What a great place to get fresh or canned seafood. Nice deli menu as well. Being part of the public market makes it so easy to grab something and go or sit around the market to eat. We are fans of some canned seafood after our trips to Spain, so to see and buy some of their specialty cans was a real treat. The staff was super friendly and happy to answer any questions and make recommendations. It was really great to see that the fresh seafood had a specific location and fisherman's name attached to it, really makes you appreciate where our food comes from. I ordered a salmon burger for a quick bite and it was quite good. I was a bit skeptical about the arugula, but the lemon aoili cut the peppery taste out and tasted great with the salmon. Well made burger and a good buy, they got it out in a timely fashion even with how busy the market was. Probably one of the biggest lobster rolls I've had! Boston Public Market is a great little place to stroll around, grab a bite and check out some of the local vendors. I grabbed a lobster roll and lobster bisque from Red's and went and sat at The Pine Bar and had a beer. Red's is a great place to grab fresh seafood to take home and a hot meal to go. They have a dining area with a good amount of tables that's located right next to their stand. About 10 minutes later, they called my number and I grabbed my food. It smelled absolutely incredible! One look at these fish and chips and I already knew that it was gonna be hittin'. The golden brown crispy batter looked absolutely perf. Took my first bite and my eyes rolled to the back of my head. MOUTH WATERING! Eyes watering too. Fish was so good that I could cry. That batter was perfecto. Just the right amount of seasoning and crunch. The flakiest haddock ever. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. The clam chunks and potato chunks added good texture to the soup. I do wish it were a little thicker as it was a bit watery in my opinion. Ordered their Salmon burger online. When I arrived it appeared that something malfunctioned with their online ordering system, so they weren't notified of my order. However, the employees there were very apologetic and they had my order ready in 5-10 mins. No biggie, I wasn't in a rush. Like all tourists, we were walking the Freedom Trail and foraging seafood for lunch. We wandered into Boston Public Market and stumbled across Red's Best Seafood. This seafood market is a hidden gem! They sell locally sourced fresh seafood and also double as an eatery serving rolls, chowder, apps, etc. - Scallop roll: There was sort of a lot of bread relative to the little row of scallops, but it was fried to golden perfection - Clam chowder: This was flavorful and just a dash of creaminess, to my liking. Creamy bacony clam chowder is tempting but puts me to sleep right away ^^;; I love how their version has more of an emphasis on the actual seafood, with overtones of pepper and herbs - Lobster bisque: I also liked how this was not too creamy. The lobster taste was subtle but distinct - Crab cakes: These were the highlight of the meal! It tasted like over 95% lump crab o.O with minimal breading and seasoning to make them into crab cakes Overall, Red's Best Seafood is a nice stop for lunch. Prices are fair for the quality (expect to spend ~$30), and the food was ready fairly quickly. This was probably the least touristy seafood place in Boston that I visited. read more

This is the best seafood spot in Boston! Look no further! I've tried oyster po boys here, lobster rolls, clam chowder, lobster bisque, and fresh raw oysters. Their best item is the oyster po boy. From the flavorful breading on the oysters to the sauce, and the perfectly buttery bun, everything about it was perfect! Their lobster bisque was my second favorite thing there. It is a must try. I went to Quincy Market after the first time coming here, and Red's Best Seafood is still 100% better than anything that I got there. The second time that we went (we had to come here for our last meal in Boston because the first one was so phenomenal), we got super lucky and got $1 oysters. The oysters were $2.25 per piece the first time we went. Their lobster rolls are the most perfectly executed that I had in Boston. The bun was perfectly buttery. The lobster roll had tiny pieces of celery and parsley on it. Every bite had a lot of lobster inside. There was never a line here when we went. There are seats around the stand. You order on one side of the store and pick up your food at the other end. There are boards saying where each their items are from. There's even a little map by the waiting area to show you the process of how they get their fresh seafood.There is a ton of stuff we didn't get a chance to try here yet, but I definitely recommend trying Red's Best if you're in Boston! read more

It's in the Boston Public Market and initially me and my sister didn't want to walk there after roaming Faneuil Hall but trust me and go there. It's worth it! Everything made fresh to order and even when they accidentally made fish tacos vs fish and chips, they made it expediently and didn't faulted in their quality and flavor. The calamari was crispy and was super tender. The oyster poboy was amazing with the aioli and did not come off gritty. The chowder was chunky and amazing even for the summer time. Red's Best Seafood is a seafood vendor inside of the Boston Public Market on 100 Hanover Street, a block over from Haymarket Station. In addition to the fresh seafoods sourced from the famous seaports that you can purchase by the pound, you can also order up hot items such as seafood (fish or scallop) tacos, buttered lobster rolls, crab cakes, fish and chips, fried oysters, fried scallops, and other items. The soups that you can order are the clam chowder and the lobster bisque. You can order freshly shucked oysters and clams in addition to steamed lobster. Instead of the lobster roll, I prefer the lobster over kale. This is a prepared item that you can grab and go rather in the refrigerated section. There is also sliced salmon and sliced tuna salad. When I head over to the Boston Public Market for lunch, I tend to go for the sushi and the poke bowls. My favorite roll is the crunchy salmon roll with crispy salmon skin on top. My next favorite is the spicy salmon. The spicy tuna had to be the spiciest spicy tuna maki I have ever tried. The fiery red color is no joke. Not the prettiest rolls but the fish is always fresh and tasty. My favorite poke bowl is the crab meat poke bowl. This bowl has plenty of crab meat with a spicy mayonnaise dressing. There is a small amount of cucumbers and thin slices of avocados as well. I haven't tried the other poke bowls since the portion are small for the price. I feel like there isn't enough protein (fish) to justify the price. Which makes me always go for the spicy crab bowl. Overall, this place has great quality sushi that you shouldn't skip over. Red's Best also uses real wasabi and not the powder tube wasabi. And if you have had the real stuff, it's actually much more pleasant than the powder variety and not as spicy.
