I called to place a pick up order (a couple Saturday''s ago) 10:40pm they close at 1am and the girl checked to make sure it was ok to still order..so I'm guessing they stop taking orders at midnight?! I ordered the Kailua Pork Tacos as she highly suggested these over me asking her what her thoughts were on the Pork or Chicken Tacos.. I asked for pick de gallo and chips..She told me they don't serve Pico De Gallo even though I told her I saw it listed on the menu and served on other items, that they had a different salsa..Unfortunately when I picked up and tipped $5 & some change... I arrived home and had no salsa with my chips and no cheese on the tacos I then wished I would of order one of the others since they had cilantro and onions etc. I called and left a voicemail hopefully will receive a call back.. The tacos were definitely SALTY with no toppings or cheese also they were very soggy literally no crisp at all but the pork was good and the tiny little fruit salsa served with it was amazing! Definitely very friendly and nice atmosphere just unfortunately not what I paid for and upsetting to pay $21 for two soggy tacos with no toppings and no salsa with the chips! A great tiki bar to meet friends for drinks. The clientele is very fountain square: Hipster, eclectic, young. We met with friends from work in a group of 6 and it was pretty clear the place was stretched for staff, but our waitress couldn't have been nicer and was working very hard. Food took about an hour to arrive and was tasty. Tacos come in twos and most people at our table ordered four. We also had an order of chips and guacamole. If you're not afraid of calories, the poutine was killer - I mean, what's not to love about cheese, beans, guac and fries? Drinks are strong so be sure you have a driving plan the fruity, tiki drinks come in fun glasses that would look great in pictures with friends. The vibe is very casual- picnic tables and patio furniture. Parking is... well.. city parking. I'm rarely one to write a bad review, but this one I found myself needing to wait until the next day to calm my anger. A group of 8 ladies planned to eat/drink at Revolucion. Two of us arrived first and secured the tables as the others were in route. Our server began to take orders when a man approached us stating we'd have to do one bill with an automatic 20% gratuity. I understand we are in times of digital payment, but we wanted the opportunity to pay our own bills. Not only that, his presentation was downright rude. As we text the other moms to indicate plans changed, he then stated we needed to clear the table for others. We looked around with nobody in sight awaiting the table but got up quickly with no intent to ever return. We are living in a pandemic with many restaurants closed or near closing and we were excited to support local. I was appalled at the service received. I was excited to sit at a bar seat with my friend on her birthday. we came in with a large crowd, which might have overwhelmed the bartender, but most of the group moved outside to tables. A few of us lingered, not necessarily wanting a table but to order drinks, and we were turned away. We were refused service. There were bar stools, two people sat at the other end and were served. We went outside to join friends. A little later one of us went back to get a drink for his wife, whose birthday we were celebrating. Even going back to the bar top by himself, he was not allowed to order a single drink. What kind bar (with almost empty barstools) does that? One of us got their drink by ordering from the table, waiting 25 min for a single drink. Will not be returning. read more

Full transparency: I'm writing this review about a month after I stopped in. This was my first visit to Revolucion. I had heard some pretty good things about it so bae and I decided to drop in for some tacos on a Tuesday before heading to a show. First of all - I'm not sure if the AC was out that day but it was HOTTTT in there. The restaurant was decorated super cute - but the temp was out of control, which definitely dampened our experience and knocked one star off. We both felt like there should have been some sort of signage on the door warning customers of the temp inside the building. The waitress was kind and helpful. Bae got some craft beer but my drink was soooo good! I got a marg and it was great. The tacos were just ok. A little dry. I got the shrimp and bae got steak and both were very underwhelming. Probably wouldn't go back for food but -- if the temperature is right I'd go for drinks every night! read more

