I recently just retired to Redding. I've owned cars for close to 45 years. I have never had a dealer tell me my car doesn't need something when I take it in for its service. They were straight up and checked my car thoroughly If they had told me I needed air filters or tire rotation or whatever I would have believed them. I gave Redding Kia one star because it would not allow a lower rating, but if it did it would be a 0 Star ratting . we have a kia sportage with less the 100k and the motor blew in. after talking with KIA and the dealership we are basically left at the option of paying for a new motor or taking the loss on the car. KIA also came out with a recall for the make model and year of our Sportage, but sadly they are so VIN specific that we did not qualify, even tho what they say recalled is exactly what happened to our Sportage we are left to cover the cost. we have 3 other friends and family members who have had KIA cars and all of them have lost engine. buyer beware. if your looking at a KIA be prepared for a lot of headaches. read more

I bought a 2016 Kia Sedona. I have been so disappointed with this van from the beginning. It's been horrible. We are still under warranty and my transmission went out and blew my engine ....and they denied the entire claim. Their reason is that we didn't have work done at their location. The only time I went to them for work done, I waited hours for my car to be done. So we do oil changes ourselves or at the places I can stay in the car with my 5 kids and we have even moved out of state at this point. This is completely crooked. read more

Redding Kia has been very helpful and never pushy with any services for my car. Recently my kia died on the freeway, we had it towed there and they called and asked for details on what happened. They ran a test on it and figured out the engine seized. I called to see what they had found out but they were waiting to see if Kia would pay for the engine. They were proactive to help me. My car was under manufacturing warranty still. they called me with the good news and said it was going to be a few weeks, a week later they called me and said my car was complete. I'm sure that these guys are okay - considering how many 5-star ratings they've received lately -- maybe since the economy got better, their attitude has improved. In any case, I'm sure that we probably just hit them on a very BAD day or something. But the fact that the floor manager actually started cussing at us was really out-of-hand, and actually frightening to me at the time. We're just middle-aged, middle-class people, and we were there to pay cash for a used vehicle in the $8,000 range, so there really wasn't any reason for the foul language. This is an update for a few previous reviews. Pretty much they sold me a HORRIBLE car. I went in wanting a Kia optima, my credit didn't qualify. So the young man told me to buy a ford fiesta- should've known from the get go to run. But I needed a newer car. So I take hours to think about it. Finally when the bank comes back with the rate, I decline. On accident I left my registration there so turned back and walked in to get it.... And I was pulled in. The man said "come on, get the car, you need a new one, I know it's a big responsibility but it will fix your credit"... So I got it. Fast forward 1 year and 7 months later... I'm in a lemon case. The car has had its clutch replaced 4 times in one year. I hope they didn't know the issues and just wanted it off the lot. I truly hope I win so I can get the car I actually like. I want a Kia forte and want to go back to them but I'm afraid. I want to be treated with respect and make sure I'm getting a good deal. The only thing that is excellent is the service guys.. They get 100 stars!!!!! They were even shocked when I told them the issues and that I bought it there. I've heard nothing but great about kia so maybe my review will change. read more

I just got my first brand new car and I had the most wonderful experience. As a first time car buyer I had no idea what the process would be like but the wonderful people here really took the time to explain the process to me and what sort of price range I was looking at before they ever showed me a car. They walked me through the whole process and made sure I understood each step of the process and didn't ever get exasperated when I had them explain something multiple times when I got confused. When I did finally find the vehicle for me (2015 Kia Soul!) it was beautiful and I fell in love. The process was very smooth and my sales person Kyle never ever tried to pressure me into buying. I was blown away by the amazing service and was even more blown away when they showed me my monthly payment. I couldn't believe how much money they managed to save me which really was the giant cherry on top. I had my Soul serviced yesterday, and these guys as always treated me great. Charles is the guy that usually writes up my car when I come in, and he is very helpful and energized. He actually runs to my car and back to get the miles. You don't see too many people that are that concerned for your time anymore. My service was only going to take about 30 minutes, so I decided to wait at the dealership. Nice leather couch, and a flat screen tv to watch in the showroom. Everyone was very friendly and actually took time to say hello to me as they walked by. A very nice environment. When I got my car back, it was all washed up for me too. The best part is that My service was $5 cheaper than the chain service shop down the street:) Excellent place. They told me that they can service pretty much any make , so I suggest you try them out, even if it is just for an oil change. read more

January 11, 1016 let me start off my saying this is about Kia corporation and their Warranty, I love Redding dealership worker bee. I will never buy a Kia again! On November 2, 2015, my 2011 KIA RIO, at around 2 p.m. suffered severe power loss while driving in the city of Redding California. As soon as it was safe, I pulled over and called my insurance company to assist with towing the vehicle to the KIA dealer located in Redding. The dealer fixed the car several days later and informed me an ignition coil went bad and would need replaced, so good luck There were no additional problems until Christmas day 25, December when my car again, suffered severe power loss: replicating the problem from last month. Because it was Christmas day, I decided to drive home. This placed me in a potentially dangerous situation. The car again went back to the dealership and it was told to me by the service advisor, that another ignition coil went bad. This is two events with this automobile within two months. I would have considered this an anomaly with the first unit but two? The vehicle has about 45,000 miles on it and is about 4 years old. Ignition coils should not go bad within this time frame which leads me to believe that the ignition coils have some inherent manufacturing fault. I would ask that this car be repaired in such a manner to be made reliable. And to top it off no call YET. read more

