I usually wouldn't write a negative review about a thrift store -- especially one that claims to support a good cause -- but this was absolutely ridiculous. I've shopped at Rescue Treasures for years and have spent thousands of dollars there over time. But during a recent visit, I had one of the most disrespectful and bizarre experiences I've ever had in retail. I was looking at two inexpensive electronics -- a no-name security camera and a wireless backup cam, totaling maybe $28 with discounts -- and simply holding them while researching whether they were worth buying. A staff member came over and made what I now realize was fake small talk, then abruptly asked what I "intended to do" with the items. Before I could even finish explaining that I was still deciding, she physically pulled them out of my arms and insisted on keeping them behind the counter. I told her clearly I wasn't done with them -- I was still looking them up -- but she dismissed that and said, "People steal these from this section all the time." Excuse me? So because of other people's behavior, I get treated like a potential thief? Meanwhile, there were other customers walking around with much more expensive items in their hands -- none of whom were being followed, interrogated, or manhandled. I made it very clear: I don't need to steal. If I wanted to walk out with something, it certainly wouldn't be $20 worth of outdated electronics. To have my character questioned and my personal space violated like that -- over thrift-store junk -- was not only offensive, it was humiliating. And to make matters worse, the rest of the staff doubled down and treated me as if I had done something wrong. No apology, no acknowledgment, just cold condescension and a complete lack of accountability. I walked out disgusted, and frankly, I expected better from a place that claims to serve the community. That said, I will continue to shop here -- but on my terms. I expect to be treated with basic respect and not to be followed, interrogated, or physically grabbed again. Next time, I won't be so patient.

Totally misleading. This is not in fact fill a bag for $5. I filled a bag with kid's books and when I went to pay the rude lady said "You didn't think you would be able to buy all those for $5 did you?!" They said they would have to go through my bag and it would take them a while to figure out which ones were a part of the "fill a bag for $5 kid's books". She then called another lady over who said they need me to come back tomorrow to pick up the bag because it would take "so long." She then called over the store manager who was very condescending. I told her that I spent the last 20 min picking out books basically wasting my time and she said that the sign wasn't correct. So basically they are advertising this but not honoring it. She then had the audacity to tell me "please calm down" as I was very calm. I NEVER once raised my voice, spoke over her or did anything to give her any right to say that to me. When I told her that she was very inappropriate to say that as I was extremely calm as they (all three associates) all were rude and condescending, she apologized. I am appalled that they have such unprofessional and demeaning staff. I am ashamed that I have donated so much to them and they should be ashamed to cause a huge deal over children's books. For them to price gouge children's books is lame and not a good look. These books will be provided to children and benefit children in this community. I do not have a problem buying/donating money to help cats which is why I always used to shop and donate here but when they purposely price gouge and are rude while doing so, it leaves a very negative taste in my mouth for this organization. I will never shop or donate here again which only hurts the cats that I truly love and have a passion for helping. If only they cared about more than just cats...like children! Why not help children in their community? Most local thrift stores in fact donate many children's books to the children in their community. What a bad look for this organization. Shame on you!!!

This is a medium-sized thrift store in a fairly busy part of Walnut Creek. It's not in downtown, but it's about half a mile away from downtown. The store is extremely well organized, very tidy and everything in its place. For example, the books are very well organized by genre of literature, and then even organized by author. I was able to find a few novels by my favorite authors. Here's the key feature of this thrift store: All of the proceeds go to benefit little cats! In particular to help with spaying and neutering clinics. So all in all, a very fun thrift store to go shopping at Walnut Creek. Keep in mind they also have some great sales. Look for the colored tags to get a big discount!

I found a sports bra top that I think will fit. I'm not sure as there wasn't a dressing room. That was a huge downer. If they had a dressing room I would have bought a lot more items. I found pair of shorts that appeared to be my size, but for $15 I didn't want to take the change of it not fitting. Prices were a little high in my option. At the same time they have a 30% off senior discount so that makes up for the high prices on Tuesday for those 55+. My parents qualify so I saved $3 on my sports bra as they paid for it. Yea for a useful gift. My mom gets a lot of her puzzles here. She's a fan of the 300-500 piece puzzles. Most puzzles are 1,000 pieces so sometimes it's slim picking, but she still finds enough to keep her coming back. My dad loves the tie selection and loves his $0.50 ties. I sticky to the closeting selection and I usually can find an article of clothing. The 30% off surely helps with my selections and it's such a treat for them to buy it for me. Thy have electronics, lamps, sewing machines, kitchen ware, furniture, clothing, and much much more. They also have a higher end selection behind glass. I've never shopped there as I'm looking for really great deals at a reasonable price. They may not have dressing rooms, but they do have a bathroom so that is a total perk.

