Funny enough, we did bring our little reunion to Reunion today. We came early so parking was easy, but keep in mind that parking could be tricky as this is a very popular area (the movie theater, improv, and just downtown brea itself patrons all need to park!) We ordered the Artichoke dip to start, the dip and the bread were both incredibly tasty. For my entree, I got the chilaquiles. {i came here about a month ago and my waiter (thank you, Wyatt!!) had recommended getting the diablo sauce on the side, so i did that this time as well.} soooo delicious. i tried a bite of my friends Tuna Melt and the Patty melt also. both were so good!! to end, we got both a warm butter cake and their carrot cake. both of them were incredible, i don't think i could pick a favorite. Attached to the Brea Improv, we came here for dinner before the show. The vibe is cozy and lively. Booths are comfortable, service is attentive. The ahi tuna stack was tasty. Not a lot of tuna but the mango relish made it refreshing. Hubby had the OC sour dough burger which was decent. I chose the Chilean sea bass special with roasted asparagus. I substituted roasted mixed veggies for the Parmesan risotto that it originally came with. At over $64, the dish was disappointing. The beurre blanc sauce had the consistency of gravy, which was quite off putting when served next to a piece of delicate fish. Part of the fish was over cooked. Today was my first time eating lunch at Reunion. I also attended an event hosted by a performer at the improv in December. The event was super fun (great cocktails!) and a complete vibe. Today lunch started with a basic salad followed up with the French dip sandwich and tater tots. My sandwich was so good--the meat was fresh and perfectly cooked. My husband loved his fish and chips. We grabbed a Saturday brunch reservation at Reunion Kitchen + Drink for a much-anticipated Girls Brunch, and it did not disappoint. We were seated right away, and it was all of our first time here. What we ordered: Chicken and Biscuits (shared): the biscuit was baked fresh to perfection, super fluffy and warm. Paired with a sausage gravy that was so delicious. The piece of chicken was a perfect size we both agreed it was super yummy. Chilaquiles Green (shared): a hint of spice, incredibly flavorful and they stayed crispy no sogginess here. Eggs over easy: came with both dishes mine were cooked perfectly. My friend's were overcooked which was a little odd but didn't ruin the vibe. California Omelet: packed with fillings and lots of avocado. It looked amazing and was enjoyed by the friend who ordered it. My only nitpick would be that the coffee drinks were as fun as the morning cocktails menu. A few coffee drink options would be a nice touch. We ordered just a regular cup of coffee. Service: Our server Cherish (if I'm remembering the name right) was absolutely amazing funny, attentive and on top of everything a girls GIRL! She talked us into dessert and encouraged us to try the Warm Butter Cake, which we did and loved. Insert me licking my fingers here--delicious and worth it. Typically I go to the one on santa ana canyon in anaheim hills. But this one was really nice as well, love with the open windows you get the fresh air. Our waitress was super sweet even though she had tons of tables she was very attentive. Food was phenomenal per usual. I didnt even venture out. I got my favorite rosemary chicken with biscuits and gravy and their fresh hash browns. I have been to Reunion Kitchen + Drink in Anaheim so I was excited to see that they opened a new location in Brea. They are located in the downtown area with a convenient public lot behind the restaurant and parking garages a block away. The area is nice to walk around at afterwards if you are looking to hang out. I came here for a business meeting because I know their food is delicious with a lot of variety to choose from for all appetizes and dietary restrictions. They have 2 entrances, but the hostess bar is only on one side of the restaurant. The windows were nice and open and they weather was nice so we decided to sit at a large booth by the windows. Oh and just to note, the restrooms are located outside of the restaurant. My colleague had the Blackened Halibut Sandwich ($29.95) with tater tots and I had the Chicken Pot Pie ($21.95). My colleague really enjoyed his sandwcih and tots. I really liked my pot pie as well. It was super creamy and rich and I appreciate that it was served with a side of vegetables as well. Yum. We also shared a Warm Butter Cake ($12.95) and asked for the ice cream on the side since my colleague is lactos, but it came with the ice cream on top. We asked for sharing plates and they only brought one. Anyways, on a brighter note, I really love the butter cake and my colleague was in agreement. Love the food and the ambiance, but there was room for improvement with the service throughout the day. Pricing is a bit above average for a lunch meal. Hopefully they improve on my future visits. We went to Reunion Kitchen + Drink to celebrate Mother's Day for my wife and daughter. My wife and I arrived before the rest of our party and were seated promptly. