If you are looking for a lively experience, Rediviva Restaurant is a true hidden gem in Grays Harbor. I find myself looking for other restaurants in Washington State that can even compare...I am still searching. From the custom, handmade, polished and natural wooden tables, to the raw art created by local artists that adorn the walls, to the playlists on the speakers, to the live flora that is carefully chosen for each season that enrich the restaurant. The dim spotlight effect throughout the restaurant creates a sort of privacy and focus on you and your guests, it is sure to make you feel like you are the star of the experience. They even dim the lights after dusk to accommodate. The attention to detail creates a unique, special and memorable experience. The menu items are constantly changing with the seasons. You can experience true, Pacific Northwest Indigenous cuisine and try things you probably didn't even know were edible--from Spring fiddlehead ferns, to Summer salal berries, to an assortment of Fall pinecones and unusual mushrooms, to late Winter stinging nettles. Each time you return to Rediviva you will see at least three entirely new menu options that will not disappoint or bore. The staff are friendly, lively, and make sure that you feel heard, accommodated for and special. The staff are very knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes and are even able to tell you where certain ingredients originate from, providing an educating experience as well. I have seen the chef/owner strategically alter menu items to accommodate vegans and vegetarians, even for children or those who are not fond of spice. The bartenders are easy to make friends with and are masters in the flavor matrix, constantly experimenting with unlikely ingredient combinations that will leave you contemplating things like, "How can a drink that contains ginger and no chocolate...taste like chocolate?" I had even taste-tested a trial cocktail for a "lava lamp" drink, the bartender was somehow able to create a bubbly cocktail with a dense, fruity syrup that constantly lifted off the bottom of the glass, mimicking a lava lamp. Insane! The Chef, Andy Bickar, is also the passionate owner of the restaurant--never saw a day of culinary school in his life. He is prepping, cooking and plating sometimes as many as 30+ meals from scratch in a night, often single-handedly. At the end of the night he'll even clean off the crumbs, grease and various unidentified sauce stains to come visit with you at your table if you'd like. This restaurant has truly been built from the ground, up. Rediviva supports the growth of local artists, local foragers, small businesses, Indigenous businesses and artists, and most of all--their employees. So first off, if you look at the website and get put off then ignore that! I don't think they update it often!! We were passing through as they say, and chose this place for dinner. Great choice by us. All the food was very fresh, cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. I think the menu changes constantly so go with the flow. We celebrated my aunt's 85th birthday here. Loved the ambience- it was classy and cozy. Everyone in our party agreed that the food was outstanding- all of it. The wagyu ribeye was incredible! As carnivores, that steak hit the mark completely. The service was above par especially for a small town vibe. We reserved a table for 7pm tonight to celebrate my 62nd birthday. The young lady sat us right away, however she was not our server. We sat there ignored for about 15 mins before the old server came over and asked us what we wanted to drink. By that point we had read the menu from and back several times. We ordered the mushrooms for an appetizer and both ordered the halibut. The server brought us out the wrong appetizer. So we sent that back. We finally got the correct appetizer and it was tasty. I ordered another drink , and we realized the wife didn't get a dinner fork so we had to ask for one. We sat there watching people who showed up after us get their dinners and eat, meanwhile we were still waiting. Finally after about 20 mins, we got our food. Mind you this was just about an hour after we were seated. Although the food was good, it was just warm and not hot like we would have expected. Almost like it cooked but was left sitting around until the server finally decided it was time to pick it up. We have lived in the area for nearly a year and half and we both work in the area. We have been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times since have been here. Always had great service and excellent meals. Tonight that all changed. The 10% gratuity we left was probably too much based on the service we received. Not sure what it was, maybe it because we are an interracial couple? My wife is asian. Or maybe our server just didn't want us in her section. Only she knows. But at the prices charged to dine there, we both felt disrespected and would expect better service. Plus, they ruined my birthday celebration. I can't say whether or not we will be back but if we do, it won't be anytime soon. Update 03/15/25 I spoke with the owner / Chef on the phone. All he did was make excuses. We were busy last night, maybe your server (his sister) was having an off night. Excuses do not make anything right. I ended the call because all he did was argue, stick up for his sister, and make excuses. You know what they say about excuses right? To avoid the need for excuses provide proper service and food that isn't luke warm. Basically, the service should match the cost of the meal. In this case, it was far from equal. The decision whether or not we will return was just made for us. read more

