I played a season of women's league soccer here. My team was full of rookies, myself included, so we didn't set the bar too high for our success. Registration for the team was done online and wasn't too complicated. Before our first game we had to obtain players cards - the process was easy and only took a few moments. It was also easy to get another later in the season when I lost my original one (whoops!). You are required to give the card to the employee out of the field before the start of the game so they know that every player on the turf is registered. We played the full season and our games ranged from around 6PM to as late as 10PM. 10PM is brutal especially during winter. It was freezing outside and freezing inside. No matter their efforts the field area is still quite cold. My team and I warmed up in the bar area but a dedicated warm up space would be really nice as the bar area was quite crowded most times and made finding a place to stretch hard. We didn't have any of our games rescheduled so I appreciated that as I was worried we may face that concern. Luckily our schedule remained the same throughout the season. I will say as a new player the inconsistent refs were a challenge. One game a penalty would be called, the next nothing. One game they would add players based on the time elapsed and the score, they next they would tell us that only happens in the children's leagues. Not very helpful for those of us brand new to the game and trying to learn the rules and flow. I will say what I appreciate the most about this place is how understanding they were. I was asked to play on a team the following season and after one game realized it wasn't a smart move for my foot. I called and explained my situation and the employee was nice enough to refund my money for the season and let me off the hook of playing. That was very kind. I got a check in the mail about a week after I called and I was grateful for how easy they made it. I appreciate the customer service and it kind of out weighs the awkward parking, cold field and inconsistent refs. read more

I was going to Swift Physical Therapy for some back and hip issues. I attended for one month and they gave me a regimen of exercises that I could continue with at home. At the end of the month I felt much improvement. The facilities are fantastic! In the Physical Therapy part the equipment is top notch and the staff keeps all the tables and machines sterilized after each use. The other parts of the Sportsdome looked very intriguing for use as a year-round practice facility. There was soccer practice field, a 3/4 size football field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, golf practice area, baseball facilities, plus other areas that we were unable to see. There were tables outside of the practice areas so the parents could sit and watch the children practice through large glass floor to ceiling windows. They even have a snack bar with alcohol sales for the parents to pass the time while waiting for their kids to finish. Reno really needed this kind of facility to give the youth somewhere to practice yearly. It's nice to have the rehab facility right there if a child gets injured. read more

Reno Sportsdome is a great option to get some physical activity in, regardless of the weather. They have a soccer sprouts program to introduce young kids to soccer and get them familiar and ready to join a team. There is also league play and every time I've been there is always a match going on. Another great perk here is the bar and "lounge" area where you can sit and enjoy a game or watch current soccer matches on the big screen. They have a good selection of beers on tap and even serve hot food and snacks. They have complimentary wifi which is a huge bonus since I've actually gotten work down while waiting for my son. I recommend Reno Sportsdome for all ages and suggest checking it out if you are at all interested in year round sports. read more

We go here for my daughters games. This indoor facility has a nice field with a smaller practice field off to the side. Lots of viewing space behind well cleaned thick glass. So thick I am not sure the teams hear the cheers of the parents, And I can't omit that IN that viewing space they serve BEER! Reasonable priced at $3 and $4 dollars. Games seem to run well and on time. Place is always clean. The parking is a fender bender waiting to happen with the tight cramped spaces and large SUVs. read more

First time here to watch my granddaughter in her Soccer Sprouts class. It was crowded, there were games going on with the older kids as we made our way toward the other end where my granddaughter's class was held. It looked like a fun place for kids on a cold January Saturday. A little more than midway through, there's a large area with tables and a concession stand. I remembered there was a sign at the front which read something to the effect of "no outside food allowed." Right past this area, there's a room where my granddaughter was with her class. Just outside the room there are 3 large windows where family and friends can look in on the class. My granddaughter was definitely enjoying herself; she and her classmates (teammates) were so cute! Right behind the spectators (if you turned around) was a larger indoor field where older kids were having a game of soccer. So you could turn around and watch that if you wanted. I liked the experience, especially being indoors and away from the elements (it was quite cold). Admittedly, it's a bit crowded, but it's much better than being outside in any type of weather. Scheduling nightmare...doesn't allow outside food to certain individuals but never has more than a couple pieces of pizza available. Owner made false police report about me over bringing in pizza after it was already resolved 2 hours earlier by the manager on duty. Contacted the other owner and he informed me that he had statements from his employees and I said I have 5 statements and counting about what transpired,(Gave him the opportunity to fix his problems because I know everyone has bad days but he declined).We Will not be playing here anymore which is unfortunate because my 5 kids play soccer year around. We will just be playing futsal in the winter. read more

The Sportsdome is by far the best place in town to play indoor soccer. The staff and management are fantastic. The set up is perfect for playing soccer, or for just hanging out with friends to watch games. I have been playing indoor soccer in Reno for many years, I have seen many indoor facilities come and go. The Dome is by far the best facility that we have ever had in Reno. For parents, the Sportsdome has great youth leagues, and it has by far the most comfortable set up sit and support your children. In addition to providing a great place to play soccer, they also do a great job of hosting watch parties for big games, I have watched many World Cup and Champions League games at the Dome. read more

