I guess not a lot of people go to the movies here. This theater have recliner chair and serves food and normal theater goodies. We were trying to kill time with the kids so we came to watch Spiderman far from home on Friday night. There wasn't that many people there even on a Friday night. I doubt that I'll ever come back to this location. I walked into the theater in a good mood, ready to watch Pet Sematary, but ended up leaving without seeing because of the atrociously unprofessional staff. It started the moment I walked in. The girl checking tickets got offended by my attempt to show her my pass on my phone. She barked at me and told me to "put it underneath" to validate it, and then continued with the rude behavior when telling me where the movie was playing. I shook it off, and headed to the concessions stand for some ridiculously overpriced snacks. I stood behind two guys who purchased what they wanted, and then stepped forward. The woman behind the counter made a big effort to ignore me, so I said, "hi" to get attention. She kind of glared at me, and told me that the register was "shut down", and that I would have to go to the other end of the counter for service. I guess she thought I hadn't seen her providing service to the previous customers. That officially put a damper on my experience. I walked away from the concessions stand entirely, and started to go see my movie, but then decided to have a word with the management. I asked someone at the concessions stand to summon a manager for me, only for her to come back and asked what it was regarding. This is such a lazy and unprofessional response for a manager to have, but I played along and said it was regarding customer service. Two bad experiences back-to-back warrant a complaint. You can imagine my surprise when the same woman who had rudely shooed me away turned out to be a manager. I told her that I was just going to leave, because, what's the point of complaining to the person who caused the problem? I found another manager outside, a man who was hanging out in the box office counting change and and talking to his employees. No other customers were around, which made his response to my asking if he were a manager rather perplexing. It was clear that he didn't want to be bothered, especially not with answering my question. He just rudely said, "what do you need?" I just left at that point. Called customer service today and got a refund on my gift card, but I doubt that I'll ever use it. read more

It's a nice movie theater because the state seating is very comfortable. Of course I can eat early theater we're gonna have very expensive drinks popcorn other consumable items. The bathrooms are fairly clean and people are nice and friendly. I had a good time at the movie and this is kind of movie theater you have to select your seats so just be prepared to select your seats when you get there. Enjoy read more

Every single time I visit this theatre, it is always super clean. A few years ago they put in new chairs and they are comfortable and clean - not the auto recliners, but still recline a little bit. The picture and sound is always crystal clear for every picture that is shown and one of their managers, Brandon Brock is always in the box office ready to help out anyone experiencing a problem. I would definitely recommend this theatre, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, even an ice cream shoppe. Let's all, go to the movies! read more

Love the new seats at Westgate....so comfy! This is definitely a good place to hit up for a chill night at the movies. I definitely miss not having a menu for food and service during the movie, but the seats help offset that... Some. Parking is easy and convenient and check in via phone is a plus. The staff is friendly but kind of slow. They do have some alcohol choices, but it is all very over priced. Overall not a a bad experience. Hopefully in the future a full menu! read more

Honestly this is probably my go to theater if they have playing whatever movie I am looking to see. Why you ask, when there are so many probably better options? Let me explain... Due to the fact that there are better options around for movie theaters this one is usually less crowded. Also they do not serve food like at Alamo, movie tavern, movie eatery ..etc. So when I go here do not purchase something I don't really want. I always feel like at those other places that I should order something. I don't prefer eating a large meal in the dark and I would rather eat somewhere better. I am also already spending enough money to see the movie I don't always want to spend the extra $10-50 on other stuff. So with this theater I don't have to worry about that. It is old school. If you want something from the concessions you can decide that before you go into the theater. I also choose to go here when I can because they have a regal gold crown, which is their version of the loyalty card. Every time I get tickets at any regal theater or something from the concessions they swipe my card. I earn free tickets and free snacks. I usually get at least one to two free tickets a year and I do not go to the movie often. So for me it is totally worth it! Overall I just like how understated this theater is. It is comfortable, the theater is well kept, staff is friendly and the seats are comfy. I will be back. read more

