have been eating here for many years but Friday night was not a good dinner. the restaurant appeared to be short handed of staff who appeared unhappy and confused about the number of people. we always make reservations. the food was luke warm and the fish bites were cool. two soups were also not like the seafood bisque we usually have. the sauces for the beef tacos was so spicey and they were difficult to eat as the shell fell apart to touch. luckily it was happy hour and prices were better than the usual $75 to 100:pp. we will try again earlier than 6:30 Next time. We ate here several years ago and had a nice dinner. It has been several years now but we had an unplanned stop for dinner Sunday night and were very impressed. Eddie, our waiter, was pleasant and helpful and the food was excellent. The wedge salad was charred romaine as a base and was large enough to split. The seafood pasta was top notch and enough for dinner the next night. My wife enjoyed the Four great lakes fish entree and overall a very nice night. Our stay was at the Cambria Suites in Traverse City and this is the associated Restaurant within the hotel. We made dinner reservations while driving up 131 heading into town. The restaurant setting is slightly off the lobby with a few added tabled around the bar. Quaint little setting, tables with linens, nicely set. We had a few cocktails at the bar and then entered the Restaurant area to be seated. The menu was fairly self explanatory with a few questions upon ordering. My wife ordered the Lake Huron Yellow Perch and I ordered the Great Lakes 4...which included, Smoked whitefish cake, dusted perch, sautéed walleye and fried smelt with pilaf and asparagus. I also added the Lobster Bisque to my entree because it sounded inviting. The Lobster Bisque was outstanding!! It included a 4oz tail to the soup. The rest of the meal was exceptional as well. But it doesn't end here...... For the next couple mornings we had breakfast here as well. To summarize we had eggs with Michigan Maple Sausage, Build your own Omelet, Cambria Benedict with all the fix-ens. The service as well as every meal was outstanding. People were lingering around in their sweats with their bags. None of the chairs matched...I mean some were worn red, browns and some were sunken in leather. During my recent trip to traverse city, I just had to try this place out ( given its reviews on trip advisor). I went for the prime rib hash. I was super excited to give this a try! It didn't blow me like I had hoped. I may have set My expectations a little too high beforehand. I felt like the primw rib was heated up from the night before. Service was ok. There was another waitress serving another table who was incredibly charismatic. Maybe sitting at her section changes your experience. First of all this restaurant was fantastic the employees who work here are fine people, who are attentive and very kind. Our server was amazing and I enjoyed how they recommended foods to try. Our table started with the cheese charcuterie board, which was fantastic. You can tell the chefs took a lot of time crafting this masterpiece of a board, the board had a variety of different cheeses fruits, and a delicious pull-apart Asiago baguette. As for the 1st course, it was amazing and set the mood and showed me what reflect bistro had to offer. I had the reflect crispy chicken which is in my opinion the best-tasting chicken I've ever had. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and was cooked to absolute perfection, the sandwich also had melted provolone garlic mayo, and pickles which weren't only delicious but complimented the sandwich in every way. I got fries with my sandwich but I guess the staff forgot which was fine so I waited once I got them. The fries were delicious the potato was cooked to what I would say should be the gold standard to cook a potato. Overall the 2nd course was amazing and it left room for dessert. Lastly, Our table finished off with the chocolate lava cake. This cake was made beyond our expectations and sealed the deal at the end of the night. The cake was soft and fluffy and it practically melts in your mouth, the cake was complimented by whip cream strawberries which were arranged to look like a flower, and a creamy rich vanilla bean ice cream. The 3rd dish was truly amazing, and something I would recommend if you come to the reflect bistro. In conclusion, the reflect bistro is amazing. The staff and restaurant were but together and it was well mannered. The food was amazing and is what the culinary arts industry should be held to. It was weird to go into a hotel for brunch but it was so worth it! The picture doesn't do the food justice. I had the Italian Benedict and my friend had one of the hashes. The foccacia bread on the Benedict was divine. It soaked up the egg, was flavorful, and so delicate. We also got the pancakes on the waiter's recommendation. She said they were the best pancakes in town and - yeah. Hands down. Best pancakes I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone. I've wanted to try this restaurant, which is in the lobby of the Cambria Suites, for a long time do to it's #1 rank on TripAdvisor. Now that I have, I can honestly say I don't get it. The experience was perfectly fine, and if I were staying at the hotel, I'd be happy it was there. But with so many fantastic restaurants in the area, I will not likely return. The service was good, but our server smelled very strongly of cigarettes. The food was delicious, but nothing special. The restaurant itself is tucked in a corner of the hotel lobby and we were sat next to the windows with a lovely view of the parking lot. Bottom line? We did not get to eat here as we wanted. We came in Friday night, and Sarah was the host. It was my husband, our 13 month old infant, and myself. As we walked in we asked for a table. Sarah rudely looked at us and saw baby food in my hand. She rolled her eyes, walked to the back and asked her manager if it was ok for us to bring baby food inside/ if she can seat us?! Sarah said our server Kyle will be right with us and that she would not take our order. Which is fine, hostess' don't take orders. As we were waiting on Kyle, who never came,our infant started crying and Kyle wasn't present with more food to give our baby to calm him down- I broke out our baby food. Sarah runs over and flips out on us for getting our BABY FOOD out to chill out of infant! Then says she will grab us a fruit cup for us to pay for..... the reason why I'm bringing this up is because she wouldn't take our app order but then flips out on us and says she can ring us up for this other food. She was very rude and not professional. We got up and left. We are not going to deal with this kind of energy. We are on a trip for our anniversary and this is not what we were expecting. I've never heard or seen a restaurant with this kind of mentality if the restaurant agrees with her behavior. Or a restaurant asking to parents to pour out an infants milk bottle, because they serve milk. It's the same thing. Had the steak with the blueberry marmalade, shrimp, calamari (this is a twist on calamari you have never seen) had the beat salad which was super refreshing, I personally wasn't a fan of the dressing so maybe ask for it on the side. We've lived in Traverse City for 5 years now and have tried several brunch spots all over the city. This morning we decided to give Reflect Bistro a try, and it did not disappoint. Our toddler, who is in a picky eating stage right now, ate almost every morsel on his plate. He loved the French toast and bacon. For $5, this kids breakfast was huge and tasty. My eggs Benedict was out of this world. I love a good bene and try different ones everywhere I go. I had never had it on focaccia before, but I am now in love with this version and will return to have it as often as possible. My husband loved his farm omelette with steak tips and roasted potatoes. He normally picks at food and doesn't finish meals, but he was so enamored with it, he just kept eating. As for the atmosphere, it was lovely. We liked the intimate feel, the nice linens, the excellent service, and the sunny room with big windows! We can't wait to tell our friends and family about this lovely brunch experience. I'm not sure if the kitchen had an off night in this case, but many of the ingredients were not cooked properly.
