Everything with the service department. My wife and I brought in our jeep that we purchased from your dealership, to fix a clunking/popping sound when you accelerate, or brake. We had it in the dealership for 3 weeks two separate times. Both of which they couldn't figure out the problem. I even called Matt and suggested some things to look at based off my research on what might be causing this issue and was reassured that they already checked all other things I listed. Today, I take our jeep into Crown Motors and within five hours, they had a fix, and shocker.. it was something with the axle boots that I suggested to look at and we no longer have any clunking. I will plaster this review across all social media and will tell people to run away from SJ Denham. Our experience was horrible especially we spent $80,000 on a vehicle believing we are going to have the best service in the Redding area. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO SJ DENHAM. My husband and I were on the first leg of our roadtrip from Fresno to Alaska when we heard a mysterious noise coming from our Gladiator. We searched dealerships and headed to SJ Denham Chrysler Jeep. We were immediately greeted and were quickly able to talk to a service representative. Our Jeep was then taken to the service bay and inspected. I write good reviews and bad reviews on services we receive to help the organizations. This is a bad review for the said organization in two different time frames. We have purchased 3 other Jeeps from this dealership in the past. Background - We had a 2014 Jeep Compass years ago that was worked on by S J Denham Collision Shop. They give you a guarantee on the work for the lifetime of the vehicle to the owner at the time of repair. We get the vehicle back and we started to get a "ETC" light - Electronic Throttle Control" error at all different times and that throws the vehicle into limp mode, which means the vehicle will not accelerate above 25mph.. The Compass was not drive-able or reliable. We brought the vehicle back in a few occasions to the Service shop and they fixed something and it happen again and again with no resolution to the problem. The Service Manager let us know he would have to start charging us for the diagnostics and the repair. He even spoke with the Owner of the dealership who made the decision to charge us too instead of the dealership standing behind there "guaranteed" work. We tried it there way and they couldn't resolve the issue. So, I reached out to various Bureau's in the State to have them work with us and the dealership. Well, we held the Service Manager accountable for his statements and actions in this matter. We stopped going there and got rid of said Compass. So, lets flash forward 3 years - to yesterday - I had a safety recall that needed to be done by a dealership. I decide that I would do it at this local one. I figured, I would go in and talk with the Service Manager and clear the air and start fresh for all of us. Same Manager, I dealt with three years ago. I asked to speak to him after I had made my recall appointment 2 weeks prior to yesterday to do the work. He walked out aggressively and red faced - when I asked how he was doing and shook his hand - he pulled it away abruptly and said "WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU"- I was taken back and let him know I would like to clear the air like adults with him and the dealership and would like to get my recall done here. He said "WE DON'T DO RECALL'S HERE" . I was amazed since I already had an appointment with no problem with the Service guys. He kept saying "you burned me" the whole time - I said "no just making you accountable for the repair work 3 years ago that your dealership never fixed and stand behind your guaranteed work statement" He then looked at me and said ' WE won't be working on any of your vehicle or any family member's ever again and told me to get out of here and never come back to this dealership" Again, I was dismayed by his comments he was very rude, very unprofessional, and held a grudge for 3 years. I write this review so anyone looking to go there for maintenance, repairs, or even to buy a vehicle since the Service Manager now represents and is the face for the owner and dealership with his actions/comments. This is the type of person/dealership you will be dealing with after your purchase and if you have an issue with your vehicle and they won't stand behind the words "Guaranteed Work" and they don't want to be held accountable. After 3 months of excuses blamed on Covid-19 we are finally getting our jeep back. Unfortunately in the future I would recommend using SJ Denham as a last resort. While our jeep was here for repairs, multiple parts were ordered wrong and asked if that was okay, or told other repair team members to "just bubble gum it so we can be done" The car door was also left open resulting in a completely dead battery, wet car mats due to the current weather and also thousands of dollars worth of items in the car stolen. It is unclear who stole them. We have had terrible service, people beating around the bush and making excuses, when we would rather just hear the truth whatever it may be. I normally give a lot of grace for company's and people, having worked in multiple customer service jobs myself. I know that sometimes there really isn't anything you can do! But this just got taken way out of hand and to the next level. Disappointed and glad to be leaving with our car. read more

