Every time, my entrees arrive well-packaged with everything neatly separated and still hot. It's clear they take care in preparing orders for delivery, which I really appreciate. Recently, I stopped by to pick up my order in person, and the spot had a cute Hawaiian-inspired vibe. The staff was friendly and my order was ready on time. I really love their Chicken Hawaiian BBQ plate. The chicken is always so smoky, tender, juicy, and delicious. Each plate comes with two complimentary sides: rice, macaroni salad, and greens. Of course, this place is known for their Island Beef Ribs, which is also one of my favorites. The beef ribs are ginormous and so much fun to eat with your hands. The Chicken Katsu has been a bit hit-or-miss for me; sometimes the chicken has been a little dry with more breading than meat. But when they get it right, the chicken is juicy, the breading is nice and crispy, and it's really good. They also serve breakfast all day, which is their Spam Breakfast Plate. I had to cancel a ~$300 catering order that I placed online in early February due to a death in the family. I called a week ahead of when it was supposed to be picked up to cancel and was told I would get a refund. It is nearly April and I still haven't received a refund. I have called the Big Bros and left a message and my number at least 6 times with no response from anyone or the owner regarding a refund. Employees are always kind when they answer the phone and I explain the situation but they can't help me as this has to go through the owner according to them. I've been recommended this place a few times because it's near by and it's really hard to find good hawaiian food. My family is from hawaii so I grew up with good hawaiian food and I was excited to try this. Once arriving, we noticed the place was empty which was reasonable for it being 2pm on a Monday, everyone is probably at work. The price was little steep for our liking, my BBQ chicken came out to almost $18 while the ribs I believe came out to $20. We got the food fairly quick (within 10 minutes). Yet after that it went down hill sadly. Both plates came with a scoop of whit rice and mac salad so we tried both. The mac wasn't actually that bad at all, we enjoyed that. The BBQ chicken was EXTREMELY dry and didn't have much flavor other than charred. The ribs were also pretty dry with not much meat on the bones. We went up and asked for some sauce or teriyaki sauce for my chicken and something for the ribs maybe. The auntie upfront didn't say anything to us, just looked at a jug on the counter (not labeled or anything) and turned around and started packing a new order. We didn't know it was the house sauce so we poured some. It was like broth, idk how to describe it. Like warm water with soy sauce and other seasonings. VERY VERY bland. We poured it over our food, which soaked it up instantly. And just ate it because we didn't wanna waste our money and auntie didn't seem like she was a "refund" type of lady. We were on the hunt for some good Hawaiian food in our area while we were out and about and came across Big Bros Hawaiian Grill. We'd been to the bubble tea shop a few doors down, but never noticed this gem tucked away, granted it has been a while since we've been there. The restaurant shares the parking lot with a bunch of other shops and restaurants, so there is plenty of parking, but be very wary of inattentive people driving through. The restaurant itself is very easy to overlook because of the layout, the entrance is along the side of another restaurant, so if you weren't looking for it, you might not even realize it's there. Inside is very clean and simple. The decor just looks good...everything fits on that wall. The counter area is a little more messy, but not dirty. You really interact with it when you pick up your food, refill your water cup (jug water dispenser), or pour some of their damn good special house sauce, which is a very viscuous, sweet teriyaki flavor. Its very hot and dispenses from one of those industrial hot water/coffee dispensers. Ordering and paying for your food is handled at the kiosk, just make sure you read the little note card to understand the sides. The pricing of the food isnt too bad, most dishes being $10-20. We opted for their Hawaiian BBQ Chicken and their Hawaiian Pork BBQ, as my wife was craving something teriyaki. I mean geez, these plates are loaded...and they're the to-go plates. Normally other places skimp...but these were heavy. The chicken had good flavor, and complimented well with the sauce. My wife thought there was too much mayo, but i thought it was just right. The pork bbq though.....very, very juicy, not dry or oily like a lot of other places. Let ot soak up the special house sauce.....mouthgasm. I catered from this place two weeks ago and they made the whole process easy. They got my order correct, were able to add on some half trays a couple of hours before I showed up, and were very friendly. I ordered for about 60 people and they were spot on with the recommended amount of food I would need. I ordered whole trays of white rice, macroni salad, kolgi beef ribs, and hawaiiain bbq chicken. To play it safe, I ended up ordering half trays of chicken katsu and the other meats I previously mentioned, but honestly was good with the original order. Idk if it was just because I ordered in and he ordered take out but I found it peculiar. Moving on. I sat down and got my food within a matter of minutes. The interior was quiet and clean.
