Staff - Hostess was friendly and responsive to providing seating outside near water for party of 11 (6 wheelchairs). Warmer outside under covered awning, also sit can in sun. There are ceiling fans outside. Restrooms have A/C. My Quad Belly - I ordered Albacore Tuna Fish Salad (light mayo, celery, iceberg, tomato, onion), side of Fresh Fruit and Sweet Tea. The reviews about this place is spot on! The food Is delicious, the service is amazing, the decor is okay, and the seating is ok. I came here on a Wednesday night just missing the happy hour, which I'll add it's 50% of drinks 11:30-7(more like happy day). I sat at the bar, I wish the bar was bigger because all of the seats were taken and we didn't want a table because we were in a slight rush. At the bar you will find all of their regulars, so if you have any questions you can even ask them lol. Laura the bartender was so nice! I wanted the sea bass, there was 1 left so she told them to hold it for me because I was waiting on my friend to arrive. I'm so glad she held it for me because that sea bass meal was everything! It hit all of the spots I needed it too! The risotto was so creamy and cheesy and the veggies just freshened things up. I'm glad Laura persuaded me to not sub out anything. My friend had the shrimp and lobster linguine and he had nothing bad to say about it. He said the lobster and shrimp were cooked to perfection. I would definitely be coming back here to try the hog fish that Laura suggested. The only reason why I'm not giving it a five star yet is because I need to come back again and see if it was just a one time thing and because of the decor. My first trip to Rendezvous wasn't the best, but we decided to give it another shot and we're happy we did. I tried the chicken parmigiana the first time and was not a fan. On the second trip, I went with Florida comfort food....Mahi Sandwich and the rest of the table got a variety of other menu items. The Mahi was really good! Potato skins, shrimp pasta and the clam chowder also got rave reviews from the rest of the crew. If you go, definitely stick to the seafood/Florida style menu items. This has been my family's go-to restaurant For years. We've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and even mothers and fathers days. Never had a problem. Loved the food and service. I've sent them countless customers, both local and from out of town. It's pricy, but was worth it! I understand everyone is stressed with COVID but the rudeness of the manager was beyond acceptable. I have friends in from out of town and since I tested positive wanted to buy them the first round of drinks. I offered to submit my credit card number with a letter stating I would not try to "charge back" the card (apparently this has been an issue). The manager flat out refused and could not come up with a solution other than to suggest I give them a gift card (so I'm supposed to go to the restaurant covid positive and give them a gift card?). I attempted to reason with him and instead of coming up with a fair solution he ended the call by saying "let's go Brandon" and hanging up the phone. I called back and canceled their reservation and suggest led to my friends that they try any other restaurant in the area. I will not go back or have any friends or family step foot in that restaurant again. I may not be "Brandon" but the manager was right about one thing...I am gone, and never ever going back. read more

Treasure Hunt. Yes, you find that hidden place and it is a Treasure! Coming into Florida for a few days my friend suggested Rendezvous for our usual dinner when I visit. Located in Marina Bay (I remember Marina Bay being a hot spot in the late 70's and nothing since) I was a little hesitant but he had been there a few times and insisted it was a great place, Boy was he right! Oh, yea it is a little hard to find but it is like that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We arrived around 6:30 PM so we did not get what I hear is a really nice view down with canal with the large and small boats docked. We had seats on the patio and quickly met our amazing server Adam. He informed us that Happy Hour was still in effect until 7 and we should take advantage of the Happy Hour prices. I got a double Woodford Reserve for around $6!! Are you kidding?!?! All drinks and beer/wine were priced about the same. That was not the only great suggestion that Adam gave us. On his recommendation we ordered the special Fried Lobster appetizer and was full of lobster meat and breaded perfectly. For my main per Adams recommendation I got the Chilean Sea Bass on Risotto and every bite was so delicious. My friend got the Hog Fish special with two sides and he graciously gave me a few bites of his excellent dish. Portions of food are very nice and we did not have room for desert. SO, bottom line. FIND THIS PLACE, go and enjoy a wonderful meal and great service (ask for Adam). For those of you who are staying in one of the near by hotels before your cruise, this is a must restaurant to check out. read more

