I had high expectations for this restaurant due to the Yelp reviews. I wanted it to become a favorite as it is close to my home and, apparently, family-owned. However, I was disappointed by the service and the price. We had the guacamole, a cricket taco, a pibil taco, and the tirtilla/bean soup. Regular water to drink. The bill came to almost $20! I was most disappointed by the guacamole because it was hardly two spoonfuls of guacamole and it was $6.95! The rest was tasty, but similarly small-portioned. For a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with no parking, it sure has high prices and poor service. You'd be better off trying one of the many other authentic choices nearby. read more

My absolute favorite chilaquiles verdes! I love coming here for breakfast. Cafe de olla is delicious and authentic. The chilaquiles verdes are my go-to, and I add an order of eggs when I'm feeling extra hungry. Portions are perfect considering the price, but if you have some space left, order dessert! Real authentic Mexican bfast. Fresh made warm tortillas. A real hidden gem for the city of Bell. I love the huevos rancheros with a big cold glass of horchata. The food was excellent but the customer service was one of the worst. The Sopa Azteca was one of the best various versions I've tried. The Mixiote de Borrego didn't come in the traditional wrapping but it was very good, the Reyna Afrodita is perfect if you're in the mood for something citrusy. Unfortunately the service was very rude, this is coming from someone with experience in the food industry. It wasn't a very busy service and the place is small so I couldn't excuse the inattentive rude service. I'd like to come back for their delicious food but not sure I want to go through a bad customer experience. read more

High quality eating in one of the nicest "hole-in-the-wall" places you'll find. If you like moles, then this place is a no brainer. During peak hours, parking can be a bit of a pain. This is in an all industrial area, street parking can be limited, but they do have a few stalls behind the building although very small and narrow getting back there. I got to say, I'm a little bit impressed, the food was delicious, for appetizers we had the guacamole with pasión fruit and habanero and the empanadas, flor de calabaza and huitlacoche, main dish was pipián con pollo and enchiladas de queso cotija. This place is out in the middle of nowhere or so it seems. Parking is tricky, we had to park a few blocks away. The place is pretty small yet comfortable and cozy. I ordered the grasshopper taco, just to try it, and the tortilla was delicious as well as the salsa. However, I just couldn't get myself to eat those critters as I felt their little legs crunching in my mouth..ugh! I ordered the chicken enchiladas with poblano mole. The mole was tasty but I like my chicken shredded inside just my preference, instead it's in chunks. Overall great experience very fresh food and very well prepared. read more

This place is a hole in the wall, the green mole is the best one but too be honest its not to die for. The thing that sucked the most is the service. If you want a waitress to answer you in a monotone voice and rolling her eyes every time you ask or order something then this is the place for you, if you want to be treated courteously and want good mole your better off going elsewhere. I love their chilaquiles en salsa de flor de calabaza, rabo de mestiza, and huevos con panela en salsa verde. Mole enchiladas were amazing. The mole de los Reyes was a type of mole I have never tried before. Sweet with touches of savory. Their carne asada tacos were really good too, with the tortillas having a strong corn flavor. The pumpkin flower blossom soup was also great, with mushrooms and spicy jalapeño chilies. Standout for me is the horchata. Amazing flavor but they are brilliant in adding pumpkin seeds and rim in the glass of Miguelito or some other type of sweet-sour Mexican candy. My boyfriend and I found this place on yelp. The waiter was telling us that they have only been open about 5 months, but have been really busy since opening. There was a good crowd for a Friday night. The waiter was a little busy, there was a packed house, but the food was worth it. We tried the mole verde and it was great. They have awesome horchata as well. You have to find street parking, but its not too bad since its bordering HP on the more commercial side. Try this place. I would've never heard of this place had I not googled "best mole in Orange County". Although the place is located in Bell, it was definitely worth the 45 minute drive. The restaurant itself is very small but quaint inside. My mother and I started off with agua frescas as they have no alcohol here. I ordered the Jamaica/fresa and my mom did Horchata. Both were delicious! I highly recommend the Tres Coronas appetizer as it comes with three empanadas with three different stuffings. They have about 7 moles to choose from - we couldn't have them all unfortunately so we tried the green mole and the mole de Los Reyes -which was a type of black mole with a hint of sweet. They were very good! And they serve you homemade tortillas! I highly recommend this placeZ was definitely not disappointed. read more

As of late I have limited my yelp activity to the 140 character variety and neglected my civic duty to inform, those who care, of the really good must-try places or those you should steer clear and avoid. I end my literary fast with a review of Rocio's Mole de los Dioses in the hope it will encourage some of you to give them a try. It's literally a hole in the wall located in a nondescript industrial part of Bell, CA. The place is very small with seating for approximately 25 people. There is an open view of the kitchen and the place is clean, albeit only 3 months old. Their specialty is unequivocally moles and they have several different recipes. The owner who was absent during our visit hails from Oaxaca, which is one of the most well know states in Mexico for moles. We were greeted warmly by the waitstaff and they were both very helpful in assisting us with our decision. They described the various moles and let us try a few. The ordering process is simple, but a bit confusing if you had to make the choice for the first time. Basically there is a litany of proteins to which you match a mole of your choosing. I am not into the chocolatey moles and so i settled for a spicier variety (Manchamanteles) which she suggested went well with a beef filet. Boy did it. We also chose the Tres Soles Empanadas (potosina, cuitlacoche and blossom zucchini). They were all really good, but the cuitachoche or huitachoche as it is also called (a naturally-occuring fungus that grows atop of corn and in the husk) was by far my favorite. These empanadas come in a set of three and i am convinced we had the perfect dishes for a first time visit. I read another review where they gave out just one star and i can't even understand how that's possible. And although I am not Mexican by anything genetically measurable, if ingestion counted for anything at all i'd be at least one-fifth Hispanic, not to mention i have been to several states in Mexico, including Oaxaca, moles birth-place. Also it's byob and that's an automatic star, like the 400 points you automatically get for signing your name on the SAT form, so at worst it's a two star joint. But this place is really good. Really. Although they didn't serve alcohol they do have Mexican Coke and a variety of juices including Chia lemonade (Dr. Oz recommends it) No, not this place but Chia. read more
