Pretty good but nothing spectacular. Super skimpy portions of lobster on the sandwich. Prices are steep. Service was friendly, though. I would not come back, but I wouldn't not recommend this place either.

OH MY GOD! SoCal girl visiting Boston and I wanted to experience my first lobster roll ever. We tried other places at 2pm and they were full so we headed here and my goodness we should've come here in the first place! It is very unassuming from the outside and the inside could use some love but I don't care. You can lose the aesthetics as long as the food is phenomenal and that's exactly what this was. The clam chowder was UNREAL! Best clam chowder I have ever had. It was so creamy and delicious. We thought the bowl was tiny when I came out but it was a perfect side because it was so rich. The lobster was taaaastyyy. So happy with it and the lobster was thick and chunky and tasted fresh. The toasted and buttered roll it came on added that extra layer of flavor. Excited to come back to Boston and definitely stop in here after a day of Newbury St shopping!

We got the lobster ramen and marina bay platter. Seafood is fresh with lobster being fresh and had a nice texture. I do not however recommend the lobster ramen as it is instant noodles with lobster in it. Marina bay was good fish was a good size

Tried the Lobster Roll (warm with butter) and onion rings. They were out of Lobster bisque :( I wasn't a fan of the Lobster roll, to me, the Lobster was rubbery and I had to spit out a couple bites. Just wasn't my thing. My boyfriend said tje onion rings were "ok". The service was great, really friendly servers. We sat outside and it was beautiful, really enjoyed that. I still rated a "4" because of everything was good but I guess Lobster rolls just arent my thing. If you are familiar with the InKind app, they are on there so we saved $20 by spending at least $60.

I got the Bostonian sandwich made cold with mayo - this is WAYYY better than any other lobster roll with butter and also had the Chowdah (we demolished immediately) which is from a generations-old-recipe. I cannot recommend this place enough, it felt like we were having lunch with family or friends that we knew for ages. Very clean restaurant, super welcoming staff, and got to meet the chef too who was extremely humble and friendly. You HAVE to try this place if you're in Boston!!

One of the better value lobster spots around, I think. Indoor and outdoor dining, service is friendly and efficient. Convenient location as well. Lobster is always pricey though, so definitely hurts a bit. The chowdah is pretty good, not fully sure if it's from Legal, but worth getting. Bostonian - always gotta get a specialty, and this was it. Less meat than the standard, but you get the fundamental experience with some savings which can't hurt. Order it hot with butter. The bread is buttered and toasted well. May not fully fill an appetite, but close. Lobstah Mac - wanted to spice it up so tried something new on visit 2. While more filling than the lobster rolls, it's not as tasty. Bowtie pasta, fair amount of cheese, and lobster meat make up a decent combo, but lobster and bread is unmatched. Skip this and just order a roll.

We came here on Thanksgiving day. We were excited. I checked out reviews before we went. The lobster rolls were decent. Husband ordered chicken philly sandwich and he said it was really good. He also liked the clam chowder. I also ordered the lobster Mac cheese and that was good. The place itself. Eeehhh. The bathrooms were pretty gross. Husband said the men's bathroom was dirty too. I wouldn't visit this place again. Not for the price we paid either (over $167) Server was very friendly.

First time trying Lobstah on a Roll in Boston! The service was awesome and everyone was super nice. The lobster roll was decent -- I went with the cold one (not a butter person), but it was a little plain. The salad was just lettuce and tomato, which surprised us PNW folks lol. BUT the clam chowder?? Absolute star of the meal, it was creamy, flavorful, and sooo good! Great experience!

I absolutely loved my lobster roll here! This restaurant has a prime location on newbury street and sells a very good lobster roll for a decent price. I believe the 4 oz lobster roll was $39. The fries and salad were okay. I wish they put in a little bit of effort to make this spot look cute since it has so much potential, but it is a bit run down unfortunately.