Rescheduling games is a nightmare, the place is always cold, overcrowded with limited seating and they will ask little kids to not run around and kick a ball in the open space, yet teams of older kids will have full blown agility driups in the open space? They say it's a liability and someone could be knocked over!! By a two year old??? Yet, the 10 year old can run around like crazy and nothing is said. This place is whack! read more

Hands down, the worst management and customer service I have ever experienced. It's clear that the company and employees don't care about their customers at all, it's simply about the money. I have played here for a few years, and if there were anywhere else to play in Reno, I would be gone so fast. The refs have no regard for the players safety, because sportsdome is not liable for any injuries. Management has no interest in complaints about the refs, they just tell you to send an email and you never get a reply. The owner, Owen (?), is the only one who MIGHT give a hoot about things, but he's never there, and if he is they won't let you talk to him. The manager is completely useless. Any time you try to talk to him, he says "I'm not the one who handles that, you need to talk to so-and-so", and of course, that person is never there. They claim to take schedule requests, but usually ignore any request you make. Monday night used to be for the women's league, but now they made it a hybrid with the men's league, and the women's teams get stuck playing at 10:30 (on a Monday night). The entire business is nothing but a money machine, and they don't care who knows it. If another facility were to open in Reno, I know my team (and many others) would ditch this place in a heartbeat. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. Reno has been needing something like this for so long. When it first opened I was playing on a women's team and a coed team. Since then I've added another coed team and my son also plays Soccer Sprouts on Saturdays on the small field. He loves it. This may sound like a lot of soccer but it's perfect for my family as we get exercise and get to spend time together. My son loves to watch mom play through the big windows that line the main field. Often I see him standing right by the window waving while I run by. My husband loves all the TVs playing sports. You couldn't ask for a better staff and I've gotten to know most of the refs by name. Oh and did I mention there is a bar with a great selection of beer and food too. We've even deemed this our place to watch World Cup games with big screen TVs and great friends. I've been to both baby showers and birthday parties here. I'm so glad this place exists. read more

When I moved to Reno I was looking forward to finding pick-up games or soccer leagues in the area. I found about this place during the World Cup and was pretty impressed with the facilities. There are two turf fields, a small and a big one. There's also a bar area with picnic tables, TV's and a big screen for watching games. Place is well kept. All I can say is that I'm happy to play pick-up games here and that Reno has a facility of this quality. read more

I just finished playing a season of soccer here, and these are my thoughts concerning our last schedule game. Below is what I posted on a Facebook page my team had created: We've had 3 late games, (one being at 10:15pm on a Sunday night); A game scheduled during the Super Bowl, (which changed but should have never been scheduled in the first place); A game scheduled at 6:30pm on Valentine's Day, and now a game at 11:15pm... Idk... This league sucks. I hate to be Mr. Grumps here, but good lord... I love soccer but Reno Sportsdome can suck it. This last game would have had us at 4 games originally scheduled for after 9:30pm at night, and that's out of only 7 games!!! More than half our games scheduled for after 9:30pm!!! I'm usually climbing into bed at 9:30pm! I'm a working man, not a college pup! Sorry to rant... I just wish Reno would figure out its indoor soccer.... Oh I forgot to mention purchasing $20 player cards before our last, (11:15pm) game.... A new charge not required at the beginning of the season... Wtf? Just brainstorming here, but how about waiting till next season to collect that Reno Sportsdumb? Like I said in the post, I love soccer, but Reno Sportsdome falls way short in delivering a Schedule that's manageable. Our team had to forfeit 2 of our 7 games... The Valentines Day game we forfeited and the 11:15pm game we forfeited as well... $650 for 5 games. That's $130/game. Even if we played all 7 games, the cost per game, (for both teams) would have been $186. That's $186 for 40 minutes of play time! That's insane! The only thing this place has going for it is the beer... Even that though, kids are running around with no parental supervision... It's borderline a bar and feels weird to have kids playing tag under your table as you're sipping on an IPA. read more

Reno Sportsdome is a great place to watch and play soccer! I manage two teams and play on another at the dome, and my husband also manages and plays on three teams there as well We have played there pretty much since they opened. Sometimes the late games can indeed be a real pain, but then again the Sportsdome has always done their best to accommodate our teams whenever we have concerns or scheduling requests. I do get the impression that the employees want teams to have a fair, positive experience and they have been very open to questions and concerns that have come up. The facility is always clean, and it's nice to have the beer option after games, especially since it gives players and friends a space to spend time after games instead of going elsewhere. It's also helpful that they provide snacks and alternative choices for kids or anyone who isn't interested in beer. Although small issues might pop up from time to time, as with any business that involves the interaction of so many people, the Sportsdome has always been very responsive to my questions and concerns and that's why I keep bringing teams back. read more