A Le Suit was priced well over $100, along with other items. Like I'm sorry, since when did used become "luxury resale adjacent"? A few items were reasonable, but the majority felt like someone discovered a pricing gun and a dream. At that point, just say you're a boutique and stand in it. Whoever is pricing at this location either needs retraining...or a gentle reintroduction to what the word thrift actually means. A true disappointment.

Instead of having to hunt for the good brands they are all good brands. Just note you are paying the price for not having to hunt. I found a nice summer black and white dress for $15, a pair of Ann Taylor Navy blue slacks in petite for $14, a pair of Athena leggings that weren't too long for also $14. Finding petite clothing is always a challenge for me. And since I'm vertically challenged I need the petite clothing options. What I came home with was all high quality pieces of clothing and good brands, but I walked out of there spending over $40. That's steeps for 3 pieces of clothing compared to the other stores we were at. The clothing is pretty well organized. They have 4 clearance racks. 2 outside the front door and 2 in the back near the books and furniture. I did find 2 dresses that I liked and 1 was a great fit, but it wasn't as nice as the black and white one I got so I saved some money and passed on it. It wasn't as nice half off and would have been $8 a better deal than the black and white one. I have to pick and choose what I buy as I want to budget my money and I don't need all that clothing. They had a whole rack of Disney clothing. Pants with Mickey Mouse on them and all different of Tshirts. There was a whole rack of swim wear, I didn't look as I got two suits at another thrift store and I don't even need 2 new suits. One would have been fine, but they were so cute and great deals that I got both of them. Next to the dressing room is a huge round rack of authentic wear, unfortunately it wasn't set out by size so you had to hunt, which wasn't that fun, but I did come out with a pair of leggings so it wasn't too bad. They had Rothy shoes but they only had size 6, but it was for only $30. What a steal compared to their online price. They had another brand but, those were only size 7. If you were one of those sizes they were a steal. I didn't bring socks so I couldn't try on the shoes, opps. They had a nice pair of hiking boots that could have been perfect for me, Keens. I really wanted to love the, but due to they were $30 with out socks I didn't want to risk it. Plus they were missing their insoles. Next time I'll bring socks. One huge perk an a shiny star for them as they had two dressing rooms. No bathroom, but dressing rooms which is more important if you are looking to buy clothing that is a bit pricy that you don't want to dump them when you get home. Parking is a chore. There is a private lot connected to the strip mall, but they also have meters. To add to that the meter maid was walking around giving tickets as we were leaving. They do have big sign as you enter the store that parking is paid. That is a dower or this store as the other stores all had free lots. All in all I would go back to this thrift store. I love they have dressing rooms and their selection of clothing. They had other item such as books, houseware, furniture, ect.

They have tons of stuff and always have a sale rack. I usually buy shoes, handbags and sunglasses. However, they have lots of clothing, jackets, and jewelry as well. I've read some of the reviews and they say a lot of times people don't greet them while they're shopping. That has happened to me only once. They usually have a lot of great friendly employees ready to assist you. If you are selling clothes, you need to call them and make an appointment which I recommend. Another tip is if you're selling clothes and have a haul to bring in they have a parking lot in the back with easy access to the store. They also have plenty of street parking in front of the store and nearby. I recently went in to pick up a bag that I had them pulled because it didn't sell at a higher price so I decided to keep the handbag and to pick up my check. I hate to admit, however, they sometimes can be a little forgetful when it comes to mailing you your check. I recommend calling in to see how your clothes are doing, and if they've been sold I ask them to mail me my check. And unfortunately they have forgotten two times to mail me my check so now I just pick up my check and I also use it as an opportunity to shop and have lunch in the area. I enjoy and recommend Labels to all the fashionistas out there!
