Pork sliders were the best thing we ate as they had a sliced apple which was a nice touch. The grilled nugs were dry and tasted just like the restaurant smells, even with pineapple habanero sauce. Made my first trip here, and I'm a fan. All of the beer is brewed on-site, and they'll happily serve you a flight (even with extra 4 oz. tasters, if you ask) so you can try them all. The burger I ordered was cooked perfectly to my request, the fries were very good, and left with a full belly and a new place to visit. The only drawback I had was service that was friendly, but a bit less attentive than I would have liked. Our server never noticed that another person joined our party, and I felt like we had to stop her just to get her attention (as opposed to having her just check to see how things were going). Parking might be scary if you try to park on the street, but as pointed out by others, there is parking in the rear (and a rear entrance, too). Don't let that keep you from coming. Restoration has awesome brews and a fantastic menu - a Columbus-grade brew pub in Delaware. They have a small patio space but plenty of bar and table seating inside. The atmosphere is laid-back with exposed two-stroke brick walls and a concrete bar. Our bartender was very nice and gave great recommendations. Multiple TV's around the space show the beers on tap including IBU's and ABV. I always appreciate a brewery that posts the IBU's for those of us that prefer the less bitter beers. They have 8oz and 14oz pours which I love for days I want to taste a few and still walk out of the bar. I enjoyed the SGA golden ale and my husband loved the Irish Red Ale. He also had the nitro English mild and enjoyed it. The menu is on the smaller side but sufficient with some fun twists on traditional brewery classics. We both ordered the burger because of the garlic aoili and it was incredible. The beef was flavorful, ingredients were fresh and juicy, and that garlic aoili rocked the meal. I ordered in on the side to dip fries in and put on my burger. I also ordered a side salad that was fresh with a delicious ranch dressing. The fries came with a tomato-based cinnamon sauce - you have to try it to believe it. I have a feeling they make their sauces in house because they were unique and flavorful. Wow! I am so upset that I waited so long to drive up to Delaware for this place. The space a nice and open, they even have a good size patio. The beer selection here was very good. They have something for everyone. Their American IPA was my favorite. The food selection here was really good too. The menu was not huge but that does not matter. I am really liking the downtown Delaware revival of the past few years. When I was growing up here, there was nothing but antiques and thrift stores downtown. Now there are restaurants of all kinds (and antiques) and cool shops and stores. Restoration Brew Worx is one of the newer establishments that took over the BeeHive books store. They brew their own beer and have a pretty cool, industrial space with TV's for sports fans and food for everyone. I must say, I was surprised at the quality of food and beer. My most recent visit was with my parents on a Saturday. We watched football, drank some beer, and had food. I had the "Hopped Up Chicken" sandwich. Wow. The flavors of this sandwich blew me away. Pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, LTO and the chicken was cooked perfectly. $10 for this sandwich which seems average for this place. They have burgers and other bar fare too. What they pride themselves on is their pork rinds. Fried fresh with your choice of dipping sauce. Holy cow. They tasted like straight-up fried chicken skin. So bad for you but soooo good. Matched with the chipotle aioli sauce. Perfection. I had an apricot beer and have had other beers there before. Not too sweet and light. They do seem to run out of their popular beers quick. Hopefully that will change as they continue tweaking their business model. I will definitely be back! read more

Some things they do really great but others, not so much. High points: I love their wings! I get the sauce on the side for dipping and they are perfectly crisp and a nice size. Beer and cider have also been very good every time we go. Fries are sort of like fair fries but not too oily. Specials are usually pretty good. Low points: I'm consider myself a soft pretzel "connoisseur" and was very excited to try the house made pretzel bread. Ick. A little over salted and much more bread-y than pretzel-y. The biggest disappointment was the "beer" cheese which barely had even a hint of beer and was grossly sweet. Also not a big fan of their house made ketchup, just seems odd to me. I know it's chiefly a brewery, but I wish the food selection was a little bit better. I do agree that service can be pretty lackluster when they are busy. read more

My husband and I came here on a whim because we were looking for something new. They have a decent selection of beers and ciders and wines, my husband had the American IPA but was not very impressed. They have a pretty limited food menu, and even more so when we were there because they ran out of pork carnitas which knocked about 1/4 of their menu out. I ordered the Big Girl grilled cheese and added chicken and fries, my husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches came with a side of a marinara type sauce, which was kind of confusing. My sandwich was very tasty, though for being a "Big Girl" sandwich it wasn't very big and if I hadn't added the chicken it would have been pretty meh with just two types of cheese on a grilled panini. My fries were fresh cut but over cooked. My husband liked his sandwich, though he said he could tell a bunch of the products on the sandwich came out of a can and therefore were not fresh. The atmosphere is pleasant. We went at about 9pm on a saturday and there were not many people there. It does not appear to ever be very busy, although it is winter so that could affect it. I'm a little confused by their hours, since they seem to close during prime drinking times, but hey - to each his own right? Overall, I don't have complaints so much as I was just not overly impressed with anything. It is better than Son of Thurman's, but not as good as Amato's. So I may or may not go back. Given all the top-level spots which have popped up in Delaware over the past several years, Restoration Brew Worx had a high bar to clear, and they've hit the mark. We stopped in for lunch on a cold Saturday morning, and were able to snag a seat far away from the door - the narrow set of the space means cold air shifts straight in - and were greeted right away and handed beer menus. Check! Their beer is darn tasty, better than I was expecting (not sure why, but there are so many microbreweries now that there can be gradations in quality). I liked everything in the five-sample flight. For food, it's solid and what you would expect from a beer pub - wings and sandwiches, mainly. Their Cuban sandwich was super-tasty and they make a French onion dip which makes getting chips as a side bearable. All in all, this is a good choice if you're looking for good beer and good food in Delaware. read more

