The world famous Quincy's Market houses many vendors and experiences worth trying while in Boston. You can wind up spending a whole day in the area or simply at the market in and of itself. There are 3 distinct Quincy's Markets that offer a whole variety of food options and local produce and souvenirs; there's so much to choose from and do. Wicked Lobster is definitely up there when it comes to some of the best Lobster Rolls I've had in the New England Area, but the price vs portion ratio was a bit off. Honestly, I just wish navigating the market without spending $100 at just one of the vendors was more common. Some people argue you'd be better off getting food elsewhere instead of the market for seating and portion control, but I'm glad I gave Quincy's a shot. The history and prestige of visiting the spot is worth going on its own and the food is genuinely good quality and fresh. The whole area is near the water is branching off from the Freedom Trail, so the atmosphere and vibes are high and full of adventure and exploration. Quincy market is fully stacked with tons of restaurants with diversity but wicked lobsta had the longest line and I came to Boston for a crab roll. Stopped by Wicked Lobsta during a trip for Red Sox Opening Day with a friend who needed the full Boston experience and that obviously means a proper lobster roll. Been here a few times , so it was a no brainer that still delivers. Went with the hot butter roll because that is the only way to do it and it was exactly what you want rich, fresh, and on point. Added the lobster mac and cheese to round things out. It was good, just didn't hit quite as hard as I remember. My friend left happy though, so that's a win. The soup was the New England Clam Chowda. It had good flavor, but was thinner than expected. The lobster roll was just okay. The bread was crispy on the top but very soggy on the bottom from the butter. The lobster was slightly sweet, but the texture was off. Some pieces were cooked well while others were rubbery. Came back here after about 4 years away. I remembered how much I loved it last time. This time I went for lobster pie. Honestly it was really good. I definitely devoured it. It's in Faneuil Hall, which really is just a huge food court, with some touristy items on kiosks along the side. There were several places with seafood, and we randomly picked this one. Having not visited Quincy Market in probably close to 20 years, it was on my list to do so when I returned to Boston for a staff retreat and was staying nearby. My main objectives were to order a lobster roll and enjoy some whole fried clams -- the former I achieved at Wicked Lobster. Their lobster rolls are spot on there as I enjoyed their Traditional Maine Lobster Roll stood against the wall across from the counter where I ordered. There's something earnest about finding a nook away from walking traffic and just noshing away at a glorious lobster roll, savoring the lobster crab and tail meat combined with the mayo and seasonings. Price-wise is on point with what I saw at the other vendors selling lobster rolls, and I felt the portion size was best here. They do have a one-pound lobster roll (yes, one pound of pure lobster meat) for about $90 before state tax, but at that point, you might as well order some lobster bisque or lobster pie with a traditional roll if you want to have your fix. read more

Touristy AF, but since I was a tourist, it was on point. Conveniently located in the heart of historic Faneuil Hall, it was a perfect way to round out my day of sightseeing and shopping. The business was fast and bustling on Friday near lunch time, but the line moved quickly and my food came out pretty quickly. It's a walk up counter, then you take your food to go to enjoy in the food court tables or from one of the benches outside while listening to busker music. I had the lobster Mac which of course was delicious. Pretty decent amount of lobster and nice creamy buttery pasta. It was a generous portion that I couldn't even finish. It also came with a slice of garlic bread which I was way too full to eat, but that the pigeons enjoyed after a seagull pulled it out of the trashcan for them. And it set me back a ridiculous $20 for a tiny 6-8oz cup. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE. Now, I've had a lot of lobster bisque in my time; I also live in Baltimore so I am used to the prices of seafood, and these prices are high even by usual standards. I recently had the best lobster roll of my life for $38 in Baltimore, at an expensive and fancy restaurant. Charging $40 from a food hall stand in a city where lobster is supposedly local is criminal. Anyway, back to the bisque. It was the blandest, most tasteless soup I've ever had. Extremely disappointing. They did have a lot of lobster meat in it, that was good. But it didn't taste particularly fresh. This bisque was like if you just placed pre-cooked lobster pieces in hot cream. There was no taste, no salt, no seasoning at all. I kept piling oyster crackers in because they were ADDING flavor. Imagine oyster crackers having more flavor than the soup. It was dismal. So disappointing. Never again. And I sincerely hope I save a few people from a $20 mistake. Also the spoon was terrible. These are pretty petite. Third, quality. Lobster is overcooked, a little rubbery, and slathered in so much mayo you can't even taste it. It could have been chicken and, blindfolded, we wouldn't have been able to tell. They were looking for a sucker, and, sad to say, they found one in me. I could have walked a little and gotten a superior product at James Hook, but I was trying to be efficient.
