This rating has nothing to do with the food, since I never got the opportunity to. I wanted to order breakfast for my friend and I. We were staying in an Airbnb 7 minutes away on vacation but were too tired to drive. I placed an order for 3 breakfast tacos and huevos rancheros around 8:25 am. It said it would arrive between 9:15-9:25am. We had a 5 hour bus ride to catch to take us back home at 9:30 but I wasn't too worried since the bus stop was very close. However I get a notification that it would be delayed. Still wanting our food we tried calling the restaurant 5 times to see if we could just go and pick it up but never answered. We decided to just forget about the food and head to the station. Turns out our food didn't get delivered till 10 am. Initially walking in the place was packed so that is always a good sign. Once we sat ourselves it took a long time before they took or drink order since we knew what we wanted we placed our order. The food took a long time to come out ...we were keeping in mind that it was a full house. The food came out and damn it was worth the wait ! First of all I like how they played a variety of music, salsa, merengue and Mexican music. Now the food, wan very yummy. You will be full after eating here. The huevos rancheros were good, the barbacoa on the oily side, but you can't just have dried up barbacoa, right? The only downside to this place is that the servers gossip about the customers at times. They should wait until everyone is gone and then talk about a certain customer or whatever they want to say about their day just don't do that in front of other customers. I've lived in San Antonio for a little less than a year and a half, but I've definitely found a home in this place. Great service from a polite, courteous (not to mention bilingual) wait staff with a kitchen knocking out consistently-good food to top it all off. The tortillas are always on point! And the specials, breakfast and lunch, can't be bested. For the price you get good ingredients which always seems an issue at affordable Mexican restaurants/cafes. Great place to bring anyone new to San Antonio homestyle Mexican fare without the dingy/hole in the wall vibe. My only beef are the hours as I wish they extended a bit longer, but it's more than understandable due to the style/kind of crowd they bring in. Ohhhh yeah... Good home-style cooking, FTW! I bumped in to Joe R at a coffee shop down the street and we decided to follow our Yelp app to a new lunch spot. Traveling down McCullough, we stumbled on Regio Cafe and decided we'd try it out since it had 4.5 stars on Yelp and neither of us had eaten there. As usual, Yelp was right! We both opted for the two enchilada lunch special, which ran us about $7 each, including a tea. The plate was goooooood. (All those o's are necessary, yes.) My enchilada was smothered in tasty gravy, the beans were perfectly flavored and the spanish rice was insanely good. I'm usually not one to eat the rice, but here, I practically licked my plate clean. Also, make sure you ask for some chips and salsa to start. The chips are made there and had an especially good flavor to my taste buds. And service was excellent. Super friendly, prompt and done with a smile. I've only picked up tacos from this place a couple times in the morning and they are great. Nice big tacos. Fluffy flour tortillas that taste homemade. They use American cheese and that's my fave! Excellent service my coffee cup never went under 1/2 full. Each and every waitress was very attentive to all tables. The food was Great! I am an Uber driver and like to stop for breakfast after my morning route. I was told by a customer that this was a great breakfast stop and so I stopped in for my favorite dish: huevos rancheros with barbacoa. I was thoroughly disappointed. The barbacoa was unedible, the beans tasted like they came out of a can and the frozen potatoes were undercooked. I ended up with food poisoning and couldn't work the remainder of the day. Restaurant is quite chaotic but food was really good. I had the carne quisada which was very tasty and tender with the only drawback that had a little more fat and not trimmed to my liking but the flavor was excellent. Decided to try this place out since I saw good remarks from fellow Yelpers. First issue was the parking. It's so small that I had to park next door. Once inside we sat ourselves and promptly greeted by a friendly waiter. He brought us our drinks and took our order. The food came out quick and hot. The sweet tea tasted old, but other than that everything else was delicious! However, our waiter never came back to see if everything was alright or if we needed anything else.