I can't rate sales as I bought my Jeep in Petaluma. I will rate service and parts. Parts: I brought in my disconnected front sway bar end links and asked for the nuts for it. They allegedly looked it up but when I took it home it was problematic and then a 3rd party mechanic business told me they were too small. Thanks. Service: Didn't know how my service contract works and I had to ask my old dealership. It seems like it's just sort of . I don't have much trust or faith with them in general. I have a couple more warranty maintenance visits left and I'm fair so if they show me a different side I'll update this. *Update* So every step of the way, when I would come in to have my service contract from Mopar honored, these guys would just either not know how it works or lie about not knowing how it works, I'm not a mind reader. I called the dealership in the north bay that I bought my Jeep from several times to get information which I would then present to grudgingly get contract service. The cherry on the top was when my 60k service was due, which was covered, they told me that since it was over 60k (it was like 61K) that I could not have the services done. They offered to do them for the low low price of $1300. I said no, and I put off doing them as a result. Now I live in Washington and the dealership in Bremerton said "that isn't true" which is obvious. You don't just lose money you pay like that. These guys suck. I never bought a car here but the verdict is the parts department is garbage and the service is a bunch of crooks. I don't know what the Jeep Dealerships are like in Red Bluff or Chico but you may as well push your jeep off a cliff than go here. I'm not joking around, I'm not petty or bitter, this is a crooked operation and you need to go elsewhere. read more

Visitors traveling through town, our Cherokee TrailHawk threw a bunch of codes at us one morning. Thunks and slams into gear -- it barely moved. Not a good time to have car trouble, we thought. Rolled it into SJD and they were able to juggle the work in their service bays in order to make room for us -- we got right in. Turns out the problem was nothing more than a weak battery. Who knew that the transmission in a Jeep would mis-fire because of a weak battery?!? And that once you install a new battery the transmission would need to re-boot!?! We were back on the road in just a couple of hours. These guys knew that I was not going to be a repeat customer and they still rolled out the red carpet for us. Mike( not with the raspy voice) mad e a pathetic effort to assist me. He was the worst. Terrible service, when I asked questions he was annoyed, hardly talked to me and made no effort to help me out. I Purchased a used car from this dealer less then a month ago. JR in the sales team was amazing, but the dealer WILL NOT keep up with their warranty. They "give" 30 days warranty, but they will not cover it if it will cost them anything. My car now won't lock and they will not fix it. In addition, they asked me to bring the car over so they could check if it was a problem "they could cover" and ended up charging me almost $100 for "the time they spent trying to find the problem" they did not cover under their warranty period. I'm driving down Buenaventura. Windows down. Music up. Loving the day. Out of the corner of my eye I see a little brown head pop up between the fender and hood. YIKES! A mouse! Never expected to see that. Okay people, this seems to be a common problem in our town. Check your garages for mouse poop (check the corners and floors along the walls). If you've got mouse poop in the gee-rodge then you probably have Mickey and Minnie Mouse taking up residence and procreating in your car or truck. A friend recently paid 3 grand to repair damage mice had done to the heating and air conditioning system in her Lexus. You wanna pay attention here. So, SJ Denham.....I immediately drove their shop to have the truck checked for mice and possible damage. The guys found some mouse poop but no damage. Whew! Dodged that bullet. Went home, vacuumed up all the mice poop on the floor and on the shelves, and put out bait and traps. No more mice poop. The bait and traps stay put as that ounce of prevention. Then two truck batteries last month from SJ Denham. Best price in town. Soon after that came an issue with one of the truck doors not closing all the way. The wind buffeting through the door was driving me crazy. SJ Denham's body shop didn't bother estimating what it would cost to repair the problem. . . .they just took the truck into their shopand fixed the problem without charge. Wow. Talk about old school business practices! SJ Denham smogged the truck last week. 1/2 hour, the truck passed smog and I was out the door. The good: Honest, friendly hometown people you can trust. It's apparent they value their customers. The bad: Limm's is just down the street. You could gain a few pounds and clog a couple of arteries by spending time scarfing up on Chinese while waiting for your car to be repaired. Fix one problem (your vehicle), create another. Sigh. Been coming to S. J. Denham for 3 years now. Good service, although they lost their best service provider, Dale. I tend to wait for my car during simple oil changes, and while the service is done promptly, their waiting area leaves a LOT to be desired. For longer repairs...well, I don't recommend it. Six chairs are crammed into a space about 7' by 12' (I might be generous), along with a small table, a coffee station, and a Lego play table. You're knee-to-knee with the other poor souls stranded or waiting. The backs of 2 vending machines make up part of one wall, and the refrigeration fan in one blows hot air into the waiting space, boosting the temp uncomfortably--not a help in Redding! Wi-Fi? Nope. Hey, S. J., this is 2014! I've been in several dealerships over the years, and this is at the bottom of the welcoming scale. You'd think in the three years I've been coming that things would have improved at S. J. Denham. You'd be wrong. Disappointing they don't pay a little more attention to customer comfort. Nice people, but a little clueless. read more

