Ugh..... the dreadful service. My second time coming here, first time the employees were so deep in conversation about Miley Cyrus they didn't bother to greet me. Second time, both employees stared into blank space until I finally asked if they were ready to take my order. The croissants are very good. The spinach and feta filling is very strange and not for me. I have only gotten their Vietnamese coffee, which I enjoyed. I would consider doing a mobile order to try more of their coffee. First time and I loved it! I had the honey bear (coffee) first round. It was a wonderful latte and at the end the honey taste kicks in. I also had the bear claw which was delish. They had a rack of clearance rescate logo clothes cute n cheap. New line comes out Sept of every year. Before leaving I had a round 2 of coffee. This time it was the iced vietnamese coffee. THIS PLACE STOLE MY HEART ! I absolutely love coming here in the morning to get an iced white mocha and a bagel. They make my drink spot on every time no matter who is working. It is *so nice* to have Rescate coffee in Elk Grove! Rescate roasts their own beans in-house (and I believe they're the only cafe in Elk Grove that can boast that they roast!). You can always get *truly* fresh coffee to enjoy there or to take home to grind and make whenever you'd like. We typically buy a pound and a half each visit and keep coming back. (And you get treated to a free cup of coffee when you buy beans.) The staff is friendly, and the space is warm and inviting. We love that this business supports animal welfare (they are sponsors of the Friends of Elk Grove Animal Shelter). It's fitting that their name, Rescate, means "Rescue." Edited after the response from Rescate: While it won't seem like it, I appreciate the response, Ladd. I actually intended to give Rescate another go at some point. I had some friends over recently and thought that it would be as good of a time as any as everyone loves coffee. So they did what people do and looked on Yelp for pictures and suggestions for Rescate. They also learned that you all have a discount/loyalty/punch card. Something that I didn't know and wasn't informed about when I went in... So fuck me, right? I guess you guys don't need or want my loyalty. Mission accomplished because you're not getting it. Original review : So I'm on this thing... I'm going to a lot of local coffee shops and ordering the same drink to compare them. My drink of choice is a breve cappuccino (cappuccino made with half and half instead of milk) unsweetened. The cream of the half and half really adds a huge pop of delicious and fatty flavor-y goodness. Went in and asked if they could make one (bonus points for a "yes" as not all places have the ability or willingness to make one). The guy taking my order barely made eye contact and was multitasking the entire time. I personally don't really care much about this but if that's your thing, then you might be disappointed here. The cup also left a lot to be desired. There was basically no flavor outside of the half and half. Could hardly taste the espresso at all. Stopped by Chocolate Fish later in the day for a wildly better cup and better service. read more

Just so nobody is confused like I was, the outside of this will say Grace Coffee but is actually Rescate! They are next to the ampm so just make sure to get in through that entrance or else you'll end up on the freeway :) But to actually review the place, it was great! The inside was very nicely decorated and had a very inviting vibe. They have a bunch of coffee, pastry, and burrito options at decent prices. I had a large iced mocha and a chorizo breakfast burrito that came out to be about $8.50 altogether. While the burrito was average, the coffee was amazing. It was the perfect sweetness without masking the coffee taste. I would highly recommend the coffee! read more

