OK, so I've seen a lot of reviews on this place over the years. I hadn't been in here since I was a kid. And I only had memories of this place. But man, the dollar oysters on Tuesdays all day is an absolute steal. The oysters were very good. And then I had the stuffed tilapia with red beans and rice. I got this on the lunch special for like $13. Plus, my dollar oysters. My bill at the end was unexpectedly cheap and I love that I ate good at lunch for a good prize. The stuff tilapia was so good. You see I love Cajun food. It's my number one choice right behind that is Mexican food so I judge Cajun food pretty tough. But they did their thing with this dish. The service was really good. My bartender was awesome. He made sure the vibe of the bar stayed up and I really appreciate that. I really enjoyed this place after all these years. You will find this restaurant in Bricktown, in the shadow of the baseball stadium. This place has a tourist trap feel to it. They have their own private parking lot that is free for their patrons to park. The restaurant has a patio area in the front that overlooks the parking lot, a large bar area with televisions, an upper level dining area and a lower level dining area. The restaurant is decorated in New Orleans regalia. They had live music or karaoke going while I was there. I could not tell the difference I sat at a small table in the bar area. My server, who also happened to be one of the bar tenders, was very friendly. They serve cajun seafood including oysters, crawfish, gator, fish, clams, jambalaya, catfish gumbo and shrimp. They also have wings, pasta, poboys and steaks. They also had some good signature cocktails. Be on the lookout for the $5 ones. They have Hurricanes, Bloody Marys, and Mai Tais. I ordered half blackened gator, half fried gator with a side of cabbage. I got a pina colada, and a hurricane to wash my food down. It took about 15 minutes for me to get my food and it was just ok. The food was not very warm, there was not a lot of food. The gator looked like it came from the grocery store and was small. It also did not have a lot of flavor either. The cabbage was not much better. It was like lettuce. It did not have much taste and was much firmer than I use to. I lived in New Orleans for 10 years and this food was not even close to NOLA quality. I think that this place is overhyped and maybe I came in with too high of expectations. My drinks, however, were decent, and very reasonably priced. Well, this place was just "ok" for me. The food was edible, but I would definitely not be back for the food. So I'm a pharma rep and ordered for the first time today for a small office lunch and learn. The office loved it, the food was fantastic and the service was awesome. Sarah (the manager) and Gradon were so professional and accomodating- Crabtown will definitely be on my normal rotation to take to offices. Cocktails are good. Had a spicy threat. Was perfect! Alligator bites are tender and come with rice. Love that they give you option between fried and blackened or half and half. Crab cakes are pure crab. Crab boil is generous and fun eating from the table. After agreeing to the cost she rang up the Total and SHOCK HIT ME IN THE FACE They had added an $18.00 TIP!!!!!! What the Heck! This place has awesome fresh seafood (and healthy dining options including steamed veggies) and is also related to the Pearl's that is located in Nichols Hills. Located in Bricktown and a very spacious interior with a Southern, almost pirate ship vibe and feel. Service was also exceptional and attentive. Got the rainbow trout with lemon sauce, which was accompanied by rice pilaf and steamed broccoli (upon request). Their Boston clam chowder was also very good and tasty. From the moment I walked in, until the door was hitting my backside on the way out, this was such a WELCOMING experience. Jackie greeted me with the warmest smile and she seated me in a wonderful booth at my request. My server, Cora, came right over, brought menus (and sparkling bottled water at my request) and was theeeee sweetest server ever. The restaurant was semi dimly lit with a warm, homey feeling. I started with the crab cake appetizer. They were good, but not great. My entree was chicken fried steak. It came with a salad and mashed potatoes. Can we talk about the salad for a minute? I'm from California. I have NEVER seen a side salad so large. With the blue cheese dressing, it was phenomenal!!! The dressing had HUGE chunks of bleu cheese and the salad was topped with crispy wontons. Soooo good. On to the chicken fried steak. Well, the size of the salad should have been an indicator of portion sizes. It was TWO large pieces of steak that was battered and fried to perfection. They were topped with a flavorful white gravy. The mashed potatoes were light and buttery. So darned good. It was delicious. There was