Met the girls for lunch at this adorable restaurant. It's a small intimate setting with beautiful decor. Outdoor dining is available when the weather cooperates too. One of the appetizers was fried calamari and eggplant. Very traditional. My Caesar included house made dressing and croutons. I ordered Caccio Pepe. I was surprised to see it on the menu. It didn't disappoint. Everyone was very pleased with the meals. The service was a bit slow for Restaurant week but each dish is made to order. And everyone is experiencing staffing issues. Our server was an owner or partner. All the meals are prepared to order. Nice presentation and portions for lunch. Dessert was included too. We all had Tiramisu. A nearby table ordered a pizza. It smelled and looked delicious. I would guess it must've been because they quickly devoured it. This is definitely a place I'd like to have dinner. I do hope they do well. OH MY GOD! My taste buds are HIGHLY satisfied! You can tell the items are homemade by the taste itself. The temperature for each plate was perfect when we received them. My friend and I ordered the 3 course meal special, and let me tell you, it's worth every penny. The tiramisu was the cherry on top as they say, because everything was flavorful. Make a reservation! Quaint space inside, not meant for larger crowds- decent outdoor seating but still a little snug. Went on a Saturday evening for an early dinner with a reservation and got seated right away. 6:30 came around and they got packed. The Diavola pizza is SPICY!! Definitely has a kick- a great one- but not meant for children. The veal parm was amazing- great flavor, crispy outside, and a sweeter marinara. The carbonara rigatoni was so good- rich and the perfect amount. Wasn't a huge fan of the Orecchiette Pulia- little bland but good sausage and the broccoli gave it some freshness. After striking out twice with area restaurants closed for "vacation", we ended up here based on proximity and their Yelp reviews: 1) chair legs against the table legs force you to sit too far from the table. Poor design and execution. 2) music is toooo loud even when I asked to turn it down a smidge. And rock music in an "Italian" setting with table candles? Come on man...you can do better. 3) price points are outrageous! It's Ventnor for Christ's sake. Manhatten NY prices in Ventnor in the dead of winter? Sure...rip off your locals. 4) Mid $25's for personal pan pizza? Oh really? 5) Ordered the $40.00 3-course meal. a) calamari app was pure rubber and the rings were too large. No cutting rubber bands. Does the "chef" taste his food? The balsamic on the tomato/mozzarella app was too thick! You couldn't scrape it off the plate. c) the rigatoni with braciola/meatball was lukewarm. Taste wasn't too bad. d) Pappardelle w/mushrooms was pretty tasty. e) Tiramisu was good, Panna cotta was strange $80.00 + tip should have been 40% less. I gave this place one more chance big mistake. The staff must have opened the front door 50 times during our dinner letting in the frigid air, never considering the customers comfort. I was served a rice ball which was bad and paid $16 for it, pictured. Asked for spaghetti with the carbonara but received the rigatoni. Horribly salty and about a cup worth of pasta. We were ignored from the time we were served our meal. Do better, prices today are so high but the meals need to live up to the prices. read more

This was our second time for this place. Not a good dinning experience. First they lost my reservation...good thing I called to reconfirm. My wife and our guest received the wrong orders. They had to be set back to correct. My order was correct. When I got the bill there was two amounts...one for cash the other for credit card. There was no notice that they up charged for credit cards. This need to be removed. These restaurants received over $225,000 in PPP grants during Covid-19. I'm told restaurants are often reserved for the entire summer season, which made finding availability at one of the recommended restaurants difficult. This place had one available table inside. With high season, tables were crammed. Very tight aisle-ways meant servers had to routinely squeeze between tables and customers. Hard wall and ceiling surfaces made conversation difficult. The gnocchi polpetta had a single lackluster meatball with a gritty texture, most likely from low quality ground meat. The fusilli salmon ok but definitely not worth $30. The Salmone was the most disappointing. It was nothing more than a dried over cooked and burnt piece of salmon on a bed of spinach with barely any garlic in it. Not sure what happened to the balsamic glaze that was suppose to be on it. Not sure how they justify $36. It also took an hour and a half to get our order and the establishment is only 5 mins away. We started with a spicy mussel special, which was very good. However it was a little pricey at $25. We ordered the Orrechiette Pulia dish and a Tuna special, and both were excellent. We ended the meal with homemade tiramisu, which was served in a faux demitasse pot. It was very good. The service and staff were excellent. The owner even came over to make sure that everything was up to par. Also, it's BYOB, which is great. Overall a very nice dining experience, and we will definitely be going back there the next time that we are in Atlantic City. read more

