Loved the ambiance . The waitress was perky, pleasant, and attended to our needs quickly. I ordered the crab cakes taking the word of the waitress that they were good. I told her jokingly that I was from the East Coast and knew crab cakes. I was so disappointed. The cakes were fried bread filler with seasoning. Do yourself a favor: stick with fish, shrimp, but leave the crab cakes alone. On a positive note: the iced tea was sweet and the bread pudding divine. read more

Over all the quality of the food is very good. However, portion size is very small here. The PoBoy sandwich's are very small and I got four onion rings with my order. The blackened Redfish is absolutely wonderful and they have very good rolls but you have to ask for them. Take a jacket with you, because it has been extremely cold inside on a few visits we've had here. I guess they worry more over the comfort of their employees more so than the customers. read more

Driving through Jackson. Pulled up to Redbones. Parking lot full - good sign. 20 minute wait - good sign. Place is busy. Once seated, service excellent. Water glasses kept full. Meals prepared quickly. Guy and his gal with a guitar are the band - they are pretty good. My meal - I had the Ribeye. That was a mistake. Supposedly 10oz, it is not. It's a steak that comes in one of those little bags. Mushrooms were good. French fries, potato wedges, were great. Steak, not so much. I should have known. Wife's meal - Angus beef tips. No flavor. Sucked. Fried Avocado, appetizer was great. Fried pickles, very good but too salty. Way too salty. There is my three stars. read more

My husband and I were in the mood for some seafood. Being from Louisiana/Texas area, this is by far the worst meal we have ate. I got crab cakes, Mac n cheese & mashed potatoes. I wanted the crawfish etouffee, but it's $18 for a very small dish. My crab cakes were burnt, and the whole plate wasn't worth $16. My husband got Catfish Atchafalaya. The catfish was very crunchy, and very burnt. The waitress was rude, never came to check on us. Then when we wanted a ticket she asked if everything was okay, because we are maybe 2 bites of our food. We explained our concerns, and she just asked what we would like her to do. They took one meal off the ticket, but still had to pay $50. Not worth it at ALL. I won't be going back here again. read more

It's a little hidden, I've been living around Jackson for quite a while. Considering it's small there's always one place you haven't went to! I decided to try new restaurants and this came across! We rode in from Memphis on Sunday because we heard there would be live music. The band was set up in the parking lot and most of the parking was marked of for bikers. We sat on the patio so that we could listen to the band and grab a bite to eat. The menu has a pretty impressive selection. Sandwiches, seafood, burgers, steaks... plenty to choose from. Good prices too. I had a difficult time deciding what to order but eventually picked a burger with bacon and cheese. I also ordered a side salad with blue cheese dressing. My boyfriend ordered a burger and sauteed shrimp appetizer. I can't remember what it was called, but it included somebody's name. My salad was nothing remarkable but it made a good appetizer. I tried one of the shrimp and they were tasty. It was the sauce of pure butter and spices that made the dish so good! My burger was fine. A little more well-done that I like but the flavor of the meat was enjoyable. For the money, I think Redbone's offered a good value. read more

Didn't really taste the liquor and barely got a buzz. I ordered blackened catfish, sweet potato and macaroni and cheese to eat. Fish and sweet potato was delish. My first time having catfish that way. I took one huge bite from my mac & cheese and almost threw up. It literally tasted like SPOILED MILK! I thought it was just me. My sister ate some of hers and said it was okay. That bite I took sealed the deal for me. I attempted to feed it to my 16 mo son who also spit it out w/out chewing. My sis tasted mine and also took a bigger bite of hers and we agreed that it tasted like it had gone bad. Idk what that was. I can guarantee you people are not coming back for that side dish. Excellent crawfish étouffée, plenty of crawfish and not overly spicy. The roe was thinner than usual but still very warm and satisfying. The red beans and rice are a little different, but seasoned well and very flavorful. You know it's fresh when you pull the bay leaf out of the bowl. I order a oyster po boy and it was terrible in flavor and size. The way the oysters looked I couldn't eat them, the coating was a mess it was not golden. it was like it wad rolled on brown crumbs. A small po boy is about 6" this was 3 and only held 4 oysters I would not recommend this as a po boy to anyone. read more

Redbone's had a yelp score of 4.5, I can only assume this was an off nite. They had no oysters of any kind and no crab legs. My Barbecue Cajun Shrimp were the size of salad shrimp and was lacking the Cajun. The baked macaroni and cheese had absolutely no flavor which paired with the unseasoned flavorless broccoli. No one in my party completed even a portion of their food. The waitress although nice, must have been use to it as she never asked if there was a problem with the food. This restaurant will not get a return visit from us. read more

Worst service. We had a huge party the girl couldn't maintain our orders never wrote down our stuff. Charged us for items we didn't have. If it's a Friday night maybe you need to have your best waitress working. Brutal is all I can say the mgr on duty had to check us out because the girl was so lost. read more

I was excited to find Cajun seafood in town, because I don't care for BBQ (don't tell the locals). It was a slow night and I sat at the bar. Service was quick and friendly. The local brewery cream ale was delicious and sweet. Cajun shrimp and cheesy grits in a cream sauce- I could feel my cholesterol going up just looking at it!! It was rich and full of flavor. The shrimp wasn't really spicy, at least to me, but still good. A great place to spend a rainy Monday evening! Funny side note: the hostess was wearing an ear warmer. Went back last night for dinner as I love the food here and it's worth the hour and a half drive. However, I was very disappointed that this establishment and its staff do not follow their own signs. People walking in and around unmasked. Staff with their masks hanging off their ear or under their chin. The main reason I chose to drive out was that the last time we were there, you had to mask up jut to go to the bathroom. I understand it's a pain, but ..... PS best froglets ever. read more