I had the pleasure of dinning at Rediviva several times during my month long stay in Aberdeen. Once you visit your first time it'll be no surprise why you'll keep coming back. As soon as you step through the handmade door into Rediviva the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The restaurant decor includes art from local artists, hand blown glass from local glass blowers, and the bar itself was made by the owner and chef, Andy. Everything about Rediviva exudes local excellence. The incredible bar tenders, Jennifer and James, are knowledgeable and friendly. They get to know everyone who sits at the bar and create a relaxed, friendly, and engaging environment. Chef Andy curates the menu daily based on local sourcing and availability, guaranteeing that each time you visit you walk away with a new favorite dish. Some personal highlights include any variation of Pappardelle on the menu, the best Wagyu burger you'll ever have, and a NY strip that will immediately melt in your mouth. Rediviva - Menu from July 18, 2024 - New American Near Me - Aberdeen, Washington

I just had my first visit (of many) to Aberdeen to visit my parents who just bought a house there. It's a cute and sleepy little town, with many great family restaurants. But big city foodies like me also have some options in Aberdeen, among them is Rediviva. It's a very cool spot that is only open a few days a week, so make sure to put in a reservation with plenty of lead time. Rediviva's whole vibe is that they use locally-sourced and foraged meat, seafood, and produce. Lots of care has gone into the menu, but given the nature of locally-sourced produce's availability, the menu may change from time to time. We started with some of their signature cocktails, which were delicious. They took a tad longer to get than your average cocktail, but these things have pretty high-end ingredients and intricate recipes. I had their vodka cocktail (can't recall the name) and it was nicely balanced between liquor and mixers. We started with the mushroom burrata, kale caesar salad, and focaccia bread for the group. The burrata was delicious, and you could tell just how fresh the mushrooms were. They were coated in what resembled a reduction of sorts, which was a good balance of sweet and savory. The burrata is served with grilled focaccia bread, which was delicious. The focaccia bread we got on the side was just as good, though not grilled. Either way you can't go wrong smearing burrata and mushrooms on your bread. The kale caesar was excellent. Perfectly coated in house dressing and tossed with breadcrumbs and parmesan crisps. Another great item to enjoy thrown on top of focaccia bread with some burrata. My main entree was the ricotta gnudi with brown butter sauce and more wild mushrooms. If you're unfamiliar, Gnudi is almost like gnocchi, but instead of potato, ricotta cheese is used. This dish was incredible, and the brown butter sauce and mushrooms gave it a deep, earthy flavor. Unfortunately they were out of dessert that night -- but no big deal. I highly recommend Rediviva and can't wait to visit again myself. read more

What a beautiful and warm experience. Service was absolutely top notch and our waitress was so knowledgeable about the whole menu and the drink selection. We tried all three of the holiday drink specials and it was beyond delicious. The care put into our drinks was fantastic. They were amazing and crafted so artfully. Never once tasted boozy yet were strong and flavorful. Started out with the burrata small plate. The sourdough was out of this world! Marinated tomato's and garlic brought this dish together perfectly! Our group ordered the NY steak steak and the roasted mushrooms and both were so delectable and packed with an amazing amount of flavor. Steaks were cooked perfectly, the char on the outside was phenomenal. My roasted mushrooms and butternut squash purée was heavenly! Overall, this is a place anyone local or visiting should try. You can tell so much love is put into the whole process and it shows. What a lovely gem of top tier food for the grays harbor area. If you find yourself in Aberdeen give Rediviva a try. read more

