Just moved to the neighborhood and got to say this is a pretty solid fish taco. Not the biggest fish taco but super fresh and made to order. Definitely would get again but don't sleep on their salsas. Red and green both equally amazing! I paid $9.00 for 2 tacos. As for the restaurant itself super clean and kept up and awesome customer service! See you guys soon and can't wait to try the restaurant itself of the menu!

Cool local spot 4 some good burritos tacos & fruit drinks some of my personal favorites are the agua fresca drinks you got to get there early they run out of the the good flavors currently drinking a pineapple one which is very good for burrito I go with the saw the burritos really good and they have one of the better crunchy fish tacos I've had definitely recommend that

I ordered the 3 tacos combo and it's supposed to come with chips and a soda and rice and beans. The chips were half filled in the little bag they provided and they do not let you pick your own salsas to go which were also tiny. Secondly worker gave us our food and forgot to give us a soda, which i had to remind him. Then he proceeded to tell us the soda machine wasn't working and told us to get a soda from the fridge. I picked out a glass bottle of soda and was about to walk out when he yelled that it's an extra charge and it has to be a can of soda instead which is not part of the combo because it should've been the fountain soda in the first place. Overall lot of up charge for the little amount of food that they give you and they didn't mention the chile was an extra charge on top of the food. I also ordered a Torta and fish tacos which didn't have a lot of ingredients for the price that they charge you. There are better options nearby that will not up charge for salsas and chiles and not cheap with the chips or ingredients. customer service was 2/5 as well.

The two chicken taco combo was delicious. The tortillas tasted homemade. The chicken was very tender. The rice and beans were cooked very well. The service was great. And the ambiance feels like you can dance because the music they are playing.

This is the spot if you want a authentic Mex food. Spicy and flavor level is perfect and customer service by far the best for restaurant around the area. Come give these guys a try.

I really wanted to like this place but it was a little disappointing. The pictures on their website and all over their restaurant looked way better than it actually looked in person. When we ordered, I was disappointed to hear that they were out of fish tacos and guacamole. They were set to close in an hour. Fish tacos appears to be their signature item though and I was looking forward to trying it. You walk up to the counter to order and they bring the food to you. We ordered: 3 Taco combo (Al Pastor, Shrimp and Chicken) Individual Tacos: Al Pastor, Shrimp and Asada The first thing I noticed was the lack of presentation. The Corn tortillas were not warm and soft. Almost as if they were quickly put together. Least favorite: Asada Shrimp- tender but lacking in flavor Al Pastor- favorite of the 3 tacos. Good flavor. Grilled. Tacos didn't have much filling. It seemed like they were trying to stretch out the meat they had since there were people still coming in even though they close at 8pm (for a Friday?) Chicken taco - not much flavor. Moist. Rice and beans - tasty Roasted Yellow Pepper- known for them. Very good. Great roasted flavor with a little sweetness. Foam plates? Maybe I wouldn't have minded if the food was amazing. For a restaurant, I would expect something more than foam plates. Definitely not worth the $$ for the food. Left still feeling hungry Not sure I would come back.

Okay. Second times a charm! The trick to this place is to make sure you ask them to cook the shrimp and fish fresh for your tacos! It makes a huge difference! Why they would sit fried food under a lamp and exspect it to taste good, is weird to me. The place is super clean, comfy and great service! My sister had the pastor, she hated it! "Wet, salty and overly spicy". The Asada is okay/good. Grew on me! It had good flavor and wasn't dry. Salsas were all good! So I will probably eat here again if I don't want to drive all the way to Taco Nazo. read more

We've been here a few times and my hubby likes it better than I do. I think they have good fish tacos but the batter is sometimes crispier than I prefer. Tacos Baja is better but this place is closer to home and less crowded. I do like their breakfast burrito too and they have tasty Agua frescas. Service is usually great and quick. read more

Update: I have to admit this is my go to spot every Tuesday for lunch. I was actually able to taste the house salsa (red & green), mild but good. I can honestly say the one thing I see that this place takes pride in, is customer service. The owner/manager should be so happy that they hired very courteous staff. Im so glad to have found this place, I will be bringing my family here. BTW, the tacos have so much meat in them, like a mini burrito A++ read more

horrible customer service wouldn't recommend at all not worth the prices and OK food. if you're looking for a place that just wants you for the money and not to have a loyal happy customer, go here. i've been going here for years now my family and friends won't spend another dollar here because of one disrespectful worker (who should be fired). and if it's the owner then this establishment deserves no more business. read more

There is this way I tell a restaurant by its crowd. For taco place, crowds of hispanic is a good sign. I was brave to take my long time, no see college friend from overseas, his whole family of 4, visiting west coast of USA, to this place. Oh man, I got to say, I was worries not to make impressions. I did with Tacos. I ordered fish & carnitas tacos and they are the best tacos I have had for a long time, since COVID-19. If you can go Tue, Taco Tue buy 2 get 1 free, great deal. My husband & I, goes almost every Tues from then on. read more