I so want to like this theatre. They've got fantastic, clean reclining seats. A convenient location. Tons of legroom. Good bathrooms. Showtimes are rarely sold out. But importantly, they don't project movies correctly. (Keep in mind, some of this may not matter to the average Jane. But if you are AV-minded, listen up.) I've been to several movies, and I've walked out of a few of them. Most of their projections are too dim; this is due to (1) use of 3D projectors on 2D films without checking light levels, and (2) reducing the brightness of costly bulbs to reduce rate of replacement. Compared to a superior projection, images in most of their theatres appear dull and lifeless. This is exacerbated by brighter than average house lighting. In a showing of The Greatest Showman, a foggy lens made dark scenes look like a bootleg recording. I've even had to ask the theatre to fix misaligned or blurry images. Since the theatre doesn't have an on-site projectionist and their digital projectors require authentication, most of these issues cannot be fixed before a screening. Please, please speak up if you notice these issues: it's really the only way they'll improve. And I hope they do. read more

I have been here twice to and Watched Star Wars - The Last Jedi and Thor Ragnorak. My experience on both occasions has been very disappointing due to the poor audio. The sound bass is weak and the dialogue is barely audible. I get better sound at home which is sad. I have spoken to the staff multiple times about this and they don't seem to care about my feedback. Please let me know when this is fixed and I will come back. I would be here every WEEK because I live across the street but I can't stand how bad the sound system is here so I'd rather go to another theatre. read more

This theater literally stinks! The seats are out of date and smell like a moldy locker room. It's not just one of the screens that's like this, so far it has been all of them. Moreover, the image displayed is very dim. Colors that should be vibrant are dull. My girlfriend and I watched Rocket man last night and nothing popped like it looks on trailers in other theaters or at home. The sound was from meh to ok. The pop was good, but not enough ice in my drink, so it got warm. That's ok, cutting back on soda anyway. The gentleman at the concession stand seemed to be over it and was a bit unfriendly while taking order and serving us. Overall, my girlfriend and I have decided not to go there anymore. Why would we? Alamo draft house and Cinemark have better seating, and better price per ticket. They have better reward programs and discounts for being members. Yes, it is fun to have an entire bottle of wine (shared!) and spaghetti squash pomodoro delivered to you at your seat. But now that I've found the world's most comfy reclining (even put your feet up) seats, I'm going to come here more often unless I just really need to combine dinner with my movie. The tickets are a little cheaper and it's incredibly nice to not have a waiter walking around whispering at you during the movie. They now serve alcohol. Minus a star that it was $10 for a 5 ounce pour. The theater was super clean and uncrowded. Getting popcorn and drinks took a while, I think our cashier was new - a line started forming behind us while we ordered 3 items and I felt like THOSE people, even though I swear we weren't! I love going to the movies during early screenings and this place is one of my favorites. The recliners are a great addition, the sound is spot on, and the A/C is perfect. There is nothing like seeing a movie in a theater. The staff is very good here as well. I was one of those "customers" and asked to have my seat location changed. The manager was very nice about it and took care of me in seconds, was much appreciated. Got a free ticket to see a movie here through the Atom app. Went, and almost missed the start of the movie due to the long line at concessions. Seats are poorly labeled so people kept asking me to move even though they were in the wrong places. It was annoying. Place was marginally clean and my seat was not able to recline despite others in my row being able to do so. But the ticket was free, so I can't complain too much. read more

