My wife and I had a fantastic lunch today. We sat at the bar, I would recommend sitting here, great service and atmosphere. Our server/bartender Pam was fantastic, not only did she server a nice oil with the complimentary bread, when we asked for the bread pudding of the day and cheesecake of the day she came back with the information and how it's prepared. She also garnished it too. The pizza of the day (changes, obviously in the name) was BBQ Chicken and it tasted amazing, pair it with the lobster corn chowder and it's delicious. My wife and I had dinner here Friday evening. We arrived around 6:30 and the hostess told us they would seat us in a few minutes as they needed clear off our table. We were eventually seated 15-minutes later. Our waitress was pleasant enough, but was so inefficient. It took 15-minutes before she took our appetizer/entree order, then another 20-minutes before our appetizer (cup of soup) arrived. She had forgot to place the appetizer order. Our entrees eventually arrived 1.5 hours (at 8:15pm) after our initial order. To the restaurant's credit, the food is good and this was my third visit. All previous visits have been met with the usual slow service, but this last one particularly stood out more than the others. Do expect to wait for your drinks, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and even having your credit card processed. Certainly not a venue if you are pressed for time. In summary, good food but expect to wait patiently at Restaurant 45. read more

Less than impressed. Those two stars are for the waitress, she did her best on a busy night (New Years). I ordered surf and turf but substituted the NY sirloin for a "filet." I can tell you with all honesty that I had a better piece of meat on the burger that I picked up from Burger King on the way home. Speaking of burgers, the "filet" was about the size of a burger but had a vein of fat going through the middle that dissolved while it was being overcooked. So I was served a hamburger sized piece of meat that was barely held together. The "surf" aspect of the meal should be more clearly labeled as breading as it was 3 pieces of shrimp covered in a bowl full of breading that I assumed they call stuffing. Needless to say I wasnt very happy paying almost $30 for that. The waitress knew without me saying anything how disappointed I was and spoke with management who offered me complimentary dessert. I didn't go out to dinner so I could fill up on free dessert because my meal sucked. So I went home hungry. My wife wasnt very impressed with her meal either but I'm not going to speak for her, she can write her own review. I typically give a restaurant a second chance especially if it was just a bad meal. But this was kinda ridiculous. There is a difference in missing the mark and just not caring. No second chance here. read more

We had a delicious dinner but very sadly the very rude waitress ruined this really nice night out with friends. We asked for separate checks & were told it couldn't be done. Ordered some wine & when asked a question about it got a very short,snappy reply. We were a group of 7 which means many dishes & so one of us asked if she wanted to talk some of the used dishes & her rude reply was "well if you want me to"!! I had the corn & lobster chowder for a starting and it was heaven! I could have eaten a bowl rather than a cup. Outstanding. Just a touch of sweetness. I also had the Oriental Chicken salad. Very good. Fried chicken on the salad was crisp and the dressing was terrific. Huge salad. I couldn't even finish half. Service was the only down side, but maybe because I was reading they didn't want to bother me. I had to get another waitress' attention to get more ice tea. My family and I tried this restaurant because we have driven by it so many times. Upon walking in my children asked "what is that gross smell?". It smelled a bit like stagnant water but we headed to our table anyways. We sat in the back room which is so outdated and dingy looking. We got the crab cakes to start and the best part was the dipping sauce. The cakes had no crust and were very mushy. It took a very long time for our meals to arrive. My fish was so over cooked and the steak tips had pieces of burnt rosemary on them. My daughter complained about how dry her chicken fingers were as well. My husband and I have been coming here for many years. Last night, we arrived at Restaurant 45 at approximately 615. We were told the wait was between half an hour to forty five minutes, and decided to put our name in and wait. Now, the "lobby" of the restaurant has one bar stool, and can fill up quickly with people while they wait to be seated. I am expecting, and while people offered me the only bar stool, I stood because I didn't want to take away from the elderly woman who was currently occupying the stool. We waited for over an hour to be seated. The hostess was less than helpful and kept telling us "ten more minutes" or "you're next on the list". If we knew we would be waiting over an hour for a table, we would have went elsewhere. The GM really needs to find someone else to run the front of the house. Complete train wreck. It's a shame because the food and service is great every time.. but last nights experience was the last. read more

