First time going to RHR wasn't expecting the food to be amazing since it's so cheap compared to most places nowadays so it's whatever it's really the staff that makes this place bad. I came in not knowing it's cash only but saw the sign and ATM so I immediately went to the ATM and got out $40. I go ahead and order and she says she can't take my cash because it's damaged. The staff can clearly see me go to the ATM and take out cash but she states that she has no proof of me taking out the cash. I explain that I can show her the charge on my card of $42 ($2 fee) but she doesn't care. What's the point in having an ATM if you can't accept the own money that comes out of it. I leave to my car to see if I have any loose change laying around and luckily I do but as I leave she tells my wife "try using that money in any other store" with attitude. (I later go to another store and they accepted it perfectly normal.) A white man goes to the ATM while me and my wife are eating and his cash is perfectly fine for them now. So now I feel like I'm being racially profiled. but won't be returning ever again for a really bland burger and fries. Tastes no better than McDonald's. read more

Excellent neighborhood hot dog stand true to it's Chicago fare. It's simple, quality and all the dogs are dragged "throo da garden", as we say in Chicago. It sits right under the el train on Armitage and gives that true urban flavor when you take a bite of that juicy Chicago style hot dog as the train rumbles overhead. Their burgers are nothing to scoff at either. All beef, juicy, and loaded with cheese and veggies. All their fries are the thicker kind not string and limp and cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and they have the tru luxury of parking behind the building! There are even a few picnic table on the side of the building for the warmer weather dining. This burger was everything!! The service was great! I love a good burger and I love a burger that's made with good products and not over priced. Red Hot Ranch is so GOOD!! We ordered two doubles with cheese and fries, one single with cheese and grilled onions, and a pop. I personally loved the raw onions over the grilled which I was surprised at but both were equally delicious in the own right. Also, if you've read any of my reviews on burgers you know hand cut fries are the most important to impressing me at a burger spot and this place has some amazing fries!! Burger was good - I liked the crispy edges. Not the best in Chicago, but given the price, it's we'll worth it. Fries were really good - made with fresh potatoes (I saw them cutting them up behind the counter) and you get a decent amount of them. It's cash only (there is an ATM inside tho if you forget). We stopped by for a quick late night snack after a concert at Salt Shed. It's a pretty small joint but mostly because it's a grab n go type of vibe. Prices are sooo affordable truly don't know where you can find these type of prices anywhere anymore really. We got a burger and fries for $7-8 and the portions were pretty decent given we shared the food between two. I really enjoyed the smash burger. The patty had that good ol' charred smoky flavor. This location is a hole in the wall little spot. I was told this location wasn't as good as the other ones. I gave it a 3 star because I didn't like how they stuffed the fries in the hotdog. I ordered the highly recommended double cheese smash burger and fries with a drink - the total was $10.50 for all items. I added an extra patty for just over a buck more. Got my mom the cheeseburger. I asked for easy sauce because I think it's mayo based and I'm not a mayo fan. Red Hot Ranch gets a 10/10 from me. It's a super casual and low key spot. There isn't any seating inside and one of the only downsides is that the patio tables are right under train tracks outside.
