Fun brewery to check out! We came here while we were visiting Washington during the weeks of July 4th. We had two toddlers and loads of fun playing card games on the couch. My brother in law drank few beers and the rest of our group had some cookie dough ice cream! The ice cream was delicious and creamy. It was a perfect treat on a humid rainy ish day actually. Reuben's Brews is a brewery in the Ballard brewery district of Seattle. There's a wall featuring medals, so this place seems to be known for making award-winning beers. I tried the Crikey!, the beer that is the most awarded IPA in Washington. It is $7.50 for 16oz. The staff service is excellent. They proactively asked if I had questions and was quick to explain things. There's indoor and outdoor seating that's perfect for gatherings and hangouts. Have been to Reubens a few times now but haven't reviewed it. Until now. Reubens I may go so far enough to say is the most popular and maybe biggest Brewery in the area. My latest visit I was doing a bit of brew hopping and the food truck was still open while others in the area had closed and left the area. So, this is good to know if you're trying to get a few sips still and it's late. The selection here is always pretty balanced including plenty of IPA's - hazy and imperial, Amber's, lagers and more whereas the other spots seem to specialize in a few brews (which is fine). I go back to my observation of Reubens perhaps being the biggest as when you enter the yard there must be about a dozen tables which even on the most packed sunny days should allow you a spot. If you're brew hopping, definitely add Reubens to your rotation. read more

The beers were all fantastic and they also had NA options for my girl. I opted for the flight on my visit and went heavy ipa selections. All were delicious and I had a couple of full pours. Fast and friendly service! This venue offers lots of open seating. It's even bigger than I thought it was when we first walked in. There's a room with large mounted tvs, a back room with more TVs, and a give beautiful outdoor area. On this occasion, a tv was set up outside for the Mariners game. There were so many friendly patrons too. We were allowed to share a table with a nice lady so we could watch the game. We also walked away having met former Austinites that relocated to Seattle. We were in the mood for some brews after spending time at the Nordic museum in Ballard so we decided to checkout Reuben's Brews. Here's my take on the experience: Quality of beer: Good. I tried their porter and hazy IPA and both were delicious and tasted fresh. The porter was not at all bitter and super smooth. The hazy IPA had that unfiltered goodness that you would expect. They have over 20 beers covering a wide spectrum including IPAs, sours, seltzers, and dark. Décor: typical/relaxed. The outside area has nice big picnic tables which were well spaced apart. The inside area is dark and quiet for more privacy. Cleanliness: okay. Many of the outside picnic tables had a bunch of food crumbs or beer spills and it didn't look like the place was staffed to keep them clean throughout the day. Service: good. I was happily offered samples to try and the staff was quick and courteous. Price: kinda high for a brewery. The beers were either $7.50 or $8. I would have expected a bit cheaper price (~$6-$7) since they don't have a middle man and you're going straight to the source of the beer. If you're up for some good quality beers in a cozy atmosphere then Reuben's Brews is a solid choice. read more

We were on a brewery tour with Cycle Saloon and this was the first stop. Fun atmosphere with a couple of nice murals and lots of seating areas. We sat in the back room and played a board game while we enjoyed their beers. They have a nice selection and there is a decent amount of food options too. AMAZING BREWS & EATS! Yes, this area of Ballard is full of breweries, alas, most of them do NOT serve food. Reuben's is the exception with a variety of pub fare. I had the Smash Burger with Cheese!. It was great with my flight of Reuban's IPAs. You order your food from the bar where you get your beer. They give you a pager and tell you to pick up your food at the little trailer outside when it goes off. I took my flight and found myself a seat outside. There's also inside seating. I didn't have to wait long for my pager to go off, and I picked up my Smashburger and fries. It was very good, and the beer was excellent. Had an awesome time at Reuben's Brews. I was so excited to try it as I've had their beers shipped to me out of state in the paste and they've always been consistently good. I wont' review every beer but what I would say is they were consistently good. Only one was disappointing - the festbier - but the rest were good and I especially liked the roggenbier. The three stouts I tried didn't have the strongest adjunct flavor which was fine because the base stout was quite good. The Gimme Smores probably just outshone the pumpkin stout latte. The venue is fantastic - huge garden with long tables meant there was a ton of space for everyone to either sit together and meet people or spread out and just chill with one's spouse. I've been enjoying Reuben's for many years now and made it a point to go to the taproom the last time I was in Ballard. I arrived not too long after they opened and wasn't the first one in. This is a large, open space where you can take a peek at the brew area and enjoy some Henry art on the outside. Like most breweries, they have flights! There were a ton of choices on tap and deciding which ones I wanted was a struggle...do I get ones that I know I like in can to compare it to tap? Do I get all new-to-me? Do I have to come back for more? Yes, yes I do. Food menu is pretty small, but they had a vegan Reuben, which is exactly what I wanted!! So, so hard to find, I'm always happy when I can get my hands on one. The food sitiuition is a touch bit odd - you can order at the counter with your beer, but you go outside to a little trailer to pick it up. If it works, it works, right? The Reuben was absolutely delightful and I'd happily eat another one! I'm also happy that they had a good selection of shirts. While I was there this beautiful blue shirt kept speaking to me so I had to get it - an Oktoberfest shirt! All and all a very solid brewery - stop on by! read more