Without a doubt, hands down the best place to eat in the area. yes, you can get better food in the city. But Medway ain't the city. I've known the owners for years, back when they owned Peppercorn's in Milford, and this place is actually better than their former establishment. I've never had a bad meal, ever. The waitstaff, at times, leaves something to be desired (usually when they're over the age of 55), but overall, great service, great food, great atmosphere. And GREAT pizza. read more

This is quickly becoming one of our new favorite restaurants after moving to the area. Staff is friendly and doesnt seem to turn over. Menu is huge and everything we have had (chicken and pasta dishes) have been excellent and gives us some leftovers. We discovered if its busy on a weekend and you didnt make reservations, you can sit in the back bar and dining room and its all first come, first serve. read more

Wow! This is a restaurant we have enjoyed to go to for the outdoor sitting and their salads. Today, was an absolutely gorgeous day and we wanted to sit outside. We waited for a little bit but no one came out so I went in and asked the bartender, she informed me that service starts at 12pm ( surprised because we've been there before around the same time and had never had a problem) the bartender did offer us water and soft drinks which we accepted to wait until 12pm. 2 other families came close to 12pm and they immediately get menus and the waitress takes their drinks and then a second time to get their food orders, we continue to wait ( she couldn't miss us we were the middle table between the other two tables that she was serving). With NO acknowledgement on her behalf. Finally, I say something to her and she responds "the bartender is really busy, I'll try to come to your table". Really?!! We were the FIRST ones there. I finally sent my husband in to pay for our waters and sodas so we could leave. The bartender was apologetic but come on if the bartender is our waitress and she is extremely busy then the other waitress should help out. read more

Blown away. Wait for 2 on a Friday night was over 25 minutes. The hostess assured us if we waited in the lounge she would seat us. First time meeting Paul, the bartender and he was delightful. Very attentive, made a delicious cantaloupe martini & offered us bread & oil as we waited for a table. Tried the shrimp cocktail which came with 8 jumbo shrimp. Simple but wonderful. Sure enough the hostess checked in but at this point we were content at the bar. Enjoyed a delicious rigatoni dish with sausage, chicken, & spinach - brought home plenty of leftovers. His burger was complete with fried mac & cheese, cooked perfectly. Great company at the bar, every patron was friendly. Enjoyed my night thoroughly very happy to have chosen 45 for a date night! This has become a favorite local spot, where we can enjoy some nice drinks and a tasty dinner. Def eat in the bar / lounge area - much more social and upbeat than the dining room areas. The food is plentiful and the pizza specifically rocked! This is pretty spot on for American/Italian. I've never been to the actual restauraunt to eat, but I've had meetings catered by them, and the Chicken Marsala is to die for! Would definatley recommend. I've seen it get pretty busy here on the weekend, but not as bad as the chain Italian restauraunts nearby. read more

We stopped there on a whim after going to an auction at a close by vfw. the place is a perfect combination of casual and fancy. the restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated (we went there during the holiday season). great wine list and draft beer list. wait staff was friendly and personable. the jambalaya was to die for! and the stuffed chicken was amazing along with the mashed potatoes. a great amount of food for the price. the bar is near the womens bathroom and was packed. my only complaint is that we didn't visit the bar area and we live in CT and can't eat there all the time. a real gem in a small town. read more

Went to restaurant 45 last night for dinner and, as always, both the service and food were phenomenal. Our waitress, Ashley, was extremely accommodating, friendly, and always had our best interest in mind when it came to recommendations. I ordered the zio's chicken for dinner and it was amazing! We also ordered the boneless buffalo tenders, artichoke and spinach dip, and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers and they were absolutely delicious. My wife and I pulled into this place's parking lot on our motorcycles and were surprised to see spaces specifically for them. It set a good tone, but the food is another matter. I ordered a New York strip with a side of stuffed shrimp. My wife ordered scrod. My steak was overdone and the shrimp was swimming in an oily butter. My wife's fish was over cooked as well. I am known for my steel stomach - I rarely get sick, but something in this meal did the trick. (I don't get the sense it was food poisoning, but had something to do with the oily shrimp.) So imagine racing home on a motorcycle in gastrointestinal distress. (Don't worry, I made it.) The only thing keeping me from giving it a one was the pleasant waitress we had. I want to think this was a fluke, and for some reason I want to give them another try. Maybe we'll take the car next time. read more