enough for me to take back to the hotel and have it for dinner. I ordered a slice of key lime pie to go. I'm STUFFED!! I will have to update my review to include my thoughts on the pie later. Man!!! If my stay in town would have been longer, THIS would be my spot. I highly (and I mean HIGHLY) recommend. Multiple visits to this restaurant, and I want to start by saying it could not be more convenient. It's obviously popular, and I'm not shocked that seafood in OKC is "pricey." With all that in mind, I felt like an update to my previous review was in order, and so... We arrived for an early lunch this Saturday & we were promptly Seated. Our server, Millie, was incredible. She was right on top of things, and as we were there very early, the dining room continue to fill as we ate. We started with the Cajun tots and the spinach & artichoke dip. We've ordered the former before, and they missed the mark this time. They were clearly over-cooked (the hashbrowns actually had the scorched taste). Had I not seen my previous picture, I might not have realized just how far off they were. Also, there was no hint of andouille in them. The dip, however, was wonderful. We decided to share the crab cake sliders. Sometimes I skim the menu too quickly for my own good, so I was extremely disappointed that for a couple bucks more than the burger sliders, we only received two. We asked for the slaw on the side. They nailed that. What they did not/do not nail is that tartar sauce. OMG, that is not good. It tasted like one scoop of relish and one scoop of Miracle Whip. Fortunately, I carry mayo packets with me for just such an emergency. Sadly, the outside of the crab cakes were also scorched, while the inside was almost loose. Perhaps they were rushing on their fryers or frying pans and got their oil too hot for both the tots and the crab cakes. There is no cheap meal here, so I do sort of expect absolutely high standards for the presentation and delivery of my food. We should have sent the tots back, and honestly, the sliders as well. The downgrade in my overall rating is due solely to the quality we received this visit. read more

(This is a long review; sorry in advance) I'm sad (and, honestly, shocked) to say that my experience at Pearl's Crabtown in downtown OKC was horrible. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in OKC for his birthday. We love seafood, and when we saw Pearl's, we thought it would be a perfect dining experience. That couldn't have been further from the truth. To start at the beginning of the night, we walked in and gave the hostess our name. She didn't inform us how long the wait would be, but we didn't think much of it. There wasn't really a spot to wait for a table, so we just stood where there was room. We then heard one of the hostesses say, "They're just staring at us, and I'm like, 'Okay...'" I turned to look at my boyfriend, feeling bad because I was honestly trying to be patient and wait for a table, but that's just rude to say with literally a ton of customers around; she sounded like a high schooler gossiping to her friends. And honestly, none of the people waiting were "staring" at them. It was very unprofessional. Next was the service. Our waitress, Cora, was superficially nice (meaning, it was apparent that any kindness she showed was only because she was on the clock). She was dismissive and inattentive and did not regard us as customers or our experience. I'll elaborate on this later. The food was incredibly subpar. I ordered the crab legs, and my boyfriend ordered the crab and shrimp skillet. When ordering crab legs at Pearl's Crabtown, you can choose from garlic or cajun seasoning. I picked garlic. When my food came out, my crab was boiled in water with zero seasoning whatsoever. I'm so sensitive to spice, so the fact that I was absolutely certain that there was zero seasoning on the crab is ridiculous. I was a little frustrated, but I pushed that aside because I love crab legs. However, there was very little meat in each leg. Now, I don't know how that works, so I understand if I somehow got a bad batch, but every single bunch of legs had hardly any meat. I saw a similar review after doing some research on this restaurant... Needless to say, I left hungry. If you want crab legs that are better than here, go to Red Lobster. I've had WAY better there. My boyfriend's crab and shrimp skillet was supposedly a highlight on the menu. This man loves his seafood, and he barely touched his food. In fact, I gave him a few of my crab claws (I don't like the claws). He actually took the layer of cheese off of the top and slowly ate that because he was hungry. I mean honestly it was just ridiculous. I wanted to send it back, but we also didn't want to cause any issues. We aren't the type of people to send food back or even complain, so we just decided to eat what we could and move on. To