They provide many activities for the residents. The leave welcome notes all around the building welcoming new residents. They have anniversary celebrations. The have awesome technology staff. The maintenance crew are the best. They entire facility provides excellent care. They make this place the kind of place that you would want your loved ones to live in their senior years.

Used this facility for my father when his Alzheimer's started to progress. They have 3 units based…read moreon their needs. Level 1 I would rate 4.5 stars. My father was still high functioning. He participated in a lot of the activities. Level 2 I would give 3.9 stars. When my father was moved to this unit I realized they don't have enough staff to keep the residents engaged. It's at this level that each resident needs more care but there isn't enough staff to deliver that care. This unit is locked so residents don't wander the facility. Level 3 is downstairs and is a little chaotic. I give this unit 3.1 stars. Not enough care for the needs of every resident exists in this unit too. When you take the tour I recommend spending 15 minutes within each unit so you get the feel for the level of care each resident receives. I do like the level of security they have in place and how clean they keep every room.

Watching competent staff working with various residents gave me a sense that they truly care about them. This is most important when selecting a place for your loved one. She fell at 2am on a Sunday. The facility is supposed to check on their residents by 9 am. No one checked on my mother that day at all. Infuriating. I talk with mother usually every Sunday so when I didn't hear back from her by Monday morning, I called Crestview to do a wellness check. Tori said she went to check on mom and said that mom was just tired but okay. So it took me calling to get them to check on her. Turns out that later in the day, another gal named Lisa, found my mom at 3pm still lying on the bathroom floor, in pain. She called 911 and my mom was taken to the hospital - after lying on the floor for 37 hours. So much for good care. We found a new place for mom and when I went to clean our mom's apt at Crestview last week, the director Christina asked to speak to me. She denied that we had left her any voice messages and said she didn't receive any - from myself, my aunt and also mom's social worker. Christina insisted we give a written 30-day notice and that mom has to pay for September rent despite her move being involuntary, as she can no longer live independently. I asked Christina if there was any way we could reach an agreement since we are not a litigious family, but she was unwilling to budge at all. OH, P.S. The State of Missouri is now investigating them for the elder abuse.

We have used a few services that you pay for such as Senior Helpers when she had a wound that needed daily tending and that was very helpful and reassuring. Also the on-site salon for haircuts and pedicures is convenient. One huge downside to caution about is that meals are not served at all on Sunday nights. This has been burdensome for our family and other residents have grumbled about this repeatedly. They get used to not cooking and then there is no meal and families are not always able to help. So then it's cold leftovers or PBJ. But that is the only down side, other than that, it's a wonderful place and we would recommend it!

The staff there directly lied to us about what they could and couldn't do, citing that it was "illegal" to have an alarm on her bed when it isn't. She has fallen 3 times this week after having surgery for her broken leg. They let our mom sit by herself for so long that she wet herself even though she isn't incontinent. Our questions were met with made up answers and we had to hire someone to sit with her and care for her so we could sleep at night. I'm not a comment poster, but this has been so horrific that I had to try to warn people.

Off the back patio I must have seen at least 4 woodpeckers and several Robins flying from tree to tree, and at the suet feeders. It was a beautiful and active scene! After a tour of his home and a nice comfortable visit we walked to the main building for lunch, and they were having an Easter event in one of the large rooms where we talked to some of the delightful staff. We went on to the very nice Dining Room and had a meal fit for a king! He had reserved a very nicely set table next to large windows which open up to one of the nice natural setting courtyards. The food was great and the service was friendly and efficient. I know my Uncle is happy here and he gets lots of family who comes to see him and they are very satisfied with his freedom to do things and his social involvement. I'd say this is a great retirement community!

Food service and quality is average at best but not worthy of the cost of rents. Facilities are neglected. Common areas are dated, worn, and rarely updated. Infrastructure issues go unfixed. Some longer-term staff are dedicated despite stress. Residents are by and large wonderful, accomplished people.

Mom was a registered nurse until she retired at the ripe old age of 83 and the last 30+ years of her career was spent in nursing homes and care facilities, so she knew what she wanted in one for herself. While Mom was at Southview, she was well taken care of, and despite having a difficult personality (to say the least...), the staff was always friendly and accommodating whenever I came to visit and as I watched my mom interact with them. The facility was clean, attractive, and updated. It is a smaller facility, which is what my mom wanted, and there were many activities available. My mom's space was perfect for her while she was a resident there.

The first one was two weeks ago when I posted a one star, due to having a loved one in the Memory Care unit,and in a year,especially the last few months saw it seriously decline,and was witness to some disturbing incidences,and lack of any kind of sense. I am now giving three stars due to how quickly and efficiently they responded,and took action. Clearly they pay attention to reviews. Two days after posting my initial review,this unit had done a 180° ! Employees who were problematic had been let go,the staff was working as a diligent team,treating eachother and residents with help and kindness without bickering or complaining,tasks getting done in a routine manner,and more managers present. I emailed them to let them know how impressed I was with what I saw and then had a terrific conversation with the overall director . She took no sides,just addressed and took action professionally. It has been so different visiting my "Nona" this last 4 visits,and I give kudos to them for their attention to addressing their problems .