We were in town for a Sustainability conference and one of the evenings a business partner was hosting an evening social here at their private event space. We took a rideshare from downtown, took a bit to get out here since it was rush hour- but no worries. They brew their own beer, have seltzers, and cider on tap along with N/A beer for those who do not want alcohol. The small buffet had grilled cheese sandwiches, ballpark pretzels and sausages with rolls and all the toppings. I made up a couple plates for our team to share. Maddie was the main contact for any drinks we wanted from 8-8:30. She was friendly, professional, and basically handled 100+ people solo most of the evening. Impressive and also the one who helped me find the cider since I'm not a beer drinker. That being said, everyone I traveled with enjoyed themselves and appreciated the event immensely. What a great space! Cool vibes at the door as the staff greeted us. We had a group of 6 and the barkeep was very patient with us as we asked about different beers and decided on food. The beer was delicious as we headed outside to find even more indoor seating on the side of the building. Nice long table and bench seating were awaiting us as we enjoyed the libations and spoke of our day together. Soon the food was ready and did it hit the spot! This is a nice large outdoor/indoor space with several brews on tap. I had an amber something that was very tasty. Beau's crisp lager was a winner as well. The service was good and the food fast. We had a reuben of course and it was good. Definitely shareable. The pretzel and beer cheese meh. I don't recommend it. It came warm out of the microwave which means it hardened fast and the sauce was boring. I would definitely return and there is plenty of space for groups. Fairly accessible, well priced, and good quality food and beer! Located around the Ballard area, this place is located in the midst of many breweries. I only went here for beer as I am not too big of a beer person, but this place has a good variety - from IPAs to lighter hops to stouts (their BBIS). The beer can be tried as tasters in 4 oz cups, which is what I got, so I can try more variety. Note that it will cost a little more per ounce than if you get 12 oz, but you pay a premium for variety, which is fine since it isn't that much more. 3 4oz cups got me to a little under $10 after tax, which includes their stronger, pricier stout (BBIS with maple syrup). I don't care too much about their IPA but their BBIS is amazing - not carbonated, strong, a bit of coffee flavor, and a bit on the sweet side. For food, they have a food truck place called Reuben's Eats and I got the fried chicken sandwich original. For $11 before tax, it is a lot of food. The chicken is not the most seasoned but it was very crispy and juicy! Not the best sandwich but it pairs super well with the beer. My friend and I shared a ranch loaded special fries and we barely finished one order. It is good but they also give you a lot of food! We were originally going for the SRW special for $35 per person, but after finding out they only give you 3 4oz cups also as their pairing, we actually spent a lot less getting what we want (by half the price) and we were still very full. read more

After hitting up Great Notion directly across the street, we checked out Reuben's Brews. My dad wanted to go check them out and try one of their beers before heading back to our hotel. We sat outside at Great Notion, but we sat inside here because it was becoming a little chilly! I ordered an orange hard seltzer and my dad ordered their key lime beer (we were here specifically for that type of beer haha). I've been going for the fruity beer/ciders lately and the hard seltzer that I had was so delicious! It had that perfect orange flavor to it! My dad was so distracted by ordering the key lime beer he didn't even realize that there were 28 other beers on tap. He loved this beer so much that he decided to take a four pack back with him, which was also the case with another four pack he took back from Great Notion. They have four restrooms inside, with two of them containing baby changing stations, which is convenient if you have a baby in tow. They also have a food truck directly outside on their patio, titled Reuben's Eats. I really enjoyed Reuben's and I want to come back and try their other beers next time I visit Seattle! read more

I've been a fan of Reuben's since 2017 and they have been my #2 go to in Seattle (ranked below Holy Mountain), but lately their beers have been tasting super watery, particularly the IPAs. I might've been aiming for the pizza place across the street but there was a taco truck in front and more seating, along with a bit more lively atmosphere here. I'm so glad I came in! The truck was convenient for people watching and to grab a bite. I could try different beers while waiting, and if you love something, you can take some cans home too. After going to beer fests, it's nice to put two and two together by stopping by the actual brewery and learning a bit from the kind people serving. Maybe I recommend this spot. The strawberry rhubarb sour was delicious. This brewery suffers a bit from the Seattle freeze vibe I've grown to almost accustomed to. I'm referring to an almost unfriendly borderline don't bother me attitude that seems to be prevalent in the Seattle area. It's not necessarily rudeness but also not extremely welcoming. Anyhow, I asked about food as there is a food truck out front and the young said 3:00. The food truck did not open at 3:00. Boo. The tables were all sticky from, mmm, not sure, but the beer was delicious. And there were so many choices.I was just hungry and might have tried another beer if food had been available. I give this spot 4 stars as it had good beer and I would come back with a group of friends. It's definitely a friend place. Not a solo person place. Clean bathrooms though. Yeah. The Fremont Taproom location is great. There are a bunch of options within a few blocks in that area of Fremont and I've been to Reuben's twice and none of the other breweries so I can't do any kind of comparison. However, if I visit my Seattle buddy again and he says "Let's go to Reuben's" I would definitely say yes and not feel like we need to check out other places. When I tell you that I would drive all the way from Portland to Seattle to eat this salad - I am not kidding. The best chicken Caesar salad I've ever had, hands down.