elaborate further on the waitress situation, Cora didn't bother to ask my boyfriend why his food was pretty much untouched... most of the time, the waiter/waitress will ask if you didn't like the food (basically asking why there's so much food left on your plate!!) Lastly, the price is INSANE for the food quality! I mean, when we looked up the restaurant and saw the prices, it further solidified the thought that the food would be outstanding. We paid $80 for our food and we both left hungry. It was also my boyfriend's birthday, so it honestly broke my heart to see that he didn't like his food. Needless to say, I left the restaurant really frustrated. I know that there are many great reviews for this restaurant... I'm not sure if we went on a bad night or if we ordered the wrong things... but ordering crab at "Pearl's Crabtown" shouldn't be a wrong order. Needless to say, we won't be back, and we won't spend another penny at this establishment. My suggestion? Go to Red Lobster instead. read more

It's tough to rate a restaurant based on a single visit. I popped in for a few drinks and lunch. I ordered a side house salad and the fried clams and fries from the lunch menu. All the food was boring and bland. The salad was just lettuce and the fried onion things. No onions, no tomatoes... boring. The clams were equally boring. Fries were flavorless. But after I finished my beer I would have loved another beer or maybe a Bloody Mary. But my glass sat empty for 10-15 minutes and the bartender never came back until I was done eating. Friday night around 8pm we thought we would try this place bc of the positive reviews and Lent (no meat). We attempted to call to ask if there was a wait or if we need to make reservations and the lady rudely said that they don't give out that information and don't do call aheads. When we arrived we weren't greeted for at least 5 mins, just watched employees keep walking by and talk to each other which seemed to be the theme. When we finally were sat, we waited 22 mins before we even had a water in front of us. The poor table beside us has obviously arrived before us and obviously had similar issues since they also had a some waters but looked very annoyed that they weren't getting any service- they ended up getting $60 taken off their bill. Our server was a nice little girl, who was kinda trying but disappeared for 20-30min chunks of times. The restaurant was pretty empty and all the tables were dirty. Food was ok, atmosphere seemed like it could be fun but the overall experience was poor & I wouldn't recommend. It was a waste of $$$. Should have went somewhere else. Someone needs to teach this place about work ethic, smiling and pre-bussing...it would go a long way... Hosts are the first impression of a restaurant--at least hire people who are nice read more

My friends took me to Pearl's Crabtown Restaurant in Oklahoma City, OK for my birthday this past June. I was delighted with the shrimp boil that I ordered. The service was amazing and the wait staff were very nice and friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant reminded me of many of the restaurants in the Pacific Northwest that serve fresh seafood daily. The whole dining experience was great. The food was prepared perfectly and the shrimp was tender and flavorful. I highly recommend this restaurant and would love to go back for dinner in the future. read more

Monday night dinner @ 830PM. They have a small parking lot right out front. Be careful pulling in because there's a bump that can be a little starting. It was not busy at all, we were seated immediately upon arrival. My friend and I both ordered the Cajun crab and shrimp boil (1/2lb & $28/per person) with a side order of French fries ($5). There are dinner rolls and cole slaw included with the boil, however, I didn't care for either. Quiet environment, not rowdy at all. It was pretty empty for a Monday night. If I'm being completely honest, I was very disappointed with the food. The French fries were cold and soggy. The seafood boil was such a small portion, it's hard to believe that we both received 1/2lb. Two orders of that would be enough to feed one person. They give you a side of melted butter and cocktail sauce for dipping sauces. I felt that it was lacking in flavor, I definitely had better elsewhere. Overall, it was okay at best. Co-worker chose this place for dinner while in town for business. We were seated immediately. Decor fit the vibe of the menu - very Cajun, very bayou, very much not OKC. Had the Cajun Tater Tots as appetizer. Nice kick from the jalapeño but not overwhelming. For the entree, I got Crab Crusted Salmon. Fettuccini in lemon butter sauce was very good. And the crab au gratin over the salmon added a great flavor to the nicely cooked salmon. There were a lot of other things to choose from and would definitely come back. read more
