Yummy vietnamese coffee (traditional) that took about 10 minutes to fully brew, would've taken a little bit more condensed milk (i like it on the sweeter side). Also had a great jalapeño bagel, had had a nice kick to it. I thought i was gonna need more cream cheese, but the small about was good enough and didn't over power the bagel or the jalepeños. This was my first visit here. I went in to buy coffee and something to snack on. I ordered maple scones and coffee. There were no nut allergy disclosure labeled on display. After taking a bite of the scone I came down w an allergic reaction. The manager (I believe) came back w the nutrition information AFTER I took a bite of the pastry. While I was having my allergic reaction, the employers seemed unconcerned and after I asked the lady making my drink to just throw the coffee in the cup because i had to leave, she took a good 10 mins just to do so. Mind you she gave me nothing but ice. The coffee was great, but I would've appreciated it more if I got more coffee than ice, better service & concern, and a labeled display for future costumers. read more

They are friendly and get to know their customers without being overbearing or intrusive with their talk. I placed my order online. When I arrived at the cafe, it was super busy. I went to the pick up counter and checked if the coffee that was on the counter had my name on it..nope. So, I waited until someone looked my way. I asked one of the ladies if I was waiting at the right place since I had placed the order 20 minutes ago. That person says they are very busy and told me to wait. I waited for another 10 minutes. Pretty much everyone was gone. Then I looked at the name of the same drink that I had checked since it was still sitting there. Then I realized maybe they put the name of the drink on the cup instead of my name. So I asked if that was snickerdoodle and another guy said yes! So I asked, "Is that mine?" wanted to make sure I wasn't taking someone else's. The same gal who told me to wait said, "Whatever you ordered!" and walked away. I ended up taking it. So my order was there the whole time. I paid attention to the same gal who treated me unfriendly. I thought maybe she's just overworking. But no. She was very friendly to other customers. Maybe because I was a person of color? I did add a tip to my online order. I don't know why I received that kind of treatment. It was my first time there but probably my last time. My iced Snickerdoodle and croissant with jalapeño cheddar were good. My husband and I love this coffee place. The breakfast burritos are awesome. I really like the green tea latte too. I'm pretty picky when it comes to lattes and this one is exceptional. They're also super dog friendly which we love. We always bring our little guy with us when we go and everyone there is super nice to him. The jalapeño bagel is another must. It's very unique - not overpoweringly spicy but has a slight kick. Highly, highly recommend. read more

This place was a very pleasant surprise. I love Starbucks but I really wanted to try something new and different. My wife told me about this place so I thought I'd give it a shot. The atmosphere is very mellow and the employees are very nice. I ordered a drink and went to look for a seat, a nice employee brought my drink to me instead of yelling out my name....cough....Starbucks lol. Yes- Elk Grove's gem! First off, the atmosphere is comfy, hip and modern. The staff are awesome- tons of smiles & they provide friendly drink suggestions. They even personally walked my drink out to me to where I was sitting. I went with the "Honey Bear" as recommended- A PERFECT drink option for someone who is not a fan of too much sweetness in their coffee. As I was paying, the chocolate chip cookies caught the corner of my eye- I had to add that last minute. I'm sure glad I did, it paired perfectly with my Honey Bear drink. The cookies was soft and moist! Perfect stop after a dentist apt. :) I look forward to coming here with my family on the weekend to hang out. read more

I came to Rescate Coffee on a rainy Monday morning while visiting a friend in the area. She had spoken very highly of their breakfast menu and so I was pretty excited to check it out! This coffee shop is very conveniently located right near the I-5 Freeway, which makes it a great stop on your way to work in the morning! It is also right across the street from CNU Pharmacy School, so I can imagine it would get pretty packed with students in the afternoon. That morning, we ordered a house coffee and a white mocha, both of which were delicious! My friend also ordered an egg sandwich as well as two bagels for later. I wasn't too hungry this morning, but I did notice that for vegetarians - they offer a veggie croissant sandwich as well as a veggie breakfast burrito. As a Starbucks barista I rarely drink anything outside of Starbucks, but their americanos are so good. The staff is fairly friendly, haven't gotten any names to remember yet. And I'm not sure what espresso they use, or how their shots are pulled but they just come out so naturally sweet (as they should) and I drink my americanos black so I know how espresso should taste. First off, CUCUMBERS DO NOT BELONG ON AVOCADO TOAST! 2.5 for service because I was given extra spice for the bland avocado toast. The avocado toast had cucumber on the toast and then the avocado toast had no seasonings. This in addition to the type of bread used was absolutely terrible. It was a massacre. I just recently moved to Elk Grove and I've been looking for a local coffee shop close to home. I've been to Rescate three times. The first time, my cold brew was so gross I couldn't take more than a few sips. It tasted like water with a splash of coffee. My second time was lovely. All the drinks and food we ordered were perfect. Today, my most recent time, was extremely disappointing. We had a large order, so the barista would make drinks for smaller orders ahead of ours. It look 19 minutes to get five drinks made. The food wasn't good. We actually ended up leaving and going somewhere else for food and drinks. I don't think we will be back. read more

Our go to spot for coffee on the weekends, my husband likes the medium roast and my go to is either their horchata frap with an extra shot or and iced double espresso. Everyone is always super friendly and they were nice enough to give my daughter and I a tour of their roasting room and we were able to see the roasting process. I looked up popular coffee shops in the Elk Grove/Sac area because I wanted to try something new and they didn't disappoint. The lemon poppy seed muffins are to die for! A relaxed, welcoming environment and 20% of the proceeds from coffee mug sales are donated directly to Sacramento area animal rescue or adoption organizations - doesn't get much cooler than that! I was in the area and my friend raved about their horchata latte, so I decided to grab a drink here. Instead of the horchata though, I ordered the country pumpkin spice latte. I forgot what the cashier said made it different from the pumpkin spice latte. Sip sip and the drink was gone quickly. I had an opportunity to have two types of burritos, their veggie and bacon burrito, and it's absolutely bland, no flavor at all. I was very disappointed with the quality of their burritos, and really feel they need to make some needed changes if their going to sell this as a menu item. read more