Stopped here by chance after going to Home Depot. We got a little of everything and it did not disappoint. The ceviche, nachos and fish tacos are out of this world! Great atmosphere. Food came out within 3 minutes and great customer service. Great find ! read more

Man....this was my go to spot in La Mirada because there aren't many taco spots in La Mirada....especially fish taco spots. Ordered a burrito and was told it has guac in it. Great, so I ordered it. Turned out that it did not have guac and I had to pay extra for Glock like I was at Chipotle I thought I was going to a taco shop that wasn't like the large chain restaurants, guess I was wrong. Apparently I was misinformed by the new cashier that was describing what the burrito had which is not my fault but that goes to training and the training regimen that this establishment has so I would take a look at the training schedule that these new hires go through because they should know the product and be able to describe it much better than what is seen on the picture menu maybe I'm just being selfish in that I want it described to me by the people that work there but I hate to say it if you make one mistake you're going to continue to make mistakes so this will probably be the last time I go to this place I'll just go to Taco Nazo in the habra they have better fish tacos anyways it's a little bit of a drive but the fish tacos are worth it read more

This was a nice spot to try out. The fish and shrimp tacos look and smell so good but I decided to try a burrito with one of their agua frescas! The taste of the food is something to leave you satisfied! It tastes well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I recommend this for a simple solo lunch or a group lunch! read more

Love this place! Fish taco combo always hits the spot. Shrimp cocktail and ceviche are reliably delicious. Aguas frescas are truly fresh and Mango has bits of fruit, horchata has real spices. The inside is clean and as soon as they have their liquor license, we will be dining in because it's spacious & clean. Best of all, the staff is friendly and makes you feel welcome no matter how long you take to order! read more

Placed an order for pick up at 5:30pm they said it would take 30-45 minutes. Got there at 6:15 still had to wait and didn't get food till 7:15. Very sloppy service, and didn't get order correct. They are very unorganized. They even had their manager on the floor who couldn't run things. On top of taking forever they didn't get my order right. Sad thing is I even tipped them. read more

Tasty fish tacos and ratio of fish to batter is perfect. As for how the tacos are served/plated, they need much improvement. I'd understand if it were busy but the place was empty. Tortillas overlapped to other tacos and not every tacos has enough condiments because of it. Friendly staff and clean. read more

Food is alright, nothing out of the ordinary hence the two stars but customer service is horrible. The "chef" is rude. I'm not sure if he's in charge but a young man about early 30s I spoke to was rude. I wanted to speak to him about the shrimp for the shrimp tacos I ordered. He took it a completely different direction. I meant no offense to begin with, just constructive criticism. The man with a black chef coat was extremely rude & hostile. I wanted to come back a different time & give it another try in the future but with this hostility, never again. I hope they train their staff better & improve their customer service. read more

Personally it is very good. Definitely better than most Mexican places around here. It's not a restaurant where you sit and they take your order. Service is fast and food is fresh.

I went on a taco run yesterday to try to find the best taco in Whittier…read more Started off the run with a keto taco mixed with asada and al pastor and then a regular tripa taco. Keto taco - toasted/grilled cheese instead of a regular tortilla - needed to be done a little more on one side as the cheese wasn't quite toasty enough to stay in place to slightly resemble the shape of a taco. Bit hard to eat, covered my hands in grease. Asada tastes almost boiled, and this being my 2nd or 3rd time getting the Asada here, it consistently tastes like it was boiled and not grilled. Unsure of meat quality or preparation, but there are no grill marks and it's a bit chewy. Same with the al pastor. Tripa taco was bizarre. Strips of flat skin instead of the usual roundish, cylindrical shape of tripa (intestine). Usually a saltier, fattier meat than asada, which is my preference but the one here was lacking in flavor and the texture threw me off a bit. Tripa can be chewy - unless requested extra done, which is how I normally order it - but there was no saving this tripa. I think it needs to be sliced differently, the cuts made it inedible. Brother shared some of his chorizo taco and it was the better of the bunch. Red chorizo, TJ style, although it was also lacking a teeny bit in flavor... onions and cilantro to the rescue! Still, mediocre. Salsas were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Don't think the tortillas were homemade. Service was fine, cashier takes your order, dude at the counter was chill and had a friendly attitude. Seating was limited. Mostly bar style seating but the majority was in front of a window and it had so much heat trapped from the glass that it was kind of uncomfortable. Other seats are too close to the bathroom. Good for a quick bite or just pick-up orders. Wouldn't plan a sit down/dine-in visit. Parking is scarce and has really small spots, wouldn't come if you're driving a pick-up truck or anything like that. Food was reasonably priced, which is good, however; the food was lacking so I would not return.

