The food was amazing no doubt. The restaurant is a small hole in the wall around a lot of auto shops. There's parking available. The kebabs were flavorful and the tahdig and the stew were delicious. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken and koobideh combo. The rice was perfectly fluffy. We weren't able to finish the food so we took it home. But come dinner time and ready to eat our leftovers, we see that a few pieces of the chicken were undercooked. Not a big deal, threw it in a pan to cook it a little more. But we were afraid that the chicken that we did eat at the restaurant might have been undercooked too and we just didn't happen to notice it. Don't get me wrong, I would definitely come back and eat here but I just hope that they make sure that the chicken they serve is cooked enough. read more

Reyhan Restaurant was introduced to my co-workers and I by a charming man and his family. Between the rice, koobideh, and chicken I was full for hours!! We loved how tasty and seasoned the food was...so much so, we took extras to eat at home. This was some of the best Persian food I've tasted. Next time I'll be stopping by the restaurant for more delicious selections. If your not a fan of Persian food, I would recommend giving Reyhan a chance. My two best friends and I have been coming here for a couple of years now. We've tried a couple of other Persian restaurants but this hole-in-the-wall is by far the best we've had. The food tastes home made and full of flavor, and the portions are huge. Tonight my best friend choked on her food. She lost all of the color in face and the whole restaurant was watching and trying to help. The owner came out and helped get the food out of her airway and then comforted her and all of us. The whole ordeal was rather traumatic. I appreciate her generosity and genuine heart so much. She brought us out sweets and tea and calmed us all down. Definitely check this place out. I've been a customer and a huge fan of food of this place for a very long time now. Having said that, the food is wonderful and is one of my most favorites in the area, I used them every time I had dinner gatherings at home and my guest would enjoy the food every time. I have recommended them to many people and my family started ordering for them for their parties as well. It is very hard to give low starts to a place that you like the food but unfortunately, the horrible attitude, bad service, dishonest and unprofessional owner made it so bad this last time that I will never be going back there again or even order food from them.Every time in the past that I got this attitude from her I told myself it's ok, she might be tired or had a bad day but enough is enough. I really don't understand how she thinks it's ok for her to be like this all the time. If you can't handle people or don't know how to have a good customer service, I would suggest staying in the back and don't deal with customers, have someone's else with a good and happy personality to do that for you. always mad and rude. I would love to give this place a 5 stars, but the location where it's located doesn't give me that warm fuzzy feeling. It's in the middle of industrial part of San Jose, sorta sketchy - zombie apocalypse environment. BUT usually this kind of places, serve BEST food. If you are adventurous and want to eat some Persian food then this is the place for you. Pro Food: A great place to try Persian food. The food here is subtle but really good. The meat portion is great with the accompaniment of rice and chicken. Price: The amount of food and quality of food here really adds up to the price your paying for. Most of the food you get feeds up to 2-3 people so its great for sharing in a small group. Service: The people here are pretty friendly and want to assist you in whatever you need. Cons Parking: The parking lot is very limited and its small so parking can be difficult. Small: Its literally a whole in the wall. The place is extremely small like a small dining room. They only seat a couple of tables. Location: The place is virtually hidden from plain sight. It can be hard to track down at fist because you would never expect to find a hotel at that certain location. Overall Reyhan Persian Restaurant is a great place to come try some good Persian food. Feeling ripped off after prices in online menu (both on Yelp and their website) were notably less than what I was charged.

Their meats are pretty good (although a bit greasy) and a lot of their plates are family style. We ordered some combination plate that was about $33, and it feeds 2-3 people (stuffs 2 people, feeds 3 people fairly enough). The dining room is small, with a lot of large mirrors that make the place appear larger. The decor inside is quite nice for a place that looks like a dump from outside. The staff is friendly and they seem to have a lot of regulars coming in who are treated like family. This was definitely an interesting find if you need a new and different place to eat. Parking is limited... don't park at the shop next door unless you plan on having your car blocked in (happened to a friend who met with us there). read more

I look at the coupon and the date said that we purchased it in July........lol? Also, it says "no expiration date." Well, I guess there is. The waitress gave us a complimentary eggplant appetizer which made up for it...somewhat. Anyways, we decided to stay and order because of the good reviews on yelp. My family got the chicken and ground beef Koobideh, the filet mignon kabob, and lamb kabob. The ground beef Koobideh was probably the best. The filet mignon was not as tender as filet mignon's supposed to be. The lamb kabob was pretty good but very gamey. The chicken was tough and overcooked. I agree with the majority of the Yelp reviewers: VERY GREASY. The rice and meat are drenched in butter/oil. Also, the parking lot is smaller than the second story in my house. If it's even somewhat busy, good luck finding parking. Oh, and there was a little yappy dog (I guess one of the owner's) outside that kept barking the entire time we were there. This is by far the best place I've been to in the Bay Area. I wish I had taken photos before leaving, but it looked and smelled so good that I literally dug right in. I got the Koobideh, and it was so fantastic. It was nice, flavorful, and plentiful! Normally I wouldn't have been able to eat two kabob on my own, but it was so good I couldn't fathom trying to reheat it later on! The stews are also to die for! The geymeh was out of this world! I actually almost wished I had just gotten that, but had I done that, I'd have never known how good the kabob was!! I think my favorite part of the experience was the fact that the owner and her family ate their dinner there as well. I could see the same things on their plates as we had on ours. Also it was a little chilly and she moved a heater away from her and her family over to us in the event that we were cold. It wasn't necessary, but it was the sweetest, most selfless thing I've ever seen at a restaurant. You really feel right at home. I have no problem traveling the 20 miles it takes to get there. Today, on Valentine's Day 2011, we did. Yippee! Yes, the neighborhood is more than a little industrial and there is a medicinal marijuana dispensary right next door, but environs aside, this place is a gem! I had the special, I have no idea the name, but it was green beans and meat cooked in a tomato saffron sauce served mixed with basmati rice. Sigh. Generous portion. I could only eat half and now I have yummy lunch leftovers for tomorrow. My husband had the koobideh lavash wrap and was more than pleased. The food here is exceptional! Now when you drive up, its a small ghetto parking lot, but when you go inside the restaurant its inviting and cozy. Service is awesome as you don't even have to sit there and wait or ask for something, they approach you offering things or re filling your drink. The meals start out with the healthy warm lentil soup. The chicken Kabob's are simply divine along with the yogurt and mint dips and thin pita bread. They are quick on to go orders. This place is not bad but definitely I had much better Kabobbs. We had the Kubideh and chicken Kabob combo. The Kubideh was OK but lack any special flavor and spice. The rice was bland and lacked flavor all in all this has the basic of a good meal but the flavor is just not there. I have been trying all Kabob places through the years and there are some places I definitely go back to, this one will not be in the list of must visit. Only if I happen to be in the area. The one good Kabob place I know is far away so I am desperate to find something closer but sadly keep looking and have not found a suitable replacement yet. Not much of an ambience but the food is great. Service can be slow at times when it's crowded but has never been too much of a problem. We all get the same thing always ...the chicken n koobideh combination plate. It's the best in Bay Area. Rice is always perfectly cooked.