My very first meal was dining here and it was amazing. It wasn't too busy and staff were able to seat my right away - it was a Saturday night too! I ordered the 6oz lobster roll and lobster bisque. The roll came with hot butter on the size so I could control how much went on top. The 6oz was a true 6oz packed with both tail and claw meat. The bisque was very rich and creamy, with plenty of chunks of lobster inside. This was a great first meal and one of my favorites!

Good little hole in the wall place. Conveniently located between all the shops. The prices were higher than what was listed on the menu which is kinda annoying but understandable. I got the lobster grilled cheese and it was really good. Overall good little neighborhood spot. Service was pretty quick- I think we were in and out within 20 mins.

Slow service even they are not busy. We ordered lobster ramen and 2 fried combo (clam strips and oysters) and red bean shaved ice. Everything was so so, the best was the shaved ice that was light and soft. Picked this place out of all the restaurants at Newbury St because inKind app offer. Spend $60 and get $20 off but I got the mystery offer which was spend $50 and $25 off. Not that bad that I only need to pay $48 including tips for 2 people. Mostly I will spend more if I ate at other restaurants.

Love this place. It was my first time there earlier this week. Very reasonable prices and very filling. Portion sizes for sandwiches are great. The host was very friendly, and loved the vibe. Knowing it's in Newbury Street, I was sort of expecting a pretentious, upscale, snooty type of establish at firstZ Far from it, it felt as if it's a fisherman's spot by a marina. The blue string lights bordering the ceiling made the place really cool looking. The neon light decoration and when it comes to dining, they get an A+ for super large napkins. I'm the type of person that normally would go through 10+ napkins at most places. The big 2 napkins they gave we like paper hand towels and lasted me the whole time. Ordered the fish sandwich, was done well. Also had the lobster bisque, and the clam strips with fries. Love shoestring fries which I'm glad they gave. Big bonus: larger squeeze bottles of ketchup providing, and they also have malt vinegar. When I want my ketchup, trust me, I want my ketchup. Clam strips had a nice batter and tartar sauce was delicious. My only critique is the lobster bisque is quite thick and heavy. I was expecting a lighter, runnier version. But it's perfect on a winter's day and you get your fill's worth. The cup was more than enough for it. Looking forward to trying the clam chowder, and my favorite dessert: key lime pie (I was just too full for that one sitting).

Italian Sub: $20 for a foot long, the meat was so plentiful it's almost overflowing, enough for two meals. The prisciutto was tender and juicy; the salami was firm and savory with a strong smokiness. Both are thinly sliced, so despite the thick stack, it was relatively easy for a bite. The provolone cheese was also generously portioned, with a robust yet not spicy flavor and a subtle nutty aroma, perfectly complementing the two meats. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar were particularly outstanding: mellow, tangy, and with a fruity aroma of grapes, key to the complex flavor profile. The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were all fresh, especially the onions were refreshing and a little zingy, perfect for removing the greasiness. Unfortunately, I was worried about not being able to roll it back up properly and making it inconvenient to carry (which it actually happened), so I took it away and ate it at the office. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.

When we walked up around 7:30 pm, the outdoor seating on this beautiful day was already full. Good sign to start! Since it was a bit windy, we asked for an indoor table and were brought in immediately, no wait. To quench my thirst, I opted for a Storrow Jam libation- a blueberry, vodka, sparkling water, lemon flavored drink. Absolutely refreshing and well presented! My pal ordered their spin on a Cuban and swapped out the chips for the dill pasta side. He loved it so much that it was gone on minutes. Being a fan of ground meats, I opted for the Hajj, a ground lamb, tzatziki, Mediterranean style sandwich. It was well flavored and large, and came with a side salad. I shared the sandwich with my friend, but agreed that his crispy Cuban was a bit tastier. We ended the evening with a bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream to share. Massive portions! We both enjoyed to our hearts' delight, and the one dessert could have easily been shared with a third person. Our wait staff was so pleasant- friendly and warm from the start. They really made this experience shine! This is quite a pricy spot in the heart of Boston, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for sandwiches. However, the elegance of the food is up there and it's a unique experience to pick a meal from a handful of the top chefs.
