I honestly don't know why places like this get such bad reviews. It's a buffet for the price of McDonalds. It has a great selection of options. Fast and fresh. I just had my LAST meal at the Red Wok, paid $25 plus for a mediocre lunch, had an egg roll that I had tasted but didn't finish, rolled it up in a napkin and put it in my pocket, upon passing the cashier I was informed that I was not allowed to take food from the restaurant without paying for takeout! This place never disappoints. Very large variety of food including sushi made fresh while you wait. Place is clean, and well staffed. People are very friendly and willing to get you what you need. Stopped in for lunch and the buffet was $11.99 for everything. Food quality was very good and the sushi was excellent. read more

They say do not judge a book by it's cover--But that is no longer the case here. You used to be able to get past the run-down shabby exterior because the service and food were very good. Not anymore. The interior is as bad as the exterior, and while the staff is very nice and helpful- they stand and eat while talking around the Sushi station (gross-unsanitary) and leave the Sushi un-iced longer than normally permitted. The few pieces that were left (at 4:45) were obviously sitting for over an hour (at least) as it was dry and hard, not to mention made with raw fish that would not be safe by that point. Much of the Hot food we got was apparently sitting a long time, as it was dry and rubbery. We left 90% of the food we took on the plates untouched, as we were only there only 15 minutes or so-- and STILL got charged full price! ($37 for 2 people) Even after complaining to management and showing them our table with still full plates, no discount, not even an apology. He just told us we ''should have said something before we ate anything!'' HOW do you know the food is bad if you do not try to bite into it!?. We've Been going here almost every month for over 15 years-- and will NEVER go back! read more

The last two times I have went I think I expected for the food to be better than it was. Both times I felt like the food was cold and they didn't have very many options. The waitress rang my son up for an adult he's two. I had to ask her to fix it. They always seem to accidentally do that! I just feel like it doesn't compare to Asian buffet. This is a terrible establishment. The place is absolutely filthy. Rude staff, cold and stale food. The man at the front desk overcharged me, and when I asked why his answer was that the prices have changed and we're no longer what the website stated. I told him that should be fixed so that customers were prepared for the price change at checkout and he did not care. He then charged my 10 year old as an adult because he was "taller than the hand sanitizer machine"(which was nearly taller than me at 5') Such a weird experience. Overpriced, disgusting food. Most of the food wasn't fresh at all and we found a few pieces of hair baked into our food. When brought I attention they tried to say it was on of our hairs as it was hanging from the food without me holding it they then took 2 dollars off the bill and still made us pay the 10% tip that is automatically charged in the bill. Stopped in here for diner when I stayed at the comfort inn. It was literally 20 feet away from the hotel, and we didn't feel like driving during the blizzard. If you want a lot of food for your money, than this is a great place to come. The overall taste of the buffet food is pretty bland, but there are plenty of dishes to choose from. If you want a little more flavor, hit up the hibachi and make a personal dish. The sushi is a step above the usual Chinese buffet, just because they use raw fish in a few of the rolls, but choose wisely. Some of the sushi was fried out and looked like it may have been sitting out a little too long. This is my favorite Chinese place EVER! They have a really good variety of food, the food is high quality, cooked well and nothing is gross or dirty! The restaurant is clean, a little out dated but nothing dirty! They have a cool fountain with fish and turtles for kids to see. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They price is so good too! Food is the same as any other Chinese buffet. Nothing noteworthy. The service was terrible. No refills offered throughout the meal. Server was rude. She appeared mad that I only left a $1.50 tip for a $7.78 buffet. She hovered over my chair looking at the tip and wouldn't move so I could get up and leave. Red Wok is listed as an Asian and American restaurant with seafood. It is a buffet style restaurant but aside from the fact the employees speak an Asian language and there is a slight Asian atmosphere, this cannot be considered anywhere close to Asian or Chinese food. The servers were scarce for most of the time, which is semi-normal for a buffet. The waiters and waitresses that did visit our table, tried to take our half full plates. They didn't offer a new drink until we were getting up to leave. When we both angrily said no, he scrambled to get our check as we walked to the door. They had a Mongolian style grill which was low in quality and selection. The shrimp were not even de-shelled or De-veined. The sauce for the grill - hibachi sauce - was way overly salty and made the meal impossible to eat. It soaked into the noodles that became soggy after cooked. Tried the sushi next which was not the best sushi we've ever eaten but it was passable. It was at least kept cold enough to stay fresh. The selection at the buffet was mostly fried or soaked in butter or water (depending on the dish). The fried food was all overcooked in old oil and difficult to digest. The "seafood" was soaking in liquids. Shelled foods should not soak. It should steam and hold on a steam table. The only shrimp option looked good at first but it was impossible to peal off the shell. Not only were the legs and tail attached, but they were not De-veined and the meat was extremely tough. The salmon filet was tasteless and tough and the crab legs were mushy. The "butter" was actually just flavored oil. There were other "American" options but I was honestly too pissed and annoyed to spend another minute trying the terrible food. At $25 for two people to dine, it was definitely NOT worth the stop! When the host told us the total we said we weren't sure that it was even worth it. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