I can't think of any other restaurant I've been to lately that my rating could range so widely. It all boils down to why you are dining out. Do you like trying new places? hot spots? good food, strong drinks, excellent atmosphere and service? Does there need to be loud music, or quiet spaces where you can carry on conversations with friends? So, if you are looking for good food and good drinks, decent service and something a little quirky, I suggest giving Revolution a try. This rating is based upon our first visit with friends that we frequently dine out with. After driving around trying to find some parking without time limits and towing warnings, we lucked into a spot that opened just in front of the entrance. It was a warm/hot evening and we were surprised we couldn't dine inside in the a/c, but had to head back through the bar to through the double doors hat lead to the Tiki patio in the rear where it was hot and humid. Though we asked about dining inside, we were told that inside seating was only available if it was raining. Seemed odd. I realized they had a small staff and would have trouble covering both the indoor and outdoor customers, so we were gateful when the sun went down and it became more pleasant to sit outside. There is no direct way to the patio, so we were up and down and walking around numerous tables and doorways to get to our table. Turns out that even with wait staff, the table drinking water is still self-serve which I found odd. The wait to place our beverage orders was not too long and though there was the lone bartender on the patio, she seemed to keep up pretty well. Background music was light so we could hear he music, but still carry on our conversation uninterrupted. I went with the unusually named Lardy Laddle double smash burger since I was hungry. Quite good, but nothing that was outstanding or so challenging that I couldn't make it at home. The other three in our group all went with Burritos, one pork, one chicken, and one Teriyaki chicken with pineapple bits for a Hawaiian influence. All seemed pleased with their choices and portion sizes (Large) One negative for me was that a neighborhood cat was stopping by many of the tables while we were dining and it looked dirty and needing some care. While sympathetic to its thirst and hunger, I didn't feel the staff should be encouraging it during the dinner course. Surely some health code must regulate this sort of thing. Fortunately, the feline stayed down and didn't get on the tables. It was just an unusual experience that may upset some diners. I will summarize by saying the food was good, the drinks were generous and the staff friendly even if not ambitiously focused on the customers. The place is looking a bit run down and if the owners can spruce the place up and eliminate some of the weird and unusual rules, this could be a nice place to give a higher recommendation to. You want authentic Mexican food? This is your spot, Indy. The tacos are so good they don't even need toppings. Go for the carnitas - you won't be sorry. And the margaritas? Top rate. They won't make you feel sick or bogged down with sugar. They're fresh and have a great taste. The atmosphere is really fun. They have some cool murals and there's a tiki bar in the back. There are several vegetarian options, which is a plus. Our Nachos were a nice late night snack, perfect for sharing. Cannot believe the first 2 times here I did not know about the cool patio out back. The front room is colorful and vibrant. The drinks here are very good and the staff really works at keeping the customers happy. I like the nacho platter here with a Margarita. I usually just come here to drink, but I sometimes also get the nacho platter. The patio out back is nice in the summer and the seating is relaxing. I first went there on Saturday June 19th with my friend only for drinks. We thought the front was closed, kept walking in the back of restaurant where it was like a secret hideaway, the Mexican decor, the colorful artwork, and the bar in the back blew me away. It was a nice humid day on Saturday June 19th where my friend & I sat on the patio. Patio is like a Tiki low-key hideaway, and accessing the restaurant there are no stairs. Yet there's a small ramp in the back bar area. The drinks I had on June 19th were the Saturn, Zombie, and their strongest drink is the Scorpion bowl. The Scorpion bowl is enough for 2-3 ppl to share cost I believe $25. The Saturn drink was okay, and Zombie drink was good with a fire lit on top of drink. I didn't have any food that day. Then, I went back there on Saturday July 17th that night where I had one drink Cadillac Margarita. I love that low-key feel, the beautiful bold Mexican artwork, the bartender, and Servers are all good ppl, and the vibes of that place is so good actually way better than good. I highly recommend you to checkout the restaurant for a date night, meetup for drinks, or just want to get out. I'll be back to try the food. read more

