They were SUPER quick but so polite. And is actually tasted as if I was back in Louisiana! Soooooo good, clean, friendly, and delicious!!!!

Quite a few years ago, we decided not to return to Redbone's due to lack of satisfaction mostly because it had become a biker haven filled with tobacco (and ??) smoke). Last week, based upon the recommendation of some friends, who told us that it had changed quite a bit for the better, we returned for another try. Of course, a large 'plus' was the presence of seafood and Cajun' dishes on the menu!! First of all, our waiter (Capt. Kirk) was great!! Very efficient and friendly! Unfortunately, we found the food to be just 'so so' and overpriced! We had crawfish étoufée and crab cakes. I had lived in southern Louisiana for a number of years, and never had seen étoufée like this - absolutely loaded with tomatoes (??) - and lacking in flavor. The crab cakes were overcooked, poorly seasoned, and somewhat greasy. With the meals rather overpriced and not very palatable, we'll not be returning for another of these expensive, less than tasty meals!! What a disappointment!! Jackson has quite a number of other restaurants with much better-tasting and much more reasonably priced meals for us to waste time and money here!! read more

Went to Redbones for my wife's birthday to see the Kimberly Helton band. The band and Kimberly are awesome. If you have not seen them perform you need to check them out! So we went for the band but will be back for the excellent food, ICE COLD beer and super friendly great service. Went here for my birthday. Lived in Louisiana for a LARGE portion of my life. So I was super excited. The food was great. Not 100% perfect but damn near. The only issue was the waitstaff. We got there not long after opening and they were fairly empty. But felt like it took for ever just for drinks. Oh well, maybe next time ;) read more

OMGosh!!! Thought I stumbled across a regional corporate place - turns out it's a privately owned establishment that has been smartly branded. Spicey bayou feel, super clean, and a very well trained staff. I didn't just eat here, I had an experience. Kudos to this owner for developing a delicious, diverse menu and for hiring Adam the Bartender. Gumbo, yum. Memphis style ribs, yummiest (that's a word). My gf got chicken strips and I got the fried catfish and it was honestly some of the best catfish I have ever eaten. This is my 3rd time here. I love the food but today my service was horrible. They gave me the wrong order originally and when the second one comes out and the food is burnt. The server got the manager and he was rude telling me that's what I ordered and that he would not remove it from my ticket but replace it with something else. At this point I am disgusted and would just like to pay for my appetizer and leave but I was forced to order something else. I have never experienced anything like this and it is unacceptable. Haven't been to Redbone's in a good while so we decided to try it again. Had the shrimp po boy and crab cakes. The food was excellent. There were maybe 5 parties in the restaurant at the time (lunch on a Saturday). There appeared to be enough serverS. However, the service was terrible. The server came to our table like 3 times total. Before we were even half finished eating she brought the check and said thanks for coming. Never once refilled our drinks. Overall, there is a big service problem. Like I said, food was good but poor/non existent service really ruined the experience. read more

There weren't very many cars in the parking lot which did make me nervous as we had tried to dine at other places that had over an hour wait; however, we had such a great experience. Our waitress was incredibly nice and kept our drinks filled the whole time. We had a party of 5 and we all got something different to eat and everyone loved what they got. Only thing that we order there are the oysters. Being in Jackson TN, finding a restaurant that has fresh, clean shucked oysters served on ice with cocktail sauce and some horse radish is a blessing. That's the 2 stars. Everything else we ordered was horrible. Shrimp are always too salty or over cooked. Crawfish is not fresh, always salty and has ton of Cajun seasoning to mask the smell. Salmon is dry and bland. Crawfish dip .. Ugh total mistake. Gator bites? Expensive and chewy. Bang bang shrimp ... Uh they're tiny and breaded and overpriced. I will probably continue to come here because this is the only place for oysters but I've tried just about everything and will not order anything else besides oysters. If you're not into oysters, not recommended. Update 9/3/2016 Took my employees and coworkers and had 3 raw dozen and 2 grilled dozen of oysters. The oysters were old, dead and very small (not full). We complained and the manager gave us some fresh, super full oysters. Kinda made me wonder why the kitchen staff who shucked the bad ones served us that bad batch. Seafood is expensive and people pay for freshness. The manager did resolve our problem but it made them look slimy trying to serve us an old batch. Not coming back and don't recommend. read more

If your actually from or even visited Louisiana, find somewhere else to eat. This "bourbon street" experience is horse shit for a number of reasons. Prices are outrageous for the quality of seafood they serve. Had far better meals for far less money. Service was slow when we where the only people in our area. read more