This may be the best restaurant in Washington state. Everything was delicious, and very reasonably priced for the quality and flavors you get. The Venison pasta dish my girl got was probably the best pasta dish I have ever had in my entire life. The venison was tender and juicy and reminded me of my childhood. Feeling conflicted over leaving a poor review but it was an odd experience. Dining partner and I were very sick the next couple of days and had to skip work. My digestion felt off for a week. The only raw dish we shared was prepared and we called to let them know, but they didn't even inquire what we ate... Also ordered a filet and got a skirt steak?! I was so excited to see Rediviva had reopened! My husband and I went for dinner and it was excellent! We had scallops, salad and steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. From start to finish, Rediviva was a delight. Oh the menu... chock-full of PNW goodness. How do you even pick? (You just order as much as your stomach (and wallet) can handle.) We started with the wild boar meatballs. Umm hello! I was scraping the drippings and couscous from the plate when the meatballs were gone. We also had the focaccia with -get this- whipped butter with seaweed. Delicious! I accidentally drank my husbands marionberry & cream soda because it was so good and I don't even like carbonation. For dinner I had the scallop mousse and crab pasta. Homemade buttery goodness. My husband had the sirloin plate. The crust was soooo good. We had to leave but ordered the burnt basque cheesecake with strawberry sauce and the strawberry clafoutis. Even sitting in a box for 15 minutes they still managed to be excellent. You could taste the care and skill that went into each dish. Andy (owner and chef) is the lone magician behind the experience from appetizer to dessert. Talk about talent! This is not the place you visit expecting food to come out fast. With one chef behind the entire menu, expect to wait. The good kind of wait savoring each drink and bite. The service helps pass the time. Shoutouts to Amanda and Koresa for being wonderful, knowledgeable, and just warm overall. This restaurant has a wonderful owner/chef who loves to experiment with flavors and uncommon ingredients for some of the best food I've ever tasted. The stinging nettle pasta i had here was beyond delicious and the romanesque broccoli dish that was on the menu that day was also super delicious!!! This restaurant has a different menu depending on the day, availability and season so each visit is a different flavor extravaganza!!! I live in Southern California and never expected to find anything worth opening up the yelp app and gushing over in Aberdeen, but here I am. We got lucky to be seated without a reservation, but we were the only table without one, so call and reserve your table. I had an absolutely delectable short rib entree with polenta and carrot puree. My dad had an incredible entree of lamb shoulder, risotto, and asparagus puree. Wow. And our server, Jillaine, was super--so bright, wry, funny. Such a memorable night. We had ahi for an appetizer and I'm a big fan of ahi but I've never had a cut that felt so high in quality, and the sauce and seasoning only added to it. Rediviva never disappoints. We celebrated our anniversary at Rediviva and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We had an anniversary card waiting on the table for us when we arrived which made this visit extra special. One of the things I love most about this restaurant is that the menu is a little different each time we go and this makes every visit unique. The drinks are awesome, James really knows his craft and I can say that I've never had a bad drink at Rediviva. The food is unique and loaded with all different flavors that touch the tastebuds just right. The real standout for us this trip was the dessert. Rarely do my husband and I ever say much about the dessert but this time we couldn't stop raving. The desert was a cheesecake with a passion fruit glaze/sauce. The crust was thick and flavorful and the cheese portion was just the perfect amount for the topping. One of the best parts of this dessert was getting a bite with all of the flavors and textures. I enjoyed a 7 oz. Wagyu cheeseburger that was by far the best burger in Grays Harbor County. I had it rare and I think from now on when I come here on Burger Night I'll never get it any other way. Combine that with a couple expertly-made non-alcoholic cocktails and a unique and delicious dessert -- I tried passionfruit ice cream -- it made for an outstanding food and drink experience. Way to go Andy! Add the excellent service from James, Koresa and Amy and there's no other right star selection than five. I don't know the words to express how much this place means to our family. It became a vital part of our annual "pilgrimage to the peninsula" 6 or 7 years ago. All through the pandemic, when we'd learn of (and mourn) our favorite places closing under the strain of the shutdown, the kids would anxiously ask if Rediviva was still open. My partner and I incessantly trolled Chef Andy's Facebook page, keeping a weather eye out for updates. We all breathed a collective sigh of relief when Rediviva reopened. Two years and three attempted reservations later, here we are. It was THE BEST food we've eaten since 2019, easily, and totally worth the wait. But it's the atmosphere, the attentiveness of the people there, and the memories you know you're going to leave with that make this place truly magical. We have lived in the area for over a year and have just now found this delightful place! Super cool ambiance, great service and delicious food. I had the burger and my husband had the stinging nettle pasta. Both meals were presented well and eaten in their entirety. It does take a little while for the food to come out but it was worth the wait. Madison was our server and she was wonderful. It's nice to have a fine dining choice in our area.