I had to take family members to the airport in Sacramento on Sunday. On the way back to Brentwood I decided I needed coffee. Got off the freeway looking for Starbucks. Instead ran into this cute local coffee place. The coffee was delicious, the scone yummy and the service was so nice and kind. Was visiting a friend for the weekend and wanted to try a local coffee place that wasn't a chain. I love discovering small independent coffee places wherever I go. I quickly found this place with a yelp search and dragged my friend along. She wanted McDonalds coffee and I told her yuck no way. So glad we went the staff was amazingly friendly asked us what our plans were that day and thanked us for stopping in. The iced coffee I got was creamy and delicious so smooth and I was so glad we went. Even my friend said her hot coffee was really good. We also ended up finding a breakfast food truck parked right outside the entrance. If they are there when you go definitely check it out the food was amazingly good! Not sure how often they are there but it went well with the delicious coffee. So if you are around the area and looking for good coffee I would definitely recommend! I have come here multiple times for their matcha lattes which I love that they have vanilla included in them. They always taste the same and never leave me disappointed. I just ordered food for two 5 minutes ago and it already came out. I'm Impressed every time with the quality and their promptness which I appreciate. Some days I take things to go and some days I Choose to sit down and enjoy brunch. Today is a study day and they have the setup that's conducive to that too. I love this coffee shop and their vibe. I strongly recommend you stop here after your Sunday church service, after a family walk, or even a study date treat. They have something for every sweet tooth and savory tongue ;-) All of this was under $15 so the prices are very affordable and worth it because the taste isn't compromised. Love the vibe of this coffee spot. The interior is pretty trendy, with a rustic homey feel. They have a good variety of specialty drinks like matcha latte, s'mores, horchata, Mexican chocolate, etc. I usually get a soy matcha tea latte, which comes with vanilla & honey & it never fails to satisfy. They have an assortment of baked goods, including gluten free options, which is cool. As far as the environment, it can get kind of noisy, but I have no problems getting studying done here. I see med students from the local med school coming here often to crack down as well. They have free wifi and a lot of places to sit, so it's a great place to get work done. I'll continue to come here to study & get some quality drinks! read more

When I moved here I really wanted to love this place. Prior to moving to California, I had an amazing local coffee roaster right up the street from me. If I'm rating Rescate's Coffee, I'd be rating it 1/5. The light roast tastes burned, the dark roast tastes burned. There isn't any flavor in this coffee besides, burnt. There's limited information available about the coffee such as country of origin of the bean, altitude, humidity, or even how the bean was processed. This all contributed to how the coffee tastes. The staff here is always very nice, the atmosphere is always clean, but I can't bring myself to drink this coffee. I'm assuming these 5 star reviews are from people who generally drink Starbucks. Personally if you're looking for local coffee, I'd recommend ChocolateFish, Insight, Temple, Old Soul, or Ritual. read more

We stopped by this place and I was so looking forward to trying a new coffee shop. We came in and opened their fridge to get some of their juices and for some reason the alarm went off for the fridge. I wasn't aware of that until one young guy from across the counter starts telling me " can you pls press the button on the bottom" so kindly did it and when I turned to look there were three young employees chilling at the register. And I am thinking one of them could have came to do it. So that was a bad start. Then I look at their specialty lattes and only one of them says that they are "out" so I order something that according to the sign they have and another employee tells me that they don't have it. Glad I visited this place when I was in town! The place can get very busy very quickly, but that gives you time to look at the menu! I was greeted with a "hi, good morning!" and the biggest smile =) I got their honey bear latte which was amazing. It smelled like graham crackers haha! The taste of the cinnamon and honey are very light. I wanted a veggie burrito, but they had already run out at 9 am! I opted for the lemon poppy scone instead which was delightful. Oh Rescate Coffee...how you offered us a brief but perfect respite from the other coffee places we've become all too familiar with. This particular place was a nice diamond in the rough for our recent road trip. Coffees were excellent and tasted delicious. Pastries were warmed. They even asked us if we wanted egg or no egg for our ham and cheese croissant because my partner has an uncooked egg protein allergy. YES! Bagel with cream cheese was delicious and toasted. Coffee houses these days seem to be filled with people completely shut off from the true world; everyone with a device pecking away on the small glass screen. People together but never a connection. Rescate means rescue in Spanish. Rescue was what I needed the other day.   This cozy shop has a huge recue mission on their hands. Their rescue mission is customers first, then four legged family members and finally contributing to the local community. This is the first coffee shop that I've been to with a fireplace.  Enjoyed a maple scone and a xocolatl cereza (cherry mexican mocha) by fireside as I sat for a moment chatting with friends.  The vibe was comfortable and almost felt like being at home. The proceeds from some of the products for sale in the shop goes towards animal rescue.  Before leaving I ordered an iced tropical tea called the Garden of Eden, refreshing and fruity.
