Terrible experience. Waitresses are very unprofessional and rude. Came to visit Tampa from Washington with my boyfriend and was carded by two bartenders on three separate occasions because they "felt uncomfortable" with our IDs. I'm 23 and my boyfriend is 25. The second bartender who carded us never explained whether or not they were refusing us service due to them "feeling uncomfortable". We sat at a table for 15 minutes after the incident but were never served or told whether or not we would be so we left. Learn your state IDs and learn how to handle a situation professionally. Waited way too long to try this place. My husband and I both love cocktails and decided to stop here on the way home very late on a Friday(or early on a Saturday depending on how you look at it). So glad we did. The ambiance and decor are really nice, it has an old school speakeasy kind of vibe. Our bartender Avery was very friendly and quick to offer suggestions(all of which were spot on). We sat at a huge table playing Trivial Pursuit with friends and enjoying delicious cocktails for hours. They had a selection of simple syrups, and I had a few Moscow Mules made with mint simple syrup and a peach iced tea cocktail(name escapes me right now). Everything was perfectly made. My husband had a root beer old fashioned and the Aviation which he confirms were delicious as well. I loved the setup with the giant table and comfortable chairs to the right of the bar and free(!) pool and darts off to the left. They also have a nice setup outside if you'd rather enjoy the weather. The setup is so nice and comfortable that it really feels like you're chilling at home having drinks and playing games with friends, except with a super nice bartender bringing you drinks. I came here for the first time with a mom's club and was so excited to find a bar in our little town with a cocktail list. The vibe is a good combination between a dive and a classy bar. That sounds odd but it totally makes sense. It's also a lot larger than I expected being one of the shops in WPV. They have a pool table and dart board, which makes for a good time when you're there with friends. We like this bar so much that I went three times in one week. Hey, we don't pass up the luxury of having free babysitters for the week. Lol. It was the week of Christmas, so we had family in town to allow us for a quick date night. I introduced it to my husband after dinner one night. Trying to gauge if it would be a great place to bring his sister for our traditional dive bar Christmas Eve birthday celebration. On the way to the bar I decided to Facebook message the them and they responded within 10 mins explaining their hours for Christmas Eve. I was pleasantly surprised to get a response from the bar during their busy hours. This shows they care about their clients. My husband loved the bar and we brought our family to the bar around 11 on Christmas Eve. Enjoyed playing pool, having the bar sing happy birthday to my SIL, and the drinks! My girlfriend and I were visiting Tampa from Seattle and wanted to give Repeal 18 a try because of their great reviews online. Unfortunately we didn't get to try a thing after two of the bartenders apparently thought we possessed fake IDs. I'm 25 and my girlfriend is 23. We were carded three times before one bartender said her other bartender "didn't feel comfortable" with my ID because of the way the "0s" looked? I understand that we are younger and our licenses look foreign to them because we're from a different state. But to embarrass patrons like that because you can't tell what a legal ID looks like is ridiculous. The bartender proceeded to apologize a bunch of times and I was completely understanding because they aren't familiar with Washington IDs. Yet, after we thought we cleared it up with the second bartender they never acknowledged us or even tried to serve us, whether it was because of the IDs or because they have terrible service we'll never know. I'm sure Repeal has fantastic drinks and is a fun place, the people around us looked like they were enjoying themselves, but this incident was one of the most embarrassed I've felt at a public establishment. Who doesn't love that speakeasy, romantic atmosphere! A real diamond in the rough, with signature cocktails in the middle of Westchase! Its a small hole in the wall with tons of character and class. I would recommend the THE BARB, but theres so many choices you can't go wrong with any of them. They have a GANGSTER OLD FASHIONED -Michter's 20 yr Bourbon thats $92 and will get you a personalized mug shot to be hung on our wall. I will be stopping by again! read more

Great drinks but....a bit weak in several areas that detract from the overall experience. No food! Free pool but horrible - I don't think they have re-feltted the table since it was put in. Hint, felt and rails wear out; the rails are dead, the balls need to be replaced, and get some cue sticks! And, asking a customer for a drivers license to get the cue ball to play? Bush league. Especially when you are already holding their credit card on a tab. It would ne nice if there was chalk at the dart board to keep score and they had something better than cheap 10 cent darts. This place is the BEST!! I absolutely love everything about this establishment! I have been here many times and never been disappointed. The old fashioned is the best I have ever had, I judge all old fashioned's by theirs. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable.