A real neighborhood hidden gem,!!!! I love this restaurant, it reminds me so much of Italy on the Amalfi Coast! That's probably because the owner charming Genaro is from Napoli! I've been there for the third time this summer and just love the food because it is casual ,unpretentious ,delicious from the salads to the appetizers fresh, homemade pasta, wonderful light sauces, pizza you will die for veal Parm on the bone is just amazing ! I didn't get a chance to dine in but you could tell options off the menu are definitely elevated. I walked in on a Saturday around 7. Half the tables indoors were occupied. Being that it was my first time trying this establishment, I decided to order a classic margherita pizza. I tend to order this pizza any time I'm trying a new Italian restaurant. The staff was very nice when taking my order and answering my questions. I was pretty excited about it because they have a beautiful brick oven. My pizza took about 15 mins to be ready as they are made to order. While waiting, I admired the interior. Decorations were tastefully done and reminded me of places in Europe. My thoughts on the pizza; The tomato sauce was light and flavorful with just the right amount of cheese. You could tell the few pieces of basil topped off we're fresh because it gave a pleasant aroma. The only downfall would be the crust. I had to reheat my pizza when I got home to make it slightly crispier. In addition, there was far too much char on the bottom of the pie which left a spicy taste in my mouth. I realize and take into consideration that many family-owned restaurants are having a very difficult time finding employees at this time. But the restaurant appeared to be fully staffed but the service was just bad. I can't go into full detail of the serious shortcomings of service since the review would be way too long. But here's a summary of the beginning of the meal: no place settings; hummus appetizer arrives, but still no place settings; tell the waiter that the hummus should come with bread and we need utensils; waiter looks surprised; fried zucchini appetizer arrives without any sauce; tell waiter that menu says it comes with mayo sauce; he looks surprised again but brings back marinara sauce. We give up, but you get it the pictures. The food was meh. I had the parpadella with mushrooms. The sauce tasted like the cook sprinkled In some immitation truffle oil to add some earthy-mushroom flavor. I tried a couple of the other dishes in our group. Meh. Presentation on the plates was terrible and made the dishes look unappetizing. Perhaps the restaurant can't find experienced help for now. I wish them luck, though. We visited on a busy Saturday night with another couple. We found easy, free street parking, and upon entering were greeted by Pulia's friendly staff - YaYa, our waitress and Gennaro, the owner. Insider tip: Gennaro previously worked at Girasole, another amazing Italian restaurant in AC, which explains the top-notch experience and five-star food. Before we ordered, we were served warm bread fresh out of the oven, which was paired with delicious authentic, quality EVOO. Great taste, unlike some Italian restaurants that try to pass off cooking quality oil for a bread accompaniment. Next up, we had the Margarita pizza, salentina salad and Melanzana for appetizers. All three dishes were prepared using the freshest quality ingredients- SO good. For entrees, I had the homemade ravioli with black truffle cream sauce and my husband had the bone-in veal Parmesan special that was served with homemade pasta. Unbelievably delicious. The veal was buttery, soft melt in your mouth quality. The raviolis were prepared perfectly al dente, and the sauce was just divine. We finished with tiramisu, a unique take on my favorite dessert, and was definitely not disappointed. All in all, I've been to all the top Italian restaurants in AC 10x over - Chef Vola's, Cafe 2825, Girasole, Il Mulino, Vic & Anthony's, Carmine's, Angelo's, Angelonis and everywhere else. Me and my friend went into the restaurant around 357pm est they looked at us weirdly because we are minors. They looked at us dirty when we wanted a table outside on this beautiful day. I ordered a simple plain pizza but they didn't know what that was so I explained that I just want cheese and sauce on the pizza. Even though I requested no basil because I'm allergic they insisted on putting it on the pizza after we ate are pizza they took 15 minutes to get napkins and the check the waitress never checked on us throughout are meal. What an amazing find in Ventnor City! Small, unassuming place with a warm welcome. Saturday night reservations in our COVID-19 world can be a challenge, especially for a party of 4. We scored a reservation online at Pulia and we were so glad we did! They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose to sit outside (not ready to dine indoors yet)! Colleen was our server and she was a true breath of fresh air. So upbeat and friendly. We split an order of meatballs to start, and three of us ordered the Lobster Special for our entrees, which was a lobster tail sitting atop the shell over truffle risotto. Flippin' yum. Our other party member ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and the cool thing about Pulia is that they grill the chicken instead of frying it. Sounds sacrilegious from an old-school Italian standpoint, but he loved it (and the healthier spin). We mentioned to Colleen when we were seated that it was our friend's birthday and she brought out a deconstructed tiramisu dessert complete with a candle and a flashing Happy Birthday sign at the end of our night. So thoughtful and so festive! It made our friend's day. Even though this was our first visit to Pulia, the staff made us feel like we were regulars. BYOB and ample street parking. You can tell they use quality ingredients. A surprise stunner is the sandwich with Italian meats and mozzarella. It is very simple yet very tasty. The sandwich bread is pizza dough which adds a great touch. Probably one of the most compelling things about Pulia is one of the most simple things... the owner knows how to make a legit espresso. Recently visited Pulia on a Saturday night and was non-plused at the overall experience. This is a pricey place but the quality and quantity of their food is not on par with the competition. We ordered from the $39/meal option with ceasar salads, chix parm, Nona's pasta, and two deserts. We asked for a few extra anchovies on our salads which was very bland. Added cost as we found out was $5. The chix parm was so overcooked/stringy it was almost inedible. The Nona dish included a very small meatball and a very chewy brocoule. Service was adequate as their was only one other couple in the dining room for our 6:30 reservation. The 4% charge for credit card usage, although somewhat normal these days, didn't help but hey the deserts although very small in stature were quite good. read more

Absolutely amazing from the food to the service. We were a party of 7 so we tried many dishes. Clams and mussels were the best I have had since my last trip to Italy.
