Best mexican restaurant I've had in LA area for sure. Everything I tried was extremely tasty, including the crickets! Best horchata I've had, some other funky drink my gf had was super good too, chips and salsa (salsa was great), cricket tacos (amazing), cricket soup (a little too salty but still great), the mole sampler (every mole was good so we chose 2 different types for our main meals), beef was perfect, homemade tortillas perfect, complimentary ice cream (just because he knew how much we enjoyed the food) had a unique taste and was delicious, mexican coffee fucking great, and flan was good too. All in all, a great experience and I'm gathering another group of people to go back so they can all enjoy this little diamond. read more

And seriously...pork grilled gently over a bed of beautiful vegetables, rice, and a verde mole sauce that's mild, packed with flavor and pepitas sprinkled over. I have to say that I wasnt expecting it, but I absolutely love this place and have never had mole this good(except for my momma's) lol. . But I haven't just had mole, their empanadas Tres Coronas, are exceptional. The aguas are always perfect to wash everything down and finally, the dessert Reina Del Universo is so delicious my mouth waters just thinking about it. I love mole it's one of the most delicious things in life. So I decided to give this place a try. The wait wasn't so bad and customer service was good , food was good. But the one think that pissed me off, was the cook that was acting a damn fool! He was upset because I asked them if they could please put the onions in a separate container. You have got he kidding me! I am a customer! A paying customer and for you be upset over something so small is beyond me! He was making a fuss and being a complete asshole to the nice young lady that was helping me out. He refused to put the onions in a separate container. Amazing food, wonderful service!! I am very picky about my mole and this place does not disappoint. The mole poblano was delicious. The horchata was yum and served with pepitas and a pink sugar rim (so fun!) The desert plantains were the best thing I have eaten all year!!! So yummy. My hubby found this hidden gem in the Maywood/Huntington Park/area which is literally 2 minutes away from our home. I used to be a regular before and i really liked the food at first but the service was always bad in the morning. I had a plate of enmoladas with a rock in the beans one time, and another time they served me undercooked salmon... Good mole pipian!!! Went on a weekend and it seems to be less crowded. A hole in the wall for sure, with well maintain interior, feels bigger than it looks. The flan is served with rompope and its notnto sweet. Would most certainly recommend this place. The service is also very friendly. I would just like to see plain tamales on the menu. My girl and I had dinner here last night and absolutely loved it. Excellent service, extraordinary food. I live in HP less than one mile from Rocio's so I just found my new favorite restaurant in my hood. I had the Diosa Mayahuel (shrimp in tequila sauce), my girlfriend had the Emoladas, and we shared the Plaintains in tequila sauce desert. The shrimp was delicious, and the sauce was unlike any other sauce I've tasted in Mexican food. My girlfriend's Emoladas were just as good as any homemade Emoladas I've ever had. The Plaintains were perfect, not an overly sweet desert. I'm coming back soon for the 3 Soles Empanadas and the Ice cream desert. read more

This place is so good!! We found this place on Yelp! For awhile we were coming here every week but we got busy and haven't been back in a couple weeks. When we first drove up we thought what the?? It is located next door to a mattress warehouse and across the street is a tow yard. We sat in the car and were debating about going in, we ended up going in. It was so good!! We ordered the enchiladas with the spiciest mole and the shrimp plate with the tequila sauce. It was super delish! We also had the Agua de Pepino and to our surprise it was so good. We tried the Horchata and although we thought how weird that it has pumpkin seeds, it was delish too. This is the spot for good food, good mole and great service.
