Not impressed. I was really craving bruschetta and ordered takeout from here since it's a small restaurant with limited seating. Unfortunately, what I got was super heavy, buttered garlic toast with tomatoes and cheese in cups on the side. No balsamic drizzle either, which is kind of a key part of bruschetta in my opinion. The bread was greasy and smelled so strongly of butter and garlic that it honestly made me feel sick. It didn't feel fresh or balanced at all, just really heavy. Maybe it's my fault for ordering bruschetta to go it, but this just didn't resemble the bruschetta I was expecting. This is my favorite pizzeria in a 45 min radius (yes, better than V Pizza!) it's a tad pricey but it's totally worth it for us. We typically get 2 medium pies for about $48 including the tip (med. GF pepperoni/mushroom/pineapple & med. pepperoni/onion/banana peppers). Their lunch specials are great for my WFH days. Their Gluten-Free crust is my FAVORITE that I've been able to find but be aware that it might not be fully "# ppm" Celiac safe (same oven & counter space). Whenever we call to place the order for pickup, they always ask "Gluten allergy or preference?". I am NOT Celiac, but I try to avoid gluten for other health reasons - I always answer it's a preference. Ambiance... ideal for pickup only. Wow, the calzones and Stromboli here used to be huge. They used to be delicious.. yesterday, I ordered 2 calzones and 1stromboli. All 3 were in the same box. First of all this is the best pizza to get in north east Florida. Second of all it's a crime to say anything negative about their traditional cheese or pepperoni. A wave of nostalgia (plus the fact that I'm pretty much always in the mood for pizza) led me to Brooklyn Pizza this week. I used to live practically across the street from here, but sadly I'm on the other side of town now, so coming to Brooklyn isn't as frequent as it used to be. I remember back in its prime, Brooklyn Pizza had three locations around Jacksonville; but unfortunately they are now reduced down to just this spot in Bartram Park. But they must be doing something right, because they've stood the test of time in an area that's seen substantial restaurant growth over the past five years. I'm happy to report that they are still putting out quality pizza. I stopped in at lunch, so I just had them throw a couple slices in the oven for me. I love black olives, but honestly their plain cheese is almost even better. They have an amazing (on the sweeter side) sauce that shines through and compliments the cheese and crust very well. They sell it by the jar, and I was very tempted to get one on my way out. Overall, they may not be my favorite pizza place in Jax anymore (back when they had the location on San Jose, I would practically get one every weekend!); but they're still making great pies with a solid NYC atmosphere. Next time I'm in the Bartram Park area, I'm certainly more prone to stop in here over any of the dozens of chains that have popped up around it. read more