Update: Since this post they have not communicated with the BBB to resolve this issue, they were contacted by the MOPAR Customer Service Division with no regards on correcting this issue, and most recently with the Bureau of Automotive Repair towards not repairing my issue that they caused with the collision repair and they declined any resolution that was offered and no counter-offer to myself or my family on this issue. With these three organizations contacting them and with there cavalier way of doing business... Do any of you really want to buy and car them not to stand behind there warrantied work... They are good at getting through the door, but not correcting problems or resolutions with your vehicle's. Go to another dealership it will be worth your time and effort. read more

I took my car to the collision center after I was rear ended on the freeway a couple months back. While getting the collision damage fixed it had to be taken over to the service center for a rear alignment and to get rid of the code it was throwing. The issue I discovered was a few days after my cars return when I noticed a 0-60 time and a top speed that was not there when my car had gone into the shop. Seems unprofessional to me to do that in a customers car especially since it was virtually brand new when taken into shop. read more

Big Old Buick left a scar of their license plate frame in my bumper and a couple of small holes...The insurance company for the Buick people was great (Progressive) they were on the phone with me within an hour or so and had a rental set up, and gave me two choices in Redding to have the car fixed that they do business with(or choose my own) I chose S.J. To make a long story short, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with SJ Denham. I had been searching for several months for a certain car a Mercedes Benz SLK. Using the usual tools online Auto Trader, CarGurus and carsforsaleonline. I had requested information from several listings and received less than courteous replies. One went so far as to excuse me of lying about the car I wanted to use as a trade-in. I finally came upon the listing at SJ Denham for a 2006 280 SLK. I sent a request and received a follow up email the next day from Mike Riley. He gave me a price and asked when I wanted to set up a test drive. Unfortunately right after this I had to go out of town on family business and was not able to set anything up. (So much for long story short) I received a follow up email while out of town.A little over a week later I responded and informed Mike of my situation.I told Mike when I would be returning and hope to set up a meeting then. He let me know that he would keep me updated and if the car sold he would email me to save me a trip. (SJ Denham is a 3 hour drive from me) When I returned I flew into Sacramento and called Mike who advised the car was still available so I drove directly to SJ Denham from the airport. When I got there I was met in the car lot by Ryan Denham who stopped what he was doing to assist me. I told him why I was there and he knew exactly who I was looking for and went of to get Mike Riley. To speed things up here. Test drove the car, fell in love with and sat down to negotiate. Did I get the deal I wanted, No. But then most dealership don't give cars away for free. But I most certainly got a more than fair deal. When I went to pay for it I gave them my debit card knowing that there was enough to cover the cost. Unfortunately they cant accept a debit for over 1500.00 ( a check no problem) but I didn't have my check book and now figured I would have to drive all the way home and then back again. That's when Bruce Valladon the Sales Manager stepped in and suggested that I put 1500.00 on the card and get a cashier check from my bank the next day (This was President's day and the bank was closed) That way I could take the car with me. So that's what I did. Spent the night in Redding drove back to Denham's in the morning with the check and drove home. The car is fantastic. My dealings with the staff at Denham's excited my expectations of dealing with a dealership. I spent over 40 years in the automotive Insurance industry and dealt with 100's of dealers. S.J.
