    10/01/2025: I purchased a Gregory weight=7-ounces, 3-liter Hydro Bladder--BPA/PVC Free!

10/01/2025: I purchased a Gregory weight=7-ounces, 3-liter Hydro Bladder--BPA/PVC Free! BTW: I've been wanting purchasing a super lightweight Hydro Bladder for years; however, the majority of previous Hydro Bladders manufactured possessed BPA AND PVC. . . Equating, I had no choice but, play the waiting game until, finally--Gregory manufactured a three-liter Hydro Bladder which only weighs seven-ounces plus, the Manufacturer's Hydro Bladder modernization is now BPA/PVC Free! Win, win for lightweight traversing, i.e., I plan using the Gregory three-liter Hydro Bladder hiking due to only weighing seven-ounces; less weight schlepping stuff inside my Pacsafe 35-liter backpack.

Merrell slip on shoe, good fit but tread wears out fast.

This is the closest REI to me, but since I'm down in the Sac area often, no biggie to drop on in. I've been a REI member for like forever as long as I can remember. NO dues or anything, like Costco! I like the return policy here, no time limit returns! This comes in handy with shoes. You gotta try them if you're buying hiking boots and just walking around the store isn't gonna let you know about the long term, like do I get blisters? I purchased Merrell walking moc shoes, cause they were slip on and I don't have to worry about tying laces all the time. They fit the best out of all the different ones I tried on here at the store. The sales people are super friendly and helpful and yes, patient! Well, these shoes work out at first but I noticed the tread on the bottom wearing down fast, way faster than 2 months of casual wear should be, not like I was doing 12 mile walks everyday! These shoes were $100.00! I brought the shoes back to the store and showed them and they looked up when I purchased them and said they can give me a refund or I could choose another pair of shoes. I love the return policy here, customer satisfaction! OK, I just got my money back and I'll think about another model of shoe. There's cheaper shoes that might work better. I'll keep coming to REI for the service and return policy!

Ariana is the Best Sales Person. My husband was looking for a backpack and also debating on a traveling duffel bag! The Nemo Double Handle duffel bag - 55L. She sold us on the duffel bag. We think the duffel bag will be better usage than the backpack such a better value. She explained she had the same one and has used it numerous times while flying. Quincey checked us out at the register and he was super helpful, friendly and liked he enjoyed his job! We being Senior Citizens, he showed us how to use Apple Pay at the register! Thank you Ariana and Quincey! Both of you are Definitely a Plus to REI! Kudos "please" to Ariana and Quincey!

First time to this REI location. It's huge and the store is gorgeous! Lots of parking, easy to find, right off the freeway by Cal Expo. I was able to find and buy exactly what I was looking for by myself. The store is very nicely merchandised and they have a huge selection at every department. I am not an outdoorsy person, and I go to REI from time to time to buy presents for family and friends. I am obviously judged from the moment I walk in and I can't tell if it's their corporate cool culture that teaches every single employee to never smile or offer assistance or maybe it's just me because I am not the REI type?? Anyway, it makes me uncomfortable every time. And not welcome. They are like efficient robots and I wish they would be helpful and warm. Tip: They sell National Parks Passes here!

I haven't been here in years. It's a big store. My wife was looking for a new travel backpack. I looked for reviews online and noticed they had 2 of them here. It is always better to see stuff in person so you know what you are getting. The two brands they had were not what she wanted. I'm so glad we tried them out so we knew right away these packs wouldn't work for her. The place is clean and has a lot of gear.

Recreational Equipment Inc aka REI has everything you need outdoors! Snowboarding, Ski, biking, running, camping, you name it... REI has what you're looking for. The hubs and I came in so that he can purchase bindings for his snowboard. For the most part they are out of a lot of things. The store is clean, but they are sold out of a lot of winter sports items, just FYI. The customer service was great. As soon as we walked up, someone helped us and sold him the only bindings left in the store. We were even able to get them installed within 20 minutes. I would highly recommend REI if you're looking for quality products at a price that matches the quality.

Could have been smaller but the smallest they had to offer that was brand new. Told the sales guy I'd be back after thinking about it. I came back about an hour later. Stood around in the store for a good 15 minutes before 2 guys that work there asked if I needed help. I told them I'm interested in getting that cargo box and asked if they could mount it for me which he said yes. OK, so they gave me the dusty floor model that had a scuff mark and spider web with spider in it. Didn't bother to at least dust it off and remove the spider if they're too lazy to get me a new in box one. Anywaus so i had to remove the cargo box, kill the spider and remount the cargo box. Smh. I gave it a gracious 2 stars because the African American employee helping me mount it was helpful otherwise I'd give it zero stars if possible.

Instead of running off to San Francisco or Sacramento, you can find clothes here. There are going to be plenty of other retail outlets doing similar things like Nordstrom Rack over at the old U-Mall. Would have been nice to have had this here in previous years though. It was also a lot of different specialties under one roof. A bit of the jack of all trades, master of none style. Buy shoes, dog food and a bicycle? This is your place. No one is going to want to do that though. The person on the phone was polite and articulate to answer what I needed. The person even remembered me when I came in the store. Very rare to get this type of service. I am assuming the bad reviews are people who were educated and felt horrified about their lack of knowledge. Gun culture is an educated culture, be prepared to learn or abide by the safety standards and rules that adhere to them. Inside the store was clean and spacious areas. The department I needed was the firearms section, which was at the far end of the shop. That being said they have a wide collection of what I say good ammo that you can rely on for self-defense. What I can also say is that they do not gouge you on prices. The prices are well within reason, and they are updated ammunition. By updated I mean that they have different casings for those who know that grains and bullet type matter. That being said, getting plinking ammunition is a good to go here. You can trust the brands they have in stock and the staff for the firearms department is knowledgeable and friendly. Keep in mind the long wait is due to either education, or the long lengthy checks to get said items. That being said, pay your taxes, pay your registration fees, do your due diligence and you're out and about easy. I may bring in my gun to get checked by their smith. But TBH American Made Baretta 9mm FS is the far superior choice than the mass produced m9 and Italian made one. I don't think I need a service on my weapon in quite some time. Do your research, some things made in America, is better and not well advertised. This goes for the ammunition as well. To the dude who helped me. Thank you, man. Thank you for your service as well. I decided to give Natomas Bike a shot, as I like to support small businesses. My past two visits however have put me off ever dealing with them again, in particular because of the owner John. I recently needed my brakes tightened, and the derailleurs needed attention as I was unable to drop into the lower gear. I left it with them, was quoted $50 , and came in to collect it 4 days later. $50 all of a sudden became $60 when John found the bill. I paid with comment, but as we were leaving the store I noticed that the rear tire was flat, and I brought to his attention immediately. I pointed out to him that this had happened to me the last time I brought my bike in. He then became very defensive, but offered to replace the tube, at my cost, I said I'd be back in 2 hours. It wasn't ready two hours later, and he became defensive, and I felt as if he was blaming me. Another $20 later, I then tested the bike in the lot, and the gear problem was still there, it had not been fixed. I was so livid by this point I didn't want to take the bike back to him, and face more confrontation. I've been in Customer Service all my working life, over 40 years, and his customer disservice has brought me here to warn others on what to expect. I'm taking my bike back to Mikes in future. It may cost me more, but at least they treat me courteously and get the job done first time.