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel welcome and important. We ordered drinks and appetizers while waiting for the rest of our group. The spinach dip was amazing! I ordered the Double Oklahoma Smashburger and wow, was it big and delicious! My wife had the Short Rib Stroganoff which she thoroughly enjoyed. My daughter and son both had the Slow Braised Short Ribs which were also very good. The final highlight was the Hot Fudge Cake that we all loved. This place is noisy but that's to be expected as it's a pretty big restaurant and apparently very popular. It has a kind of industrial vibe and has large windows that lets in lots of light. Shane suggested fried wontons instead, and they actually paired even better than the chips would have. The place is cozy, and modern. It has a comfortable booth and a bar but not too loud - perfect for any occasion. Located in downtown Brea, parking could be hectic during busy hours. While there is no dedicated lot or street parking directly in front, there is a nearby parking structure, and depending on where you park in the structure, it might be a bit of a walk. There's some parking in the back and a parking garage close by. We ordered the following: * Double Oklahoma Smash Burger $24.95 Comes with a side of shoestring fries, slaw, or potato salad. This was good and portion was huge but nothing too special. The fries were also really salty. Also surprised there wasn't more burger options. * Beer Battered Fish and Chips $26.95 Comes with a thai peanut slaw and shoestring fries. Portion was also big and filling. The slaw was a nice side. * Butter Cake $12.95 Would order this again! Comes with vanilla bean ice cream and the raspberry puree was a great touch! First time here, I didn't know what to expect. For appetizers we got the Avocado Wontons and calamari. Crave alert!! The avocado wontons have fresh watermelon on top. This was so refreshing with a citrus kick. I will be craving this appetizer for a while!! It was mouthwatering delish! We hade the cioppino and tequila lime shrimp for dinner - um.. yuuuummmm. The food options were ok, but I can't stand biscuits so bummed that I wasn't able to sub that out, so I settled for the chilaquiles which was good. Nice decent bar size area with televisions surrounding for games, etc. We watched the Dodgers game and had a fantastic time. I had the homemade pot pie, Asian wings, and clam chowder. Stopped by my old stomping grounds for dinner with a friend & tried Reunion for the first time & food did not disappoint. The name is fitting as it truly was a reunion dinner. We got the citrus salmon salad and veggie burger with shoe string fries. The veggie burger on brioche was delicious! They also use a house made patty with only 12 ingredients. I've been to Reunion once before in Anaheim Hills a couple years ago, and was looking forward to them opening one in Brea! I'll start by saying that apparently they opened months ago, which I was surprised to hear! I was under the impression it was still under construction, and truthfully their location is awkward. We walked toward the back and on the side of the street, opened a side door that put us in the middle of the restaurant, and only then found the actual entrance. It wasn't super clear and considering they're a newer spot it might be confusing for someone who's never been. I only found out they were open through a google search ! Still aside from that the restaurant itself is nice. It's clean and has a great vibe for dates or group gatherings. Our server Kendall was awesome! She was super friendly and answered all our questions about the menu and even gave us drinks suggestions! Now I don't know what was happening at the bar, but our cocktails didn't arrive until after our food came out. Our server would check on us and check on the drinks, but it seemed to me that the bartenders were having trouble getting the drinks out. Not a big deal in the grand scheme, but we definitely saw other larger tables sat after us get their drinks way faster. Still, Kendall was attentive and made sure we were taken care of! Food and drink wise I really enjoyed my meal! Our cocktails tasted great and my fried chicken was very tasty. The sandwich my partner ordered was truthfully a little dry and bland, but it was nothing that some sauce couldn't fix. For dessert we ordered the butter cake which was good. We made reservations to eat here for my grandpas 80th bday. The reservation was easy to make and the customer service over the phone was great, I had quite a few questions regarding the reservation and it never seemed like the one I spoke to on the phone was ever annoyed, I believe her name was Yahaira. When we came in our table was all set up and our table was split between two servers Wyatt and Paula I believe were their names. Their service was great and even at the end most our party left while some of us stayed behind and we never felt rushed and we actually ended up ordering one last round and they still were happy to help us and still let us get our bottomless mimosas. Which is 20$ for just champagne and $25 to include it with juice. I don't remember most the drinks names as it was the other people in my party ordering them. The crispy Asian ribs are a must! They were soo delicious, probably the favorite food item we ordered. I only was able to picture what those who sat around me ordered since we were such a large party. The deviled eggs were not the best, they tasted like potato salad from stater bros. The French onion soup was okay. The sliders were good, probably my second favorite item prob like a 3/5. The breakfast burrito was okay but the red salsa was good, it was spicy. All the drinks were good. There is two free parking structure near the restaurant. Inside it decorated pretty, it was a little quiet though but I'm not sure if that's because we had a morning reservation. Going into trying this place for the first time, my wife and I were very excited because we had been walking past the construction and watching the progress as it was renovated for so long. We were very eager to try this place and hopefully make it a regular place to visit! But after trying it for the first time we had very mixed feelings. The restaurant itself is very beautifully renovated and has everything in place to be a trendy popular spot! The service was good too, the staff were attentive but I can't say it really stood out. They were nice but at some point it just felt like they were just turning tables. Considering we went realitively soon after the opening and early in the evening, I would have expected a bit more warm and enthusiastic. Despite that, we were still excited to get the food and I will say the presentation was very nice. And the food did look good. However, everything we ordered tasted a bit bland and it left us underwhelmed. I'd give it three stars because our overall experience wasn't bad but just left us wanting a bit more.
