Ordered from americano, to lavender latte, pistachio latte, and customizable with different milks. Pasadena location is much bigger than Burbank (my first time at this location) and line got pretty long after we put in our order. Great ambiance, tasty treats, and family friendly location. Outdoor seating is also convenient and nice. Coffee tastes great too. Overall great cafe.

Had a really good experience here. We tried a mix of items: the kale salad, pesto chicken sandwich and mediterranean avocado toast. Honestly, everything was delicious and came out super fast. The only headache is trying to find parking in the area. If you can handle the parking gamble, the food and quick service absolutely deliver.

Cute but very busy place! Came here after I found out the original coffee shop I wanted to try near the area is closed on Sundays. Republik is pretty big inside, with lots of outdoor space and seating as well. It was very busy when we arrived, and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly and I got my order in a decent amount of time. I saw they had an Ube latte, so of course that is what I ordered, and it did not disappoint. Very flavorful and delicious. Service was good, and the baristas were all busy but took the time to greet everyone and thank them as we all picked up our orders. There is lots of free street parking in this area of Pasadena, so that was a breeze.

Same great place since I last visited in 2019. A quick stop for a cold brew and a lemon loaf slice (friend purchased). Cold brew was strong as expected but didn't taste much of the foam as salted anything. The lemon loaf was grainy -not sure what the ingredients were to make it grainy, but I did appreciate the lemon flavor and icing.

I am a student at Paul Mitchell and wanted to try due to the fact that this place might be one that I would frequent. Although this is my first time can't say I was impressed. The ambiance, seating, and music is inviting. However, my matcha lacked flavor tremendously. Additionally, the staff wasn't rude but they also weren't as welcoming upon my arrival. I will give it a chance just to try something else. Hopefully I can find something I like or will have another experience that will change my mind. :(

Such a cute cafe, that can get busy! Sometimes there aren't tables available, but luckily the last time I went my husband and I were able to get a table to drink our coffees and croissants. I ordered a hot oat latte and it was really good. I've tried the Vietnamese cold brew, but unfortunately it was a little sweet for me. My husband got an Americano and it was great. We both got a ham and cheese croissant and it was soo yummy! Really liked the cheese they use. I will keep coming back when I'm in the area, I want to try more of their pastries!

I've had a lot of things here so I'm going to rate and rank each item: 1. Cardamom oat latte (best cardamom latte I've ever had and is so delicious that I get this far too many times) 2. Iced london fog (so different and nice every once in a while if you like a london fog) 3. Rose matcha (matcha is a decent quality and their rose is so nice and subtle that I get it a decent amount) 4. Purple caramel latte (yum, but sweet) 5. Black vanilla latte (yum, but also sweet) This place is such a great place to also work if you can get a seat. On the weekends they will bring in live performers too, which is so nice!

(+) Lavender and Oat Latte Republik is a breakfast and lunch restaurant that freshly makes their pastries and serves a variety of sandwiches, coffee tea and breakfast goodies. There are a few locations in the SGV, and this location is located off Green Street, which is a one-way street. They do have a designated parking lot where they validate for an hour of parking. There is parking available on the street too. Drinks: I ordered the lavender and oat latte with a croissant. What stood out to me about the latte was the balance of floral and coffee flavors. None were overbearing. The croissant was delicious as well. Nothing special about it though. I will come back to try some of their hot foods. Service/Ambiance: There is a counter you order from and plenty of seating inside and outside. The shop is welcoming and comfortable. Plenty of large and small tables. Overall, I want to come back and try more of what they have to offer.

4.5* Coffee 4* Service 4.8* Ambiance Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, with a relaxed Mediterranean vibe that feels bright, comfortable and inviting. It's an ideal spot to meet with friends, work remotely, or just enjoy some time people watching. When many other coffee shops close early, Republik stays open until 6:00 pm, which is about two hours later than most nearby cafes. They offer an variety selection of coffee, pastries, parfaits, and sandwiches, along with a few hot dishes on the weekends. The quality here is good with friendly service, a welcoming atmosphere, and longer hours. Republik has live music on the weekends which makes this also a fun and relaxing place to gear up for the week.

    Vietnamese Cold Brew
    Jocelyn T.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and got the Vietnamese cold brew! The line was kind of long but loved by fast and I got my drink quick. I really wanted to love it because it said there was coconut juice and cold foam on top but it I kind of got bored of the flavor after some time. It's definitely not Vietnamese coffee lol but it's a nice creamy and surprisingly refreshing drink! I couldn't finish it which is rare for me but it started to just taste like a regular vanilla cold brew. It's also pretty sweet but you can ask to dilute with the regular cold brew which I did and it helped! The cafe was cute, there's an outdoor patio and indoor seating with some cute greenery. Saw a variety of people grabbing brunch and doing work!

This has been my favorite coffee spot ever since I last tried it of course I came back the same coffee wish it was a bigger cup though, and I ordered the breakfast burrito, but forgot to take a picture of it. The croissant was perfectly flaky on the outside and nice and soft in the inside and warm. It was very delicious.

This bar is tucked inside Vroman's Bookstore (already one of the most charming and iconic bookstores in the area) so the entire experience feels like stepping into a warm, literary universe. You can browse for a new book, take in the bookstore's atmosphere, and then walk straight into the bar. Honestly, it's the perfect outing. What makes 1894 truly special is how intentionally it celebrates literature. Everything in the bar pays homage to the bookstore. The drink menu is full of clever, book-inspired names. You'll find cocktails like Pride and PearJudice Pride, Fifty Shades of Earl Grey, and other fun literary twists. Every drink feels like a little wink to readers, writers, and book lovers, and it adds such a unique charm to the experience. The vibe is super quaint and warm, dim lighting, and a creative atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The wine is on the pricier side ($19-$21 per glass), but the quality delivers. Customer service was excellent. One of the bartenders spent time chatting with us. He pointed out a chalk artwork behind the bar a dramatic portrait he drew himself featuring expressive, literary-style faces, like Edgar Allan Poe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, etc. It fits perfectly with the creative, bookish aesthetic of the bar. If you're into books, wine, and unique experiences, 1894 is a spot you absolutely can't miss. Perfect for a date, a solo unwind-with-a-book moment, or a fun night with friends who appreciate a good story and a great drink.

Our waiter was incredibly passive and at times it felt like we were being completely ignored. He would attend to tables around us but never checked in with us, had what seemed like a limited knowledge of the menu, and offered a half assed apology at the end of the night. The table next to us was clearly someone of importance, because they kept getting "gifted" foods, cheeses, drinks, etc. - which is fine, but only magnified our poor service. We also saw our food and beverages as well as other tables food and beverages be delivered to the wrong tables. My fiances sorbet was given to the special table next to us, but they had already had their dessert, and so the wait staff left with it and a minute later delivered it to our table melted. There was one staff member that was wonderful, and it seemed like he was a busboy who was filling in for our waiter (sorry I did not get his name) but he was very kind, personable, and would be the reason we come back, aside from the great food. There was also no acknowledgement of the special occasion we were celebrating, which is a minor thing but at other restaurants it's usually never missed and helps make for a nice experience especially when we mark that we are here celebrating an anniversary. All in all it was a disappointing experience. We may return for the food in the future, because it was excellent, but the service needs to be worked on.