Revolucion is a solid place to grab tacos before the major influx of taco places in town! It's a great location with respect to the center of fountain Square. I have enjoyed tacos there, but haven't explored the menu much. Now...for the best part...in the evening...when the weather's good, mosey on past the bathrooms and up the ramp... That's where EVERYTHING changes. You are magically whisked away to a tropical island with fruity cold beverages, open fires, outdoor seating and tiki decorations! The tiki bar can get crowded as it's not very large, especially if the weather requires that the outdoor part is closed. You can order food from the Tiki bar including chips and dips, tacos, burgers and mexican poutine (yum!) the perfect snacks to accompany some of the best Tiki drinks around! This place had a great vibe to it. Me and my friends came here before a concert at the Hi-Fi. Once you enter, it's pretty dark and moody, but then it leads into the bar and patio area, which is huge! Did not expect it to be as large as it was. There was a tiki theme fully decked out in all beach stuff. The drink menu had a lot of inspired tropical drinks to make you really feel like you're somewhere tropical. The food menu had a good selection of different tacos and chip and dip options. They also had a lot of burger options with fries. The only thing I wish you could do it mix and match tacos. Each taco order came with 2 tacos but you can't get 2 different kinds. They are a little pricey too, in my opinion. I ordered the pork tacos, which were dry. My friend had shrimp and we split. The shrimp tacos were great! Highly recommend those over pork. The servers were nice but the service was a little on the slow side. Also, our waiter didn't inform us that napkins and other sauces were at a station near the bar, which would have been nice to know. We didn't even realize until we were halfway done. This is my favorite place in town! The food is great and unique. Full disclosure I'm a vegetarian, so I've only had the black bean burgers, which are amazing, but potato and veggie tacos are both phenomenal and all apps are vegetarian (and also amazing). The bean dip is my favorite food on the menu, and for something you can't really get anywhere else, try the patatas bravas. That was the first thing I ever got here and I was hooked! Now let's get to the drinks. The margaritas are the best in town, if you ask me, but I haven't even mentioned how there's a secret tiki bar in the back! I've tried everything on the tiki menu and let me just say, they do not disappoint. Every drink is "my new favorite" and the bartenders, Eric and Niki always know what I like, suggesting delicious new drinks every time. Sometimes before I'm even sitting down, there is a beer waiting for me. I cannot stress enough how great this place is. Go for the margaritas, but stay for the unique tiki atmosphere in the back! But on the other hand- don't be an asshole. Realize that typically there are only two or three people working either bar. Be patient. The flaming drinks are extremely worth the wait. If you're nice they will learn your preferences and make you custom drinks. In the summer, they open the patio for a fire pit and full service, extensive bar! In the winter, they turn the heaters on hard and play tiki music so you can feel like you're in a cooler place than Indy. read more

I take a picture of my cute cocktail every time i go! Im not exactly sure what warrants such high menu prices, but Revolucion is definitely pricey for "what you get" compared to nearby places. I get Bakersfield is obviously around the same price, but Bakersfield is right on mass ave (high rent) and bakers has higher quality of ingredients. Tacos at Revolucion are good, chips are good, cocktails are tasty and service is always good. I've never had a bad time here. I've always gotten great service and warm food. My one complain would be the prices. Besides that, i think this is a cool little spot in fountain square. If you're looking for a fun night/atmosphere this might be your spot, but if you're looking for good tacos, stay away. My husband and I went here one evening pretty late. There was no hostess to greet us (no problem), so we found one and asked what our seating options were. She told us we could stand at the "communal" table or wait until seats opened at the bar. We started at the table and then were able to get bar seats. The servers weren't all that friendly but weren't terrible. The queso dip was super basic, as were the margaritas. We had a number of tacos. The steak was the best, the shrimp was pretty terrible (tiny shrimp), hardly any flavor, and the fish ones were super dry. However, the