Renova installed a solar system at my home in 2022. They did a good job with that. BUT: I had a panel failure recently and discovered that to simply have someone drive over and do basic troubleshooting would cost FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS - and that does not include any repairs. I needed my Solar panels cleaned with our standing on my tile roof. Several of the previous companies I tried cracked tiles while walking on my roof to clean the panels. The repair roof tile bills usually ran $750 or more. I called Renova and asked if they had solar panel cleaners who cold clean the panels without going on my roof. They said "Yes" and explained that the would also check out the functioning of the system and make any necessary adjustments to it. The cost was only $180.00! So I hired them. Two Renova Technicians arrived today and using a pressure hose from their truck cleaned the panels without going on my roof. They were quick, very professional and did an excellent job. Renova has been going through a lot with the debacle of Sun power. We have 2 systems and one has been out since July. We really had nothing we could do to get our system fixed. We emailed Vincent the ceo of Renova and we have been working with him to get our system up and running . We asked if we could just pay outright since our warranty wasn't being able to be used because Sun Power was out of business. He said sure . Seriously...Renova installed a brand new inverter less than 2 months ago and on 9/1, it looked like the inverter went down because I am no longer seeing updates on the app that showing energy production so I don't know if my solar panels are producing any energy anymore. Now Renova wants to charge me a $450 service call fee to troubleshoot a brand new inverter they installed. Such greedy company and don't stand by their installation! read more

I truly despise it when people go online and say negative things about a company. When the company does step up to the plate, I really feel people should come back around and update the reviews. Hence, I am updating my review as Renova did step up to the plate and installed a new monitoring device. This new device should've been covered by warranty with Sunpower but we know what's going on with them. I had an issue with reconfiguring my wireless network and updating the information to my Renova solar system. After getting off to a rough start with the first person I spoke with, Raul Giles - of his own initiative - reached out to me to get the issue resolved. Raul was also instrumental during the installation process last spring, even making sure that it was completed ahead of schedule. Today, Raul stepped up and walked me through the process and was very creative in the process. Who would have thought that a razor blade (very low-tech) would come in handy and help to resolve the issue? I've had Renova for several years. I recently added 12 more panels and a battery added. This was probably one of the best installation projects I have seen. The lead tech was fantastic. His goal was that I was happy. The lead roofing mgr was fast and efficient. And the support team let me know what was happening throughout the process, including City inspection and approval. Lastly, the Construction Mgr came on site day 1 and the very last day to train me on the Franklin battery app. The system is working great. Renova installed my panels about 10 years ago and did a great job. About a week ago I noticed water dripping out of my interior garage circuit breaker panel they installed for the system. It had been raining so I turned off all the breakers in this panel and called Renova. Rather than the real human that used to answer their phone I got an AI "person" called Renovalina. I went through all her questions and left a request for service asap. I have never heard back from them. I went ahead and had an outside contractor come out and fix the leak on the roof that was suppose to seal the wiring from the panels into the garage. It was a simple fix but I learned a lesson that the Renova Energy of today is NOT the company I used years ago that was so highly rated. read more

I've used them for years. They installed my panels and have maintained them. However, when having the panels cleaned on 6/12/2025 they damaged a solar panel and broke some roof tiles. I was contacted and told repairs would be made on 6/23. Well, nobody showed up. I called again. Automated attendant said I was number 100 in the queue. I hung up. Tried again later, and this time, I was able to press "1" to get a call back. That call back happened a day and half later. They said repairs were scheduled for 6/26. On 6/26 they came, replaced the damaged solar panel and said they had to order the tiles they would contact me when they arrived. This morning (July 7) I called again, pressed "1" for a call back. Worst decision of my life was to go with Renova Energy for Solar. Learn from my costly mistake! Don't choose Renova! Prior to deciding to install solar, I conducted months of research before choosing Renova for solar panels. We chose Renova in 2018. The first 5 years were great! Over the past 2-3 years, our panels have not been producing. Our end-of-the-year settlement in 2023 was $2,000. In 2024, the end-of-year settlement jumped to $3700. It took almost 4 months to get Renova and Sun Strong on the same page to schedule a visit. We continue to have problems with our solar. Right now we are already behind by almost $1300. Our solar was out the entire month of June (2025). Renova's response is, "We don't own the lease, so you'll have to call Sun Strong. If we come out without Sun Strong's approval, you will have to pay out of pocket for the work we do on any panels." When we call Sun Strong, they tell us we need to call Renova. Poor customer service! Value and quality of the product is zero, IF the panels are producing. read more

You cannot choose a better solar company than Renova! I would avoid that membership warehouse's preferred vendor (terrible service reviews). Go local with Renova. Renova is a company that deeply believes in taking care of their employees so that they can focus on the needs of us customers. Our salesman, James Kortmeyer, was awesome, detail-driven and always had a smile. The office staff, Khanitta K. & Nancy V. were responsive to our inquires and messages and always professional. We cannot say enough positive things to about our field crew, Alvaro R., Angel L. & Falcino. These guys are on your side! On the week of your install, be sure to get the names and cell numbers for the crew supervisor or construction manager. If the crew does not show up within 30 minutes of their allotted time, call or text the construction manager or call/email the Project Mangement Assistant back at Renova's office. When setting up your system, the crew will need your wifi info. I simply printed it and taped it to the garage wall on the first day of installation. I would advice customers not to have their garage's interior solar boxes painted. They look just fine unpainted. The wall conduit might need it though. (See images.) Since our existing outdoor electrical panel was maxed out, we paid Renova to upgrade to a larger one so that we could accommodate future expansion. Our panel now includes an Level 2 EV charger. Renova ran the EV charger box for us from the outdoor panel directly into the garage. It really helps to plan ahead for the increase in your use of electricity since your bills should start decreasing. We included a dedicated 220-volt outlet for the conversion of an existing gas range to an induction model. You will need to hire an electrician to run the wiring to your kitchen. If you read many of the other reviews, you will see that Renova stands behind their solar products. They will respond to your inquires even years after the original install. Long story short. Yikes! We contacted them based on recommendations from friends who used them we needed them to service a system installed by another company. They drew out the process to just get an appointment for a week and have wording in their "service contract" that is inappropriate. They are all about getting things signed even though the wording indicates a long term commitment. After reluctantly signing I got a call from "Freddy" telling me that if I didn't sign the documents they were not going to come out. When I said I signed them all against my better judgement. He says apparently his system wasn't updated. I told him we were done and to not sent anyone to my house as I was tired of their BS* and strong arm tactics. Just to have them come out is $450. This company continues to disappoint. The system they sold us, Sun Power, has now gone out of business, and the warranties are either non-existent or questionable. Renovo sold us based on their assurances of a great all-in-one warranty and a very stable company. This was not true at all. Beyond that, Renova did not keep its customers updated on the situation. When I tried to call Renova for clarification, they never answered the phone or returned a message. I finally went ot their offices and their service rep was confused about what was covered and by whom. All they mainly said was that Renova is not responsible for any of the mess and will not support the systems that they sold and installed. I would never do business with them again! read more

Beware of using Renova Energy for a solar system. They installed our system a couple of years ago and we have never achieved the output they promised us. When we questioned why, they did an analysis and said that some of our panels were installed behind trees and the shade was affecting our output. The trees were there when they designed the layout and installed the system! Since then they have refused to correct the issue by moving panels or any other solution. They also went out of business for like a year and came back and aren't standing behind any of their products, so we will have to find electricians to do any warranty work that may come up. Very bad business. I would never use them again. read more
