Super cool place to relax and enjoy some great tacos! Ordered the crunch wrap and a side of TORTILLAS and queso...emphasis on the tortillas. They. Don't. Have. Chips...if you forget, there are plenty of shirts to remind you. The fresh tortillas were amazing and the queso was the best I have had. Only issue: unless you opt to eat the queso with a spoon (which should be considered) between bites of tortillas, you are left with at least half the queso and no more tortillas (but you can order 2 orders of tortillas, which is 6 total). Crunch wrap was delish, and the patio was comfortable. I suggest getting there as early as possible to avoid the line. I really liked this place. The inside is SO cute, as is their patio. My friend and I shared the totchos - a must get. It looks small but was a good lil starter. She got a couple tacos and I got a crunchwrap. Next time I'd like to try the tacos. We also got those cathead sparkling alcoholic drinks and they were DELISH. When you first walk in, the vibe is hip, casual, and southwestern. There are cacti by the windows, and different kinds of Old West Knick knacks on the walls. The staff was very friendly and helped us choose in ordering... she chose well. I ordered the queso, which comes with warmed tortillas for dipping (you can add different kinds of meat into the queso... and I wish I would have asked for chips), the Tater Tot taco (omg yummmm), the Poblano taco (loved the use of feta cheese here), and the Barbacoa (this one was more traditional). All the tacos come on flour tortillas. The tater tot was my favorite! My friend ordered the Green Chili burger and really enjoyed it. They have three homemade hot sauces; jalapeño, Dr. Pepper and a creamy one that reminds me of curry. The Dr. Pepper was liquid-y, and our favorite! It had great flavor. We also each ordered the Spiked Banana Pudding Milkshake (made with Bourbon). The flavor was incredible but I would have liked it a wee bit stronger. Holy knock my socks off vegetarian tacos. I never really care for the walk up and order style places - I'd rather have normal table service (it makes ordering at a table with friends really hard - everyone's food comes out at a different time) BUT the food itself was fabulous. Unassuming place that offers good and eclectic vibes as soon as you walk in. As a native Texan, I was obviously drawn to the brisket tacos instantly, but had my reservations about brisket in Nashville. I would say its hit or miss, but it is normally a miss if you're having brisket outside of TX. I trusted the opinion and extra nudge from the cashier and boy was I surprised! It brought me back home. The Dr. Pepper sauce was really interesting and full of flavor. I had another taco and it was just as good...I don't remember the name, but it had something to do with chicken and refried beans. This is a place I recommend to all who are looking for an all around great place to eat where you will be satisfied from the food, drinks, and atmosphere. One star is missing because 1. they give you sauce in togo containers if you sit outside and ask which ones you want (as if they have 10 different options) & 2. the portions/size of the taco doesn't match the price. Great first trip to Red Headed Stranger and we will back back for more. This is a new Tex-Mex (mostly) breakfast place in East Nashville with a trendy interior and fun menu. You order your food from the counter and are given a number tag to place at your table while you wait for the food. First the menu... there are 8 different breakfast style tacos to choose from, a bacon cheese burger burger, breakfast burrito, and a few other items including a rotating daily special. The prices are fair for the portion size. The food comes served in tin foil, which is a fun presentation because it feels "street style" or "retro". We tried two tacos, the #6 and #3. The #6 was a tater tot taco that was AWESOME! The #3 was an avocado taco which my girlfriend said was really good, although I didn't try it. The burger was really good. I would describe it as very similar in taste to a McDonalds burger (but much higher in quality - local ingredients, thick cut bacon, good cheese and Martin's potato bun). I mean that as no disrespect to this place and given that this burger probably costs less than a McDonalds burger I'd eat this every single time if given a choice between the two. The burrito was good as well but my least favorite of the items I tried on this trip. I wouldn't be opposed to trying it again but there are so many good looking tacos on the menu I'd probably venture to those before the burrito for a second time. read more

