Best restaurant in Grays Harbor, hands down! The Westport roll has to be the best sushi I've ever had.

The food was great, service was excellent. The ambiance was nice. The servers had everything you asked for.

I had to come to this town for work, and as a Texas transplant to this area I was very open minded about food. I checked Yelp and this places did a decent enough review business to give it a try. The ambiance was average. Very much what Americans expect of an Asian style restaurant. I have not spent a lot of time up here, so is a space heater next to a table an average thing? I will say that walking in, I stood there for a while in front of their "wait to be seated sign." Similarly when I was finally seated, it was about ten minutes before my waiter/waitress came. The menu is simple. Sushi, ramen, udon noodles etc. I took a Quick Look, found a local brewery on draft (Steam Donkey), gyoza (I'm fond of them), and an advertised spicy roll, vampire roll. When my waitress eventually arrived, I order my appetizer, main course and drink at once. My gyoza were probably the best I have ever had. Crisp outer shell, well seasoned inside, infused with matcha for veggie and left crisp and brown for pork. Seriously, loved this. And the miso soup, delicious. My sushi roll, was disappointing. Especially at their price point. Imagine a California roll with imitation crab, that they added sriracha rice to the top and up charge you almost 20 for, what you get is a mediocre dish, you pay through the nose for. Just didn't think the quality matched their price point. Service 2/5 - they were friendly and polite, but I waited a long time for a table and to make my order. Food: 3/5* - gyoza and the miso were good(5/5) , sushi was average (3/5). Menu needs some dish diversity but might try again for the gyoza.

Spicy tuna roll forgot the official name.

Excellent Service!!! We had a great time and the Sashimi/Hamachi was delicious!!! Melted in my mouth and tasted like it just came out of the ocean. The Sushi Alaska was yummy and we enjoyed their Udon too. We love stopping of here on our way to Ocean Shores, and it's our go to in Grays Harbor. We will be back! BTW, try their lemon-aid it's bottom-less and it's real. Thank you for sharing your delicious food. We love driving through Aberdeen to see this Oasis at the end of the boulevard as we dream of the day of this city's revival.

Samurai sushi is our favorite spot to go for sushi. It's better than all the sushi places that we've tried from aberdeen to Olympia so far. I've always gotta order the westport, vampire roll and Philadelphia. Other good ones are the tiger roll, Alaskan roll, and volcano roll. The avacado boat and calamari is delicious. I always order masago and/or tobiko I'm obsessed with those tiny fish eggs. Crazy good!!!

Sorry! We didn't take the time to photograph the sushi until it was too late!

Even on a busy end-of-summer holiday weekend Saturday evening, we had absolutely superb service and food at Samurai. After a day at the beach, we were driving back through Aberdeen and found Samurai using Yelp. In the mood for sushi, the reviews indicated a promising possibility. Our server, a very pleasant young man, took our order and started bringing food. We had ordered five items, miso soup, a side of rice, and tea. The soup, rice, and tea came immediately. Our server notified us that one of the items was out of stock, but when the sushi came, it had been substituted with smoked salmon sushi. The quality of the fish was absolutely tip-top. We were very impressed with everything, but were particularly impressed with the unagi (fresh water eel), the yellowtail, and the smoked salmon. Both the smoked salmon and the "regular" salmon were extremely fine-grained, just melting on the tongue. The pieces of fish used in the sushi were very generous. Wow. My wife and I have had the opportunity to have sushi in many places around the world, including at the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. We've been eating sushi for decades. Our selections at Samurai were among the very best we've ever had.

Recommendation from a local in the industry should be a can't miss. This was a miss. Service was mid at the very best. Just OK in every way. There was a decent beer list - nothing that I really like, but that's just me being picky it was a decent selection. We tried a couple of appetizers and they were just not good. Mac and cheese balls and something else that I have already forgotten, but I know our group of four left food on the table and we came in hungry. It's a very small space, and on our trip there was a pretty loud group at the bar. That's normally to be expected in a bar, but in this space we were able to hear every word of their conversation which is just weird. Funny, part of the reason the other bar owner recommended this place is because of the 'cute outdoor seating area'. Take a look at the picture. If you are driving through Aberdeen to the beach, I'd have to suggest you keep going.

I could only decide (because there were ingenious choices) when our bar server, Hannah, suggested "Sweet Heat." Listed under "Pinsa Flat Bread" it came out 12"x6" thick bread perfectly browned in oven with gooey garlic/mozzarella but, wait, caramelized onions, thick-diced grilled chicken that tasted like bacon. Every two or three inches, one pickled jalapeño perfectly placed for heat that didn't burn, and over it all, drizzled HOT HONEY!!! My mouth was ecstatic. Pretty soon I couldn't wait to cut with my fork and knife to have my third and fourth triangled piece. Sitting, leaning over the high long bar, I just held the sticky, sweet cheesy spicy bread with all ten fingers tipping my head to catch the drips. Passion Orange Guava Cider washed it all down. I made a trip to the restroom and wash my hands then stopped at the kitchen window to rave about the menu with Clayton, the cook. This was all on a summer Monday night in June, low west sun shining into the cozy wood space, baseball silenced on the three screens, fun, toe-tapping music the whole two hours we stayed. The Gibbons couple have scored the times with their courage to do local, unusual creative food with a dialed-back vintage vibe.

A much needed ocean therapy was calling my name and I drove west. Ended up in Ocean Shores. I left my town due to how crazy busy it would be with parades and a carnival, not knowing what's in store here. A pleasant surprise to see the streets lined with families. Anyway, got to shop, enjoy the festivities, and more importantly spend time walking the beach. Gorgeous day! Which led me to try something new and ended up here at the Garage. The atmosphere here was electric with Mariners on a screen over the bar and the FIFA World Cup games on the other screen. Love the open patio area, where a cooling breeze can be felt all throughout the Garage. They were a bit busy, so it took a minute to greet me, but at least I was able to find a table. I ended up ordering their Fish & Chips, and a cup of their chowda! DAMN!!! That's a mighty fine cup of chowda! And the baked buttered crips was spot on. Never had it that way (just the usual soft sourdough or oyster crackers) but them sliced crisps were perfect and I'm going to have to try serving it that way at home. I started out with the Hot Honey Old Fashioned, and surprisingly, there was some heat. Thoroughly enjoyed it! The Fish & Chips were breaded a bit differently. Reminds me of the cornmeal you'd find in the south with fried catfish and what not. The cod was flaky and perfect. It came with three pieces and it was just right. The fries complimented it well. The tarter was legit. Not the standard white sauce, but seemed to have a hint of dill in it. All in all, a great experience for my first time. The staff was busy, but they ensured I was tended to. As always, enjoy and Happy Ocean Therapy!!

Parking in back, plenty of other food to order if you didn't want the prime rib. Atmosphere is basically a bar, old eclectic feel, like you're out in the country and you come across an old local bar. Outdated, dark, not many seats but that's the charm of it. We had a great experience, with minor inconveniences, no biggie! I would recommend it, prime Rib was awesome! Probably more of an adults night out, doesn't seem to be largely family oriented. I got so excited when the food came I forgot to take pics however, I did snap some current menu pictures.