chicken was the absolute worst. Imagine someone just putting unseasoned dry shredded crockpot chicken in a tortilla with a lime on the side. I was shocked that they actually had the audacity to serve this basic chicken to customers and was extremely disappointed. If I'm honest, these were overall probably the worst tacos I've ever had. Do NOT like how plain the tacos look, the lack of presentation alone (especially compared to the fabulous nacho display) makes me shy away from them. I feel I get such a better deal with the nachos than with the puny looking tacos, so much so that I haven't even tried them. One more gripe... getting a little extra guacamole will set you back about 6 bucks. apparently there is not a side order of guac, so they charge for a full order of guac and chips... Their house tequila is surprisingly good for the price. we had some chips, salsa and guac. This was my second time here and it was for a party so I was impressed with the service with a large group here. However, I was blown away at the prices of the drinks - sure they are handcrafted and very cool with all the fixings and dazzle but definitely not the most cost effective if you're trying to grab several drinks with friends. I will say that my drink was quite tasty but very sweet nonetheless. The tacos are average size so two or three could easily fill me up but again, a little pricey. Revolucion is by far the most colorful place in Indy to imbibe and dine in Indy. The walls are chalk full of lucha libre mask and Day of the Dead-esque paintings. The tiki bar (half outside/half inside) is like a trip to the beach without the sand. It's always a packed place on warm summer days. The shrimp taco is my all-time favorite. It's got a bit of kick to it, but it's cooled down with some mango salsa on the side. You get two for $7.95. I also like the steak and pork tacos. I hear the veggie is good also from the non-meat crowd. On my most recent visit (yesterday) my friend had the Lardy Laddie burger. It was so much burger that he didn't finish all of it. I don't eat burgers, but it looked nice and juicy with a better than average bun (like a pretzel bun?? maybe). I do however love fries. They are absolutely homemade, with the skin still on. Perfection. Thick cut, not overcooked and generously salted is how I like them. The homemade salsas make Revolucion unique. I like the Money Shot... a white salsa with a medium kick. It's fun to try new ones each visit. Love tequila? This place has a ridiculous amount of the stuff. No, really the list is super, super long. Sometimes they will have $2 tequila shot specials. My two complaints.... 1. Service is ALWAYS a little slow. I don't think it's the staff. Probably a kitchen issue. 2. You cannot mix and match tacos. I've been told it's due to the kitchen being to small. Hence my guess above. A great place to bring people from out of town for a drink and quick bit if checking out Fountain Square. Also, much larger space than it's competitor in FS, La Margarita, so your chances of waiting to be seated are much slimmer. (I've never had to wait.... other than for space outside). If you want to sit outside, their patio area is great. It makes you feel like you're not in Indiana and are somewhere near the beach at a tiki hut. Their steak tacos were delicious and their fries for appetizer an appetizer were too. If you are from the Midwest bring your own ranch. They do have ketchup and a nice variety of hot sauces too. I'm a fan! We camped out at the back "tiki bar" in the back which felt a little hokey (and made me a bit confused with the theme), but the tacos were the bees knees). I came with a friend we split two orders of tacos (two tacos per order) so that we could try both the shrimp tacos and the pork tacos (which sadly I didn't manage to take a picture of). I would definitely recommend asking your server for their different sauces. Without them, the tacos seemed a little lacking. With them, they were packed full of flavor. Try them all! Mix and match them! You won't be disappointed. The service was great and super attentive. I was also pretty impressed that we were able to quickly get food during peak dinner hours on a Saturday. All in all, it wasn't the best taco joint I've been to, but it was some solid grub and I would definitely come back if I was in the mood for some tacos in the Fountain Square area! read more

Came here for the new grad mixer at Salesforce. Hawaiian themed space. The outside is specially nice. The cocktails here all taste really good but definitely not with so much alcohol in them. The food here is more average. Love the nacho. But other food like quesadilla tacos and fried are just okay. Service a little slow for sure. But love the vibe. read more