Playing surface is tops and they keep the place very clean, even the bathrooms are tidy. Funny but true. This place is my weekly escape from the real world. Futbol is freedom. It's unfortunate that you can have such a nice facility, but everyone still despises playing there. This is the only place to play in town, so they will remain successful until somewhere else opens up. Pricing keep increasing for no good reason, but schedules get worse because they accept too many teams into each league. Management bullies teams/people that they don't like and gives special treatment to their favorites and their employees. They do whatever they want schedule wise (like schedule you a Saturday day game in a Sunday night league) because there are no repercussions. If you leave, another team is eager to take your place. We had our twin boys' 6th birthday party at Reno Sportsdome and it was amazing. The party had ample space and enough sitting for our large party. They even accommodated us by providing extra seating. The pizzas they serve for the parties are delicious and the kids and adults loved them. The kids loved to run around the field and played a soccer as well jumped in the bounce house that we rented. Overall, it was a great birthday party and I highly recommend scheduling your next birthday party with the Reno Sportsdome! read more

I am mixed about this place. It's in a not so great area, and is poorly marked. Once you get inside, it's great! I found the temperature pleasant. Facility is clean. Staff was polite. I had my daughter's birthday here. No clear direction or explanation from anyone. I had to seek out staff to find out what the deal was. The gentleman that was in charge of the kids was not very assertive or engaging. I didn't really know what to expect when I book the party, but I was a little disappointed. Not in the facility but in the lack of organization on the party side. They could definitely improve their system and interaction. read more

I spend more time here than I do at home so my opinion may be a bit biased. I have played soccer here since the beginning (2012?) but I have not had the opportunity to play any of the other sports although I know quite a few of the coaches and their knowledge of the sport is only out-weighed by their desire to see their kids grow, learn, and play well. The bar is similar to a sports bar since there is a variety of snacks from chips to power bars, meals from pizza to hot dogs, and a variety refreshments from soda to beer. The television always has some kind of sport on whether it is the current game from the US or an international friendly. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. In the 3 years I have played here I have not had any issues. The events that are held for special games such as the world cup are well managed and usually have special catering provided for the hungry fan. read more

First of all the pros - this is a really nice facility, the field is in excellent shape and it makes for great games and competition. On the flip side, management sucks and it just seems like they are in the business to make money and milk every player to max capacity. The typical example is the players card that you need to renew every year. $20 for a piece of plastic which most likely costs them only a few cents to make. No insurance or anything attached to it. If you lose or forget your card, you will need to get a new or temp one, for $10 or $5 respectively. This is seriously ridiculous and so blinding that their are just being money hungry individuals (to keep it respectful). I can't wait for another facility to open its door in the area and put a halt to this monopoly situation they are taking advantage of so carelessly. read more

This will be the third season we have had a child play flag football at Reno sports dome and each time we look forward to practices and games. The staff is always friendly and facility always maintained well. Our volunteer coaches have always been excellent. What we really appreciate is even at the 5 year old level scores are kept. read more

Terribly run organization. I played one season in this league and that's the final season I'll play. None of the refs knew the rules. One week we were told one rule, while the next it completely changed. You pay $650 for six games and if a few teams forfeit, you are out of luck. S9me teams only played 4 games total. After one of our games, we stayed to watch the next game. A player went down hard on the turf banging his head after being inadvertently elbowed. The refs had no idea where ice bags were or any medical treatment. The two guys who were supposed to be working were clueless as well. My buddy and I ended up screaming at them to get them off their stools. I brought this to the attention of the so called manager and he really seemed to not care. I asked him who was in charge of the football league, and he told me that person wasn't there on the weekends... Really?? Shouldnt the person who runs the league be there when the games are being played? Terrible league. Terrible management. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We also tried the youth soccer previously before this, and the first coach was awesome, and i will say this. She was the lady who ran the soccer sprouts. The next week we got a new teacher who had no idea how to handle toddlers. Long story short, we pulled our daughter out. Guess i should have learned first time. read more

It seems apparent, by reading the other reviews, that the only way to be happy with this facility is if you can't spend an evening during a sporting event/practice without drinking beer. My son wanted to learn how to play (soccer and) football. Unfortunately, the coach spent most of his efforts trying to keep his own son in line yet allowing him to run in every play. One night, 12 minutes into practice, we watched this coach walk off the field with his unruly son, leaving the rest of the team (young children) to fend for themselves, and did not return. This building is not in the safest part of the city, and obviously its bar is open to any public. As well, one child vomited all over the entryway, yet even when alerted of the situation, the facilities manager ignored the problem, vending the clean up to someone obviously beneath her. Perhaps 15 minutes and a few fallen patrons later, the disgusting mess was finally cleared away. I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere for youth sporting opportunities; the only thing that matters there is beer & cash flow. read more