We were visiting friends in Ohio and stopped into the Restoration on the main street of Delaware. We came in the back door and walked through the brewery to get to the tap room. The sign said to walk to the front to talk to the hostess where we were greeted by April who treated us like regular customers who she had just seen last week. The place is fairly big with a dozen tables and a long bar. A big TV over the bar with basketball (it was Saturday afternoon), and a number of other TVs around the room listing the beers and their qualities. I had the Judgement IPA and the Gorilla Stout. I like the Judgement an the Gorilla not as much. The food was really good. My friend had the Big Girl Grilled Cheese and I had the Three Beer Burger. Both were excellent although I would rather have had a regular bun as opposed to the ciabatta bread that it came with. The best part was the service we got from April who, even though she said it was her first day, was knowledgeable, friendly, prompt and thoroughly enjoyable. We don't come to Delaware very often but it will be a stop in the future. See you there. read more

I was shocked by the quality of my experience at Restoration. First, the food. I'm tired of the same old pub grub: pretzel sticks, chips, etc. This is elevated. The fondue-style cheese is amazingly tasty, with a consistency I don't think I've ever seen in this area. The pork rinds were remarkable (but that could just be because I don't eat pork rinds often). The food was worth the trip. The service was good, attentive, friendly, unassuming. I think the owner was lurking around, making sure things went well without stepping in. Nice touch. The interior of this spot is excellent - soaring ceilings, a comfortable bar, non-overbearing TVs and several tables. Looks to be good for all kinds of groups. It took almost 40 minutes for the server to ask us about food, and then another 30 for it to come out. We were the first group in the door with a total of about 5 other people in the bar. We ended up ordering two appetizers hoping to tide ourselves over. The nachos were good, but I found the lettuce on top a little weird. The pretzel bread was very good with the classic cheese dip. I had the three beer burger and loved it. I think the fries are cooked perfectly and the ketchup is a nice change from the over salted and sugary variations. Food was good! Had the fonduta- it tasted great, but probably shouldn't be considered a meal. I wish the menu had some healthier options, especially side options other than fries. The fries were very good. My partner had the burger and he really enjoyed it, but it had mayonnaise on it so ask for no mayo if you prefer! Everything is HOMEMADE including the ketchup, pickles and beer! Started with pretzel bread and beer cheese sauce. Pretzel loaf was hot and fresh...so good and almost filled my family of four up. We eat here often. Outstanding local beer, very well executed pub food, and familiar yet professional service. The atmosphere and vibe it great. We almost always get either the home made pretzel bread, or the corn doe bites, and the wings are awesome. We've also had a couple different burgers and they have all been very good. My husband and I stopped in here last weekend to give it a try and were extremely pleased!! We parked out back in the public parking lot - easy peasey! - and utilized their entrance off the parking lot -- which we both found a bit odd and a little "uncomfortable" because we felt like we were in an area of the restaurant we weren't supposed to be. My husband opted to try one of the server's recommendations for beer, after she had a discussion with him about what type of beer he typically prefers. Since neither my husband nor I are "big drinkers" (I don't drink beer at all), he appreciated the recommendation, as well as the option of being able to order a smaller size beer (if I remember correctly, it was 8 oz). He ended up loving the selection that he made - and kind of regretted not ordering a larger size! LOL...(sorry, can't remember exactly what he ordered). Our food arrived quickly and everything was EXCELLENT!! My husband got their fish sandwich with house chips and I ordered a burger with their house fries - so we could "trial" both! And we weren't disappointed!! We would both order the same items again -- but there are lots of OTHER yummy sounding things on their menu so...! There is a fair amount of seating inside - although it's not a "huge" place - but they also have a small patio out front for use during warmer weather. We had no issues seating wise when we were there, but could see that it might get a tad crowded at "peak" times... We found the inside of the restaurant to be very pleasant when we were there. One of the "third wave" of craft breweries to open in the greater Columbus / central Ohio area in the past few years, Restoration Brew Worx is a labor of love for owner and head brewer Frank Barickman, who has been one of the best known Grand Master brewing judges working in the area for many years. Featuring a 10 barrel nano system, Frank has a series of fermenters and bright tanks available to help keep a broad spectrum of brews available on tap, from the Double Judgement DIPA to their Gorilla nitro stout. I really enjoyed a taste of the "Simple" english ale, and their SGA golden ale is a nice balance between refreshing flavor and a nice hop finish on the back end, keeping it from becoming too sweet. We got in on a visit just before the kitchen closed, so I got to try a few of their appetizers, and really enjoyed the house made chicarrons, but the pretzel bread and garlic buffalo wings weren't bad either. Even better, Frank was able to give us a brief walkthrough of the brewery space, and mentioned he's going to be working on a couple of new beers featuring a new malt that was grown AND malted here in Ohio - one of the first breweries I know of to offer that! If you live in the area, or are coming up to Delaware for a visit and enjoy craft beer, this is an excellent stop. I highly recommend giving Restoration a look. read more

My DH, not one to give up easily, gave it a good try and is paying the price for it now. In retrospect, we should have sent it back. Instead, we paid the check and moved on. Downtown Delaware is charming and chock full of other restaurants to try. Based on the other reviews maybe this is a simple misstep from the kitchen.