I've been to many places around the metro west/109 area and I'd say the 45 is definately a top 3. The food is great and the ambience is amazing. Right down the road from 495 it's a great place for business parties, birthdays, wedding parties, you name it. They also have a bar and outside patio which is gorgeous. The bar is great and I always get a nice beer or margarita when I'm there. The seafood is great and I recommend anything that comes with the local oysters or scallops. I came here for a baby shower and that experience is what this review is based on. We got there at noon on a Saturday and parking was quick and easy. The private room was a good size, but I'm not sure if our party had too many for the room or if cramped and oddly set up is the norm. We had about 70 and there was little breathing room and it seemed that the guests and waitstaff were constantly in each others ways. The appetizers were set up on a small table in the back of the room... Very awkward to access and bumping into people left and right was the theme for the event. The spinach and artichoke dip and chips were delish, the cheese and crackers standard and stuffed mushroom ok. Our plated meal choices were stuffed shrimp, steak tips, angel hair with pomodoro or chicken masala topped with roasted reds, spinach and cheese. The shrimp was tough and overly stuffed. The chicken was tasty. The angel hair was a good portion. No one at our table had the steak. Portions were a good size. The waitstaff seemed to be a constant struggle. Either they got orders incorrectly, dropped stuff and were constantly in the way. They weren't particularly friendly and when the children in our party asked for reasonable modifications (i.e.I won't eat the mashed potatoes, so you can leave it off) to their meals, they were told no curtly. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience, but if you decide to book a private room, be mindful of the room set up to ensure you have room to mix and mingle. read more

Went to this restaurant twice in one weekend, once for a baby shower luncheon I helped organize and once for dinner with my family because I liked the restaurant enough to come back. Haven't been here in a long time since it was called Speroni's in the old days. For the baby shower luncheon - they were really easy to work with in advance, and the service was excellent - very friendly and nice. We had a group of 20 people and everyone enjoyed the space that we had. We were free to decorate how we liked and they were great about the cake cutting (they provide ice cream with the cake you bring), and the service. Had the steak tips and they were very good (probably slightly overdone, but I think they would have been better if ordered at dinner instead of at a function).The party also really liked the chicken and broccoli dish. The second time I brought back my family for dinner - again the service was very good, and they were kid-friendly with crayons for the children. I had the prime rib and for under $20 it was an excellent value and delicious. I really enjoyed myself and will definitely come back. Not sure what the previous review means about the place feeling like a cafeteria - the main dining room I sat in had a mix of booths and tables and definitely felt like a casual, comfortable restaurant. When you walk into the main dining room, it feels very much like a cafeteria, all the tables are lined up the same way and just doesn't feel like a restaurant. The menu is an eclectic mix of flavors, overall it was okay. The menu consisted of a lot of seafood offerings which was exciting as in the Milford area you don't find a lot of restaurants offering a variety of fresh seafood dishes. For an appetizer we ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the Paul's Shrimp Mozambique, but were okay but were both bland, they would have been much nicer with a bit of salt. For a main course I ordered the Niro Seafood Melange which was one of the signature dishes.. It was flavorful and nicely done, except the shrimp were overcooked and the scallops very undercooked. For desert we ordered the cobbler and the bread pudding, the cobbler was very nicely done but the bread pudding was practically raw in the middle, otherwise it would have been absolutely delightful. Lastly was the service, I wont go into details on this to spare the feelings of our server, but it annoys me greatly at dinner when waiters are oblivious to the needs of the customers at the table. I would go back here again, but would like to see the restaurant focusing more on local ingredients and flavors, supporting local farms and purveyors. P.S Turn the rows of tables in the dining room at angles or something so it doesn't feel like a giant high school cafeteria! read more

My parents and I enjoyed the old school Italian restaurant atmosphere, not fancy but comfortable and warm. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly and was right there when we needed anything. It's so hard to find good food out here in the burbs, but this place has good food. Pricey though. Portions are hefty. Service is friendly. Parking lot is tight especially on a friday or saturday night. Folks had to park at the Dunks across the street. Friend who has trouble walking had trouble finding a handicap spot. Had a reservation but still had to wait to be seated. All of my complaints aren't really based on the most important thing- the food - so if you are hungry, you should probably go here. read more

Good family restaurant, clean, busy with a complete and interesting menu. If you like seafood, have the Niro Melange. I say this seriously, it's one of the best dishes I have ever had - scallops, mushrooms, onions In a saffron cream sauce with risotto cakes pan fried.