My spouse and I came in on a Saturday night around 6pm. We were told the wait was about 30min. I told the hostess that was fine and she suggested we sit at the bar and wait for her to CALL our cell when the table was ready. We sat about 40min at the bar before we made our way back to the podium only to be told that we would have to wait an additional 30min on a table. Had the absolute worst experience I've ever had here. My mom and I sat at table 29 with Adam (and I know the table number because instead of giving me a straw with my drink, he handed me a wadded up drink ticket from the bar). Told him we were waiting on my boyfriend that would be there shortly. He takes our drink order and then after he dropped our drinks off never stopped by once. He did however walk behind us and say "I see you're still waiting on the other guest" and breezed right past. We eventually flagged him down where we could order an appetizer while we were waiting. My boyfriend shows up, orders an Alligator Piss, and we watch it sit at the bar waiting to be ran for a good 10 minutes while Adam kept walking around looking like he was lost. My boyfriend finally had to go grab his own drink from the bar. My moms salad came out hot from sitting under the heat lamps, and the second beer she ordered clearly never even got rang in because after 10 minutes it never showed up and wasn't at the bar. We had the host in the black and white tank top go get the manager for us (who was a blonde lady, she didn't tell us her name), and when we told her about our experience all she said was "Okay. I'll get you a new server." No apology or explanation whatsoever, which is all we wanted. The blonde server on the floor by Adam's section started clearly talking crap with the host about us, and then the host kept walking past us giving us dirty looks and rolling her eyes. She then proceeded to sit a table in the booth beside us, and then came back 3 minutes later and told the guests that the restaurant closes in 5 minutes so they couldn't serve them. As a front of house manager at another place in town, I would have fired both servers and host ON THE SPOT. Absolute garbage service, no tact or hospitality whatsoever, and this was our go to place to bring out of town guests when they come to visit because it's an original concept for Jackson, and the menu has good options. Never again though. Ever. However, I will say that the server who took over our table was really sweet. Didn't catch her name unfortunately but she had short dark hair. read more

This was a horrible experience. LOUD. Why does a band play in a restaurant at dinner time at FULL VOLUME. Hubs had ribs. Basically boiled ribs drowned in sauce. First you need to have Yelp change your category. Does not reflect all the items that you serve at all. I had blackened catfish fillets with some sides of veggies. The catfish was absolutely perfect, really delicious. Some restaurants need to remember that blackening is not just a spice but a cooking technique, these guys did it perfectly. Service was great! Definitely one of my favorite local places to eat. There's no where else in Jackson like it! If you don't like seafood, that's okay. Literally everything is amazing. If you think it's pricy, there's "crazy hour" from 4-6 where you can get half price apps and burgers. The burgers are the best ever. read more

Food and service I have had much better happened on 9/15/18 around 6pm totally pissed off steak and angus tips ( mine well done his med-well ) not how we ordered for that price his steak should looked like what advertised on pictures of Facebook page sorry excuse for steak then waiter couldn't get bill to us had to get it for third time and screwed up another persons bill by putting a tip on bill and there wasn't but 4 people at table I was so pissed I couldn't see straight. Preferred my food. Got to the restaurant 30 mins after I ordered. I was told they did not have one of the two plates I ordered. I understand running out of something but my order was said to be ready in 20 mins. I arrived in 30 mins. So when the ticket in the kitchen printed off, how come since they took my phone number , was I not called and informed that when I arrived at the restaurant that only half of my order would be ready. This is not the first time this is happened at this restaurant. It has happened to me three times and not one of those times did the manager on duty call and let me know that half of my food would be missing when I arrived. This is POOR COMMUNICATION AND A MANAGER THAT KNOWS WHAT YYEY ARE DOING would correct these issues instead of making excuses. This manager could care less if I spent money at that restaurant or not. The owner needs to wise up and realize not caring about your customers can severely hurt your business. You may have a monopoly over your type of business right now but if another place moves in and can service the food that you service to your customers with better ran operations and friendly staff, you loose! . Especially with manager like you have on staff now I don't know her name but she's worthless as a representation of your establishment! ! I didn't eat here so this review is only for the bar area and the live band that played on August 2, 2013. We were staying overnight at the Quality Inn across the street and looking for a watering hole within walking distance. They have happy hour, or more like happy day from 11a-7p, our bartender was quick and friendly, she had a full bar and still managed to keep our drinks fulls. No smoking inside the bar area or restaurant (thank goodness), but they have a smoking area patio right outside. Best part about the night was the live band. I'm not a country music fan, but these guys were awesome! read more