I also liked that they offer multiple dipping sauces for both the fries and burgers. My husband absolutely loved the fries and couldn't get enough of the chipotle sauce. I personally preferred the garlic aioli, and the creamy jalapeño sauce was surprisingly delicious as well--though a little too spicy for me to enjoy more than a taste. Despite my issue with the seasoning, I wouldn't write this place off. I have driven past Hygge Coffee countless times on my weekly drive to my daughter's practice and have always been curious about it. We finally decided it was time to stop in, and I am so glad we did. From the moment we walked inside, this place immediately felt different. It is definitely a hole in the wall type of spot, but in the absolute best way possible. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming. The soft colors, lighting, plants, wood furniture, decorations, music, and little details throughout the shop all come together perfectly. There is even a record player tucked into the seating area, which adds even more character. It feels comfortable and relaxing without trying too hard to be trendy. We ordered a vanilla latte, a yuzu tea, and a bulgogi panini. Everything was a 10/10. The vanilla latte was smooth, creamy, and had a nice balance of coffee and vanilla without being overly sweet. The yuzu tea was light, refreshing, and exactly what I wanted after an early morning hike. Then there was the bulgogi panini. This was easily the surprise of the visit. The bread was nicely toasted and crisp on the outside, while the inside was packed with flavorful bulgogi and vegetables. It was warm, savory, filling, and paired perfectly with our drinks. I honestly wasn't expecting a coffee shop sandwich to stand out this much, but I would absolutely order it again. What made the experience even better was the owner. He was extremely welcoming, down to earth, and genuinely seemed excited to have new customers discovering his shop. That kind of interaction makes such a difference, especially at a locally owned business. You can tell there is pride behind the space and the experience they are creating. The shop itself is much larger inside than I expected. There are plenty of tables, including larger tables if you are visiting with a group. Everything was extremely clean, organized, and well maintained. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing enough to sit with a coffee and read, catch up with someone, get some work done, or just enjoy breakfast without feeling rushed. Parking is also easy, with plenty of spaces available, so you don't have to deal with the parking headaches that sometimes come with smaller coffee shops. Hygge Coffee completely changed up our usual post hike breakfast routine, and I think we may have found a new favorite. Great coffee, refreshing drinks, delicious food, a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere, easy parking, and an owner who genuinely makes you feel welcome. If you've driven past this place like I had and kept telling yourself that you'll eventually stop in, do it. This is exactly the type of small, local spot that deserves to be discovered and supported. We will definitely be back.

I'm the guy that laughed at what I presume to be the boss(unbeknownst to me at the moment) after the cook refused to prioritized his order before the customers orders. "Waaa my tacos take less than two mins to make and not 20 mins" he cried. He then stormed out of the restaurant huffing and puffing, prob even more upset that I giggled at him. Shortly after he comes back in. He paces back and forward before making what I presume to be his power play against me for laughing at his tantrum. He walks behind the counter and exchanges some words with the employees about the order he was waiting on. He then decides to pick up my order(I ordered nachos in front of him so he knows it's mine) with his unsanitary hands. He holds it up close to his visage breathing his COVID germs all over it and then proceeds to hold his camera phone to it as if taking pics. At this point I'm just thinking "man I'm throwing theses nachos away and never coming back here again." As soon his he puts it down, he then asked for some gloves to put on. For what? To make his order which was already made? To help make customers orders that he doesn't prioritizes? You would think I'd ask for a refund or for another plate, but no. They can keep my money. Also props to the Cook for prioritizing his bosses customers orders first. It's what I would want as business owner my self. read more

Total Hidden Gem, wouldn't have known this place was here if it weren't for taking a wrong turn into this shopping center. Ordered the chilaquiles and added Asada to it....Holy S**t!! Mouth Bursting with Flavor. Too bad I had ordered this to go, and ate this at home. If I would have eaten there, I would have personally thanked the Cook who made this meal. My husband had the fish tacos and was also very happy with them. First time we had tried banana peppers that are grilled and placed on the plate as garnish, absolutley delicious. After driving 25 minutes, I found that all 3 burritos had pork in them. When I called back, the employee that took my order told me "that's not what you ordered," which felt dismissive and a bit frustrating. She told me to come back with the burrito but I was already too far to drive back. Afterwards, I spoke with the manager and he offered to replace the burrito when I was back in the area, which I appreciated.

We ordered some refreshing drinks, I went with the frozen strawberry margarita, which was okay, but after trying my boyfriend's mango margarita, I honestly wished I had ordered that instead. It was so good and way more flavorful! For my meal, I ordered the cheese enchilada plate, and overall it was really good. I loved the sauce, and everything came out nice and hot, which I always appreciate. We also got guacamole as an appetizer, it was decent, but probably not something I'd order again next time. Service was very attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. Overall, I'd definitely come back, especially for the drinks (next time I'm getting the mango margarita!) and the enchilada plate again.

Also the thermostat was at 83 so even if it's 100 degrees outside (which it was) 83 is too warm for guests to enjoy their food. At least put it at 75 that's somewhat more comfortable.
