The water temperature in a shower wouldn't get below scalding. Another plumber told us they would have to break through a wall to fix the problem. We called Reeg Plumbing. They replaced some parts without breaking through a wall, but the temperature was still too hot. Talked to the owner who was very knowledgeable about the faucet system we had. He came out himself and figured out the problem which involved our recirculation pump and some defective rings on our new parts. The owner did not charge us for his time. We have been using Reeg for awhile now and have found that their plumbers are much more knowledgeable than other plumbers we have used. Last year Scott suggested installing an expansion tank on our hot water tank which solved another plumbing problem we were having. They know what they are doing. read more

Unbelievable service! Our ejector pit stopped working at 10pm on Christmas. Chris (the owner) answered the phone! Helped me make sure that it was just the plumbing in the basement we needed to avoid before scheduling an appointment for the next day (Saturday). Scott came out. He was so efficient while being thorough. He explained everything he was doing even though the replacement pump was a flat fee and he wasn't "on the clock." He also noticed a few things that would improve the set up of our ejector pit, explained them, and went ahead and took care of them while he was here. Chris came out to fix a gas leak at a valve behind our stove, and took the time to give recommendations on a couple other trouble areas with water supply pipes. I hired Dan Reeg Plumbing install a new kitchen faucet, a replacement for a 15 year old Moen pull-out which had been leaking and whose handle had finally broken. After replacing the broken handle parts myself (with the aid of instructional YouTubes) resulted in a still leaking faucet, Moen offered me a brand new one (list price about $375) for the cost of shipping (yippeee!). I had no desire to do the install myself, so I called Reeg (based on their location and Yelp reviews) and scheduled the install to occur the day after the faucet was scheduled to arrive, and was given a reasonable two-hour window of 1-3PM. Sean arrived on time, did a wonderful job on the installation, and was very tolerant of our puppy who I was constanly having to keep away from him so that he could get his work done. After inspecting it, Sean told me that the faucet had not been installed correctly and that there was a chance he might need to remove the entire granite countertop to replace it. I knew the initial plumbers who did my kitchen install (contract plumbers for the now-defunct Design Expo) were buffoons, so I was disgusted instead of surprised by this news. After quite a struggle (during which I excused myself to another room to fret about the possibility of a simple plumbing job exploding into something much larger), Sean was able to remove the old faucet and had its replacement working beautifully very soon afterwards. I was pleased with Reeg's service and skill, especially considering that I was hiring them for such a small plumbing job. Would hire them again for sure. read more

He measured the location of the leak and determined it not to be a plumbing issue, but a caulking and improper shower installation. The service provider we had at our home from Dan Reeg was the most professional, efficient, knowledgeable service provider I've ever had to my house. We were billed for 2 hours of labor which my husband did not notice when he paid the plumber. In actuality, they were here only for 1-1/2 hours. My husband called that afternoon and was told by Chris that we would receive a refund of $70 for 1/2 hour of labor by Monday. When we had not received it by Wednesday, I called and told the receptionist. No call back. My husband left a message for Dan Reeg to call Friday. No call back. Had a sudden leak in the sink supply shutoff valve. Closing the valve didn't help since the leak was in the valve itself, so I had water all over the place until I shut off the main supply to the house. Called Reeg (after they were closed -- these things never happen in the middle of the day!). Talked to Chris, who came right over, quickly cut out the leaking valve and soldered in a new higher quality valve. Chris was personable, professional, very proficient, and fast. I called yesterday (11/11/2014) and got a prompt call back with advice about possible cost, and an offer to come out the next day. I accepted the offer, but then was talking to so many plumbers, I couldn't keep track of who had agreed to come. I called back today, and he had me confused with someone else I guess, and said they couldn't come out till Monday. We had a long chat where he gave me advice about likely costs for the service (rodding out kitchen drain of a 2-flat via the catchbasin, installing a clean-out on the drain line, etc.) and recommendations of other local plumbers to call. It turns out that they did already have me on the schedule for today, per the conversation from the day before, but in the meantime I'd already had a recommended local guy come out and do it. I wasn't home for any of this, so I have to call tomorrow to apologize. They seem like great guys though, very accurate advice and prompt service - confusion was all my own doing really. read more