Overall we were happy they were showing the movie we had intended to watch on a busy Saturday night. Staff is super friendly. The thing that gets me is it is super duper outdated. I went to sit in my reclining chair and it shifted and moved and was not secure . They've upgraded their seats! Yesterday was a super comfortable viewing of Baywatch. We ordered our tickets online, but there was a bit of a line out front when we got there. Concessions ran pretty smoothly even though we ordered something that took a few minutes to 'cook'. Pretzel bites. Pretty tasty dipped in their queso blanco. Same for the nachos. This theater was convenient and comfortable with recline chairs. They have a refillable popcorn tub and decent red wine. The prices for stuff are a bit rich, but par for the course. I had a draft review saved, prepared to give four stars. I realized today that this place deserves five stars when I told my spouse I didn't want to go to Alamo Drafthouse or anywhere else because "Regal's recliners have me spoiled." There's little better than kicking back and relaxing in one of those chairs while enjoying a new movie. Now, there's no food or drink service from waiters inside the theater, but usually I'm not interested in that during my movie experience anyhow. The concession stands have a fair variety of things, and if you're looking to stay on the healthier side, they offer three varieties of the GoPicnic boxes you can get in stores. The coin machines in the restroom even have a good selection of medicine, sour spray (yum), etc., but they also have a machine that dispenses m&m's and other candies into a cup once you start heading toward the different theaters, and they're actually not that over priced per serving compared to what you'd buy in the store. The restrooms themselves are plentiful, large, and clean. The parking lot is spacious. The staff are friendly. There are a few arcade games at both sides of the entrances, including my favorite, air hockey. This is a solid theater and I'm lucky to live so close to it. Woohoo! read more

I felt inclined to review in response to so many negative ones that I've seen (for theaters in general). First moving outing for me post COVID shutdowns, but I found the theater to be clean with a lot of helpful and friendly folks working behind the counter and at the ticket line. It's nice to have the powered reclining seats and also nice that the walk ways in between the rows are large enough for easy travel. Screen and audio was also good. read more

Absolutely disgusting, sad and outdated. There was puke all the floor, sticky seats and sticky floors. It took them 20 minutes to even get around to cleaning up the puke (why the f would you even let patrons into a theatre with vomit all over the floor before you cleaned and sanitized the area?!) Clearly they do not clean the theaters between screenings or somebody would have caught the puke before people entered the area. The staff is apathetic, rude and useless. The popcorn was terrible, it tasted like I'd imagine old shoes covered in grease would. The screens are small and the sound is skewed to top it all off. Do not waste your money here! read more

Okay ya'll, real talk. Regal Cinemas had a makeover and it was not in the news. I did not read about it in the Community Impact, or hear about it on Twitter or Do512 or even other Yelpers. Though, to be fair, I am probably, 80% of the south Austin Yelp contingency so, who am I really mad at? Regal has always been a little nicer than the surrounding mass movie theaters: it's smaller, easily accessible by bus, car, bike, or foot, there's the Amy's, Hyde Park Cafe, and Central Market right there. I've seen a fair amount of movies here over the years but had not been since they upgraded the menu and seating. They have reclining seats. That you can buy in advance and reserve on Fandango. Just like in the real 2010s, y'all. They even upgraded the menu a bit to include things like corndog bites and "boneless chicken wings" (um, 'chicken nuggets?', yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what they meant). It'll still cost you a cool $17 for two medium sodas and a medium p-corn, but it's the movies and you know that's the deal. At least you got a good seat to sit in that you chose before hand so you don't gotta rush and, once you know which theatre and seats you like, you know what's up for next time. I'm not going to divulge all my secrets but there's many ways going to a theatre like this is exactly the happy medium between full-of-themselves-Alamo and not-worth-the-money/hassle [insert any other place in a strip center]. By upgrading just a couple things, Regal is very strategically placing themselves right in that bracket for the savvy, middle-of-the-road movie goer. Also, their popcorn is as good as the Boy Scouts, the soap in the bathroom as nice as Blackheart's, and the have the newest Dyson hand dryers I've seen and I felt relatively well traveled before I went to the movies today. You had me at recliner seating. Nice sized screen, great Barcaloungers, big tub of popcorn. We sat back on our La-Z-Boys and hunkered in for almost as good of a movie viewing experience as it gets for me. If only there was a Pecan Porter in site, you'd be my one and only Regal.