One star because I have to leave at least one. However, this place was a total waste of money. Ordered 2 tacos and a Crunchwrap. After watching my food sit in the window for literally 8- 10 minutes , the food runner (who was actually just socializing, and I'm not over exaggerating. I work in food and bev industry and know what it looks like ) finalllly went to get our food when she FINALLY noticed it's sitting there. I politely addressed the issue and she seriously said "oh 10 minutes that's not really that long" I let it go cause I was starving. Getting to the food..... 1. The tacos were rolled up SO tight into tinfoil for a non to go order to the point the taco was a smushed rollup. The tortilla was insanely soggy as well. Let me add too, it's 4$ for one taco that's about the size and thickness of an M&M plastic tube from when we were kids. It was pathetic. 2. The Crunchwrap was a literal tortilla folded up filled with goo. There was no construction to the thing whatsoever ever. I cut it in half and peered inside (wish I took a photo) and there was no placement to anything. A Taco Bell Crunchwrap supreme was gourmet in comparison to this place. I wish I listened to the reviews before coming here regarding these few issues but figured why not. My opinion, this place is a waste of time and money. Good but not mind blowing. We tried the original and Xmas style crunchwraps. They use chili inside the wraps instead of just regular seasoned meat and it creates a somewhat off putting texture. To be fair, my partner and I are both weird about textures so could just be an us thing. They're not at all crunchy, which you kinda expect from a Crunchwrap lol. The service was fast and everyone was extremely friendly, and the place itself is super cute on the inside. Parking is difficult in this part of town so be prepared for that. If we decide to go back we're going to try the tacos and hope they have a better ratio. read more

Came here for lunch right before driving out of town on a Monday around 11:30. This spot has a gorgeous and spacious patio, and before the lunch crowd on a Monday was relatively empty (a score since all of the other evening times I've tried to come here, it's been so busy!) My pup loved the sun on the patio and I loved the shade. I got two vegetarian tacos, tots, and queso with tortillas. I love that this place makes fresh flour tortillas, which are so magical-tasting when hot. My whipped feta, crispy rice, poblano pepper taco was unique but a bit overpowered by the poblano. The tater tot, hatch chili taco was more my speed. I absolutely love how many vegetarian options there are here and want to come back to try more of the menu. The standout items to me were the tots, queso, and tortillas. I dipped a lot of the tots in the queso and the tortillas are just good to me plain. Food was great, however expect a long dining experience when you come here- we went on a Friday evening around 7pm which was probably their busiest time and we had a party of 8 (split into 2 tables of 4). We waited in line to order for 20-30 minutes, then we waited for at least 30 minutes until the first in our group received their food. Unfortunately the timing of when food came out was sporadic and by the time the last person had gotten their food, at least half of the party was almost done or had finished eating (I'd estimate 20-30 minutes from when the first person got their food to the last). Called in and made a takeout order and it was ready within 30 minutes of placing the order and wow was I impressed. Overall very flavorful and the tortillas are WONDERFUL, the queso and guacamole are good but more tex-mex style. My wife loves the Crunchwrap which is just like Taco Bell's Crunchwrap except this one is actually flavorful and tasty. The green Chile burger is absolutely perfect the pattys are juicy, the bacon and bun are perfect and the green Chile on it seals the deal, order one and you won't be dissatisfied. Used to come here all the time when it opened, now it seems overhyped and the owners can use that as an excuse to not make improvements to their business. Customer experience needs to improve: - waited 1 hour for food at 3pm on a Sunday - flies all over the patio, you could see a fly trap bag filled with them next door (we ended up leaving with our food because they were all over us) - order came out wrong after waiting an hour in 92 degree sun (there were no seats inside, great opportunity to get a sunshade on the patio so people can comfortably enjoy the restaurant) - don't come here unless it is outside of busy hours & great weather, you will wait at least 15 mins to put in your order then wait longer for your food, you will likely be outside for a portion/all of this - food is alright price wise, tastes good enough but not really special enough to justify the wait/inconvenience read more

Oh my lands. I don't even know how to start this review. If you're looking for your normal tacos, go somewhere else. If you're looking for new flavors and amazing tortillas then jet here right away. We tried pretty much every taco between our group and seriously they all have a place in our hearts. Fan favorite in our group was the brisket taco and, surprisingly enough, the quesadilla. There is a reason why there was a line of 20+ people waiting to dine at this restaurant. I did take out one night and the food was so good, my friend and I had it for dinner the second night. Between the two nights, we had brisket, chicken, whipped feta, tater top, and bean tacos. Every one was delicious, but especially the brisket tacos. I have to tell you, I put off trying redheaded stranger for way too long. When they opened I thought "another Tex-Mex joint- whoop-die doo". I couldn't not have been more wrong. Redheaded stranger knows what they are doing, they aren't taking business away from the local Mexican mom and pop, they are doing their own completely unique thing. Their taco combos are insane, tots and whipped feta? Who would have ever imagined, but they keep me coming back for more!!