We had a reservation for 8 people at 7pm on a Saturday night for outdoors. We waited an hour before being seated. The hostess was extremely nice and sympathetic, and even scored us some free dessert. We finally got seated a little after 8, and got a table where we were so close to the live entertainment we couldn't hear each other across the table. However, the live entertainment was very good. Everything we ordered was pretty tasty. The shrimp tacos and po boy were a bit messy. The view is beautiful, right by the dock. Overall the food was good. What I enjoyed the most was the conversation at the bar top. Bob the bartender was awesome but his patrons were even better. I met some me name Billy and Kenny and their energy was the best. I felt good to sit among ppl with positive energy all around Ok for the food....I went in for the calamari but was convinced by Bob that the lobster pops were the way to go. I prob should've asked the price for a 6oz lobster tail cut up battered and fried prior to ordering because there's a huge price diff. I have NEVER paid $22 for a single 6 oz lobster tail as an appetizer. For a meal with sides yes but never an appetizer. When he sat the lobster on the counter it looked amazing and was hot but I think because I went in for the calamari I really didn't enjoy it. It was just OK but I've had their calamari before and it's better to me (price AND taste). Bob asked if I wanted to get the calamari instead but I told him it was ok and I'd just eat it. I had 2 rasmopolitans $8 per drink and Mahi Mahi tacos (order of 2 $12.95) which really has NO taste just bland. The Mango salsa on the top of the Mahi Mahi was fresh but once again no taste. My total bill came up to $53.77 with the tax. Pricey because of the lobster pops and would've been $10 cheaper if I had gotten the calamari. I'd def go back but will order what I went in for or ask the price prior to ordering what's not on the menu. That was totally my fault not Bobs because he was willing to take that back. The 30 minute wait had us order drinks at the bar. All the mix drinks were served in lowball glasses packed with ice and were $10-$13 each. 2 sips of my mule and I was done. So cocktails here are not worth the price. What saved this place was the food. The food was great. Lobster pops and bacon wrapped scallops were delicious as an appetizer and the king crab leg had plenty of meat for its own meal. We even splurged on the key lime pie at the end and that was delicious also. Adam did a great job serving us also. Flew into FLL the night before our cruise, staying up the street at the TRYP by Wyndham hotel, and got in so late (close to 11 on a Friday) and the hotel staff recommended Rendezvous and were sure it was open. Turned out to be the BEST meal we had, and that's only slightly a knock on Princess Cruise Line, because this food was fantastic. First off, my wife eats gluten free, and while they don't have a GF menu, our waiter (and I wish I could remember his name) was able to make recommendations based on what some of his other regulars who are also GF order, and she loved the Chilean Sea Bass and the risotto(?) side dish and had no problems the next day. Now because we were getting on a cruise the next day, I was prepping my stomach for the 7 day all-you-can-eat fest, so I was just going to go with a salad. Our waiter was able to talk me into the lamb pops (I think I asked what a lamb pop was, he told me, and then I ordered them - it wasn't a tough sell) which were described as small lamb chops. They were regular size lamb chops. 7 or 8 bites each, and there were 4, so that could have been a meal, but I also got the marina bay salad, which is greens, shrimp, shredded TOASTED coconut, croutons and mandarin orange slices, with a mango chutney dressing. Let's be honest, salads aren't usually a turn-on or a stand-out meal. But somebody knows their flavor combinations because this was an awesome salad, and in good proportions, so mostly shrimp and plenty of the coconut, which was delicious. Great service even though we were the last ones in the restaurant for the night. It really got our vacation kicked off on the right foot. I don't know where it falls in terms of pricing in Ft. Lauderdale, but the quality of food we got, I felt the prices were appropriate. Being so late at night, even though we were out on the deck, it was hard to appreciate any of the ambiance of the restaurant, but the food was amazing. And if there's one thing I wish they would change, it's their hours on the websites. We almost didn't make the walk over because it said they were closing, and it was a good thingh the TRYP people assured us they were open later because we would have hated to miss this meal. read more

Happy hour galore! Cheap and great prices for the drinks if you come during happy hour which was honestly the reason we came. Nice view... they are right next to a dock so you can get nice pictures outside. I got the Cajun chicken pasta and my husband got the crab cakes meal. His crab cakes were very yummy and flavorful. My pasta seasoning was meh, portion was large (so this might make up for the seasoning). I just expected it to be more spicy since it was Cajun. My friend recommended me to go this place and I am really glad I followed his recommendation. The view is amazing. While we were waiting for the waiter, huge Iguana came and had dinner with us. It was so much fun. Place was very busy and the food was great. We had appetizer specials, sea bass and king crab per our waitress recommendation. Everything was really delicious. Visited this place for the first time and chose it for several reasons; one of which was we were meeting an out-of-town relative staying at a nearby Marriot hotel. The visitor requested a quiet dining spot due to decreased hearing ability. This place not only met our needs but the food and service was fantastic. Two of us ordered the mahi tacos, one ordered the mahi sandwich and the other ordered fried clams. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer. The waiter brought out plates, first, and then the appetizer about 30 mins later. After we have gotten our appetizer, we realized that we didn't get ANY forks!! How about a fucking fresh batch of crab cakes. So we told her yeah go ahead. She came back, and we said we were ready to order. We ordered whole lobster with stuffed crab meat. She says, "oh we are out of that, sorry. We had our mind set on that, but decided to go with our original plan. I ordered Salmon and she ordered shrimp and steak. The waitress didn't even ask how she wanted her steak!! After a while, the manager came over and said they were out of mashed potatoes. We explained to him that, this was our 6 month anniversary , first time here, and the crab cakes were cold. Cheerful, popular and right on point seafood in the Marina area. I had great oysters on the half shell- big and so fresh. You've got to have their garlic ciabatta, too. Seafood is incredible.
