First time here. Came for the old fashioned and it didn't disappoint. Parking was easy and found our way to the bar. We went in street side but realized we could have walked in from the back door. We sat at the bar. Provided a view of all the activities- people watching, drinks being made and sports on the TV. The menu was creative and lengthy. But as I said, we went for the old fashioned. We opted for the standard ones, not the flavored. We did have them smoked which adds a nice aroma to the drink. Really enjoyed the simpleness of it... Perfectly mixed. We will definitely go back. Just in case for those that don't know, they do not serve food. I think I read on another review that you can have food brought in, but I'm not 100% sure about that. A great spot to stop for a drink or two. Probably the best old fashioned I've had around, right up there with Ciros in Tampa (although Ciros has more ambience and food). read more

I came here for the first time with a mom's club and was so excited to find a bar in our little town with a cocktail list. The vibe is a good combination between a dive and a classy bar. That sounds odd but it totally makes sense. It's also a lot larger than I expected being one of the shops in WPV. They have a pool table and dart board, which makes for a good time when you're there with friends. We like this bar so much that I went three times in one week. Hey, we don't pass up the luxury of having free babysitters for the week. Lol. It was the week of Christmas, so we had family in town to allow us for a quick date night. I introduced it to my husband after dinner one night. Trying to gauge if it would be a great place to bring his sister for our traditional dive bar Christmas Eve birthday celebration. On the way to the bar I decided to Facebook message the them and they responded within 10 mins explaining their hours for Christmas Eve. I was pleasantly surprised to get a response from the bar during their busy hours. This shows they care about their clients. My husband loved the bar and we brought our family to the bar around 11 on Christmas Eve. Enjoyed playing pool, having the bar sing happy birthday to my SIL, and the drinks! Love this place! It is one of our favorite spots in Westchase. The drinks are always made to perfection and the bar staff is very attentive--even when it's busy. It sits right next door to the little neighborhood YMCA along Linebaugh Avenue. They are a hand craft cocktail lounge/Bar, with a 20s/30s prohibition-era theme. Awesome place with staff who really know their spirits. Other great thing is you can get outside food as they don't serve food. read more

I also wish this place was closer to my house! I am a big fan of old fashioneds and there's was incredible. My one friend ordered the old fashioned with pumpkin and it was delicious. It would make a perfect holiday cocktail and so was the Smoking Gun. I liked the vibe of the place. We played some games and enjoyed the music, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra etc. We left around 1030 on a Saturday night and it wasn't too crowded so I hope this place survives so go drink there now! read more

My girlfriend and I were visiting Tampa from Seattle and wanted to give Repeal 18 a try because of their great reviews online. Unfortunately we didn't get to try a thing after two of the bartenders apparently thought we possessed fake IDs. I'm 25 and my girlfriend is 23. We were carded three times before one bartender said her other bartender "didn't feel comfortable" with my ID because of the way the "0s" looked? I understand that we are younger and our licenses look foreign to them because we're from a different state. But to embarrass patrons like that because you can't tell what a legal ID looks like is ridiculous. The bartender proceeded to apologize a bunch of times and I was completely understanding because they aren't familiar with Washington IDs. Yet, after we thought we cleared it up with the second bartender they never acknowledged us or even tried to serve us, whether it was because of the IDs or because they have terrible service we'll never know. I'm sure Repeal has fantastic drinks and is a fun place, the people around us looked like they were enjoying themselves, but this incident was one of the most embarrassed I've felt at a public establishment. Who doesn't love that speakeasy, romantic atmosphere! A real diamond in the rough, with signature cocktails in the middle of Westchase! Its a small hole in the wall with tons of character and class. I would recommend the THE BARB, but theres so many choices you can't go wrong with any of them. This place is the BEST!! I absolutely love everything about this establishment! I have been here many times and never been disappointed. The old fashioned is the best I have ever had, I judge all old fashioned's by theirs. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. I have tried every drink on the menu and even when I have no idea what the ingredients are in the drink, never had one that I didn't like. The atmosphere is super chill, it's the kind of place you can chat with your friends and feel very comfortable. You can play darts and board games and pool. Great drinks but....a bit weak in several areas that detract from the overall experience. No food! Free pool but horrible - I don't think they have re-feltted the table since it was put in. Hint, felt and rails wear out; the rails are dead, the balls need to be replaced, and get some cue sticks! And, asking a customer for a drivers license to get the cue ball to play? Bush league. Especially when you are already holding their credit card on a tab. It would ne nice if there was chalk at the dart board to keep score and they had something better than cheap 10 cent darts. If you are going to charge for premiun drinks, spend a few bucks on unkeep. read more

Pretty nice little spot in westchase. Bar is clean and dark and pretty. Bartenders were nice and knowledgeable. My drink was okay---a french 75. My bf loved his old fashioned. I really like bars that have board games, and they had a nice little collection. I will definitely comeback to try some other concoctions read more