My local tour guide summarized this location up in one word: inexpensive. I have been here before on a previous visit, but they seem to have upgraded the inside. As it is a Chinese restaurant, one doesn't go here to be treated well or to get a gourmet dinner. One goes here for inexpensive buffet food and to do everything oneself. On a day with poor weather, the restaurant was not full, so one can get food at one's own pace without having to fight for it. Their offerings include sushi, standard shopping mall-style Asian food, and some American offerings like macaroni and cheese. They also have cold food, soup, desserts and Mongolian BBQ. Two things our party enjoyed: the sushi and the bill, at $6.99 per person. I spent even less here than I do at McDonald's. read more

The place is very unclean and uncomfortable. I waited 23 minutes to get seated and upon getting my food I found it to be cold and tasteless. I'm not a sushi fan, but they do offer that amenity to their customers. Make sure to bring a microwave though to warm your food up after you get it. How is this buffet getting such a bad rap? It's a buffet and for $9 something bucks you get crab legs! Big fan here! Not many Chinese buffets offer crab legs anymore. Yes, the building looks sort of run down, I was sketchy at first but the food is pretty decent for the price. Everything is seasoned well (for my taste buds anyway). Now, I don't go there on weekdays usually the weekends, that's when they have high volume traffic and food is always fresh. Dinner starts at 3:30 pm. I don't get the Mongolian style grill because I know it doesn't taste good just by looking at how they cook it for other people. Sushi buffet is "eh" ingredients used in them is not to good, rolled for American taste buds! If your a big sushi fan don't eat it lol. read more

Worst service ever starting from the beginning. The lady would not let my friends and I get a booth. Then while we were about to pay, she snatches the money from our hands. We gave some change and she didn't trust us on what we knew was the amount. She took over 10 minutes to give us our money back. Everyone was rude the whole time. I agree with Mason G. This is a good, not great place. We are very happy because it is the closest place to Ludington where we can get Maki ( Sushi Rolls.)and the Mongolian BBQ addition is very nice. The place is quite clean, buffet always refreshed and there seems to be something for every taste, from Spicy with loads of garlic to American style. btw, If anyone knows of another Sushi place in the vicinity please pass it on, we are missing it ALOT! read more

I normally like this place, but this time it was ridiculous. Food was fine, we got drinks right away. But when it came time for the bill, the server lingered like she wanted more money. But it didnt make any sense because we werent even done eating yet, and we hadnt even thought to tip yet. We do that when we leave. We were trying to figure out payment because I had left my wallet at the hospital. My friends were covering me, but like I said, we were figuring it out. She lingered. It was AWKWARD. At one point i was like, we will figure it out, its cool. You can...come back? I also thought we paid at the front before leaving anyway? So confusing. THEN when my friends who were still eating gave her their card, she came back and simply said the words" Card machine doesnt work. You have cash." And stood there. They said they didnt, and she just stood there. I dont even want to type out the rest because it was so idiotic, but lets just say my 13-year-old sister was feeling weird and saying she and the other people working were pointing and laughing.