We took our 2015 Kia Sedona in to be serviced on Christmas Eve. They suggested over $1100 in random maintenance and brake repairs. Tonight we were driving down the road and our serpentine belt snapped and fell off the vehicle. A belt that they did not recommend be replaced and in fact marked as being in good repair during the service they supposedly did four days again. This is the second time they've supposedly done something and didn't. Last time they swore they put air in the tires but a quick check after the service showed they hadn't. They were called on that and apologized but now have done something even worse. What good is the free oil changes if they aren't even doing the stuff they claim to do. We will NEVER be back. This is the second Kia we have purchased from them and I even sent a friend there to buy his last car. You can guarantee I will now tell everyone who is looking for a car not to waste their time with this dealership. What a joke. read more

NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE! On Nov. 12, 2019 My Daughter bought a used Kai Sodona Van and has had nothing but PROBLEMS WITH THE ALARM! She has taken it in 16 times and is told their is nothing wrong. Kai can't get alarm to duplicate. The alarm goes off randomly. They had her car one week and they said it did not go off once. They gave her a rental car and she have 4 babies and the car they gave her was not even big enough to put may stroller in the back. She has even took a video of it at 3am in the morning. Yesterday they took they batteries out of key fobs and said the wanted to try that. She got home and at 1pm the alarm went off. And had to use the key to shut it off. It went off 15 times last night. ALL NIGHT LONG. So they said they were trying to find a loaner car that would fit 2 car seats and 2 booster seats. They called her today 01/10/2020 at 7:30 am only after her sister put a post on Facebook. They finally called at 12:45pm and said they were going to let her use sale-man's car until they get the loaner car that she used last time which her cant even put her stroller in and will not fit all her car seats. I have had a humming noise coming from my sportage for a few months and decided to call Kia to have the noise inspected. The manager let me know they would do a free inspection and give me a complimentary car wash as well. That morning I bring my car in and they said it would be $99 for the inspection... after speaking with the manager again he brought it down to 49.50, and said it would be applied to fixing the car later. Upon arriving to picking my car up, which never got a car wash they quoted me $900 and said I needed a completely new AC compessor. Being a bit skeptical, I took it to two separate mechanics who quoted me half the price that the dealership did, and my car is now good as new for only $400 and a new hub bearing only on the compressor. I own a 2014 fully loaded leased Kia Optima hybrid. The battery was dead in it three days ago, I got the car towed to the Reading dealership. On noon The day it was towed, they did nothing for six hours. They called me at 6:00 PM the same day to get approval to inspect it and to get approval of $100 fee to inspect the vehicle. Then the guy went home that night didn't even inspect my car. The next day I get a call saying that the battery is dead and They need to order one. However the battery wouldn't be in for a day. I called them back, keep in mind that had the car for two days now, and they said the battery is not in yet and it should be in the following day which brings it up to three days now. I have a job and go to school and have a daughter to take to daycare and they would not give me a loaner car so I am a grand total of four days so far without a car and they still will not give me a loaner car to use. Four days for battery seems a little much but to top it off the service is awful they're not very friendly over the phone and they are not very helpful, the new Kia design might be amazing but their reputation is the same. Kia sucks. $100 inspection for a fully covered and leased car? Stupid. read more

Nemo and Maria are great. But today I was checked in by someone else, he SUCKED! I was greeted upon entry, then he said he'd be right back. Several minutes later Nemo had to call him to return. He told me he's get the needed info from my car, then walked out the door and stopped to talk to someone for several more minutes. When he finally reached my car he stopped to talk with another employee. I was left standing over 10 minutes from my arrival. I went to the website for this dealership as they had two 2019 Kia Soul's in Carribean Blue that I was particularly interested in purchasing. Weirdly, the website advised that I needed to call to get the final price of the vehicles. I filled out the online request for information and heard back from someone within a few hours. The gentlemen with whom I spoke asked for my specific location. I advised that I was in Portland, OR and was doing some price comparisons related to the vehicles listed on his dealership website and information I had located with another Kia dealership. He immediately sounded disinterested, but later indicated that he would forward the price of the vehicle to me via e-mail. I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE FROM HIM!!! After reading several of the Yelp reviews, perhaps it was all for the best. Nonetheless, two days later I made the fateful decision to drive up to Car Pros Kia (Tacoma) and worked out a great deal on the trade-in of my 2015 Kia Soul for the 2019 Kia Soul I originally was potentially interest in purchasing through Redding Kia. I'm always amazed at how places like this manage to stay in business when treating potential customer's with such disregard. It's too bad really! We looked ALL OVER REDDING for a new mini-van. We were NOT picky about which mini-van, just that it was new. :o) We did not have good experiences at some "other" car dealers...my wife was lied to many times (oh yes, it has rear air conditioning...when in fact it didn't....oh yes, we can sell it for $20,199...no we never said that....). We walked into Redding Kia and it was a completely different experience. It was pouring rain and when my 7 month pregnant wife pulled in, a car salesman ran up to her car with an umbrella. They did not have the Kia Sedonas in stock, but had a 2011 used and she test drove that and loved it. Two salesman (Nemo Lopez and Donnie) drove to Marin County to pick up a 2012 Kia Sedona from another dealer. Redding Kia is HONEST and will go the EXTRA MILE (literally) for their customers. There is a sign posted all throughout the store: "Your Last Impression Is Our 1st Priority" The financing was done for us and got a better rate that the local credit union offered. They were running behind w/financing last night (new computer system) so we had more of a wait than usual but the salesmen did all they could to "entertain" us. From golf swing lessons, to guitar serenades, to free key rings for both of us... We highly recommend Redding Kia for all your car needs--new or used, this is the only place to be!
