I'd been doing street parking for most of two years and then left town for a month, then came back to try and drive all the way from LA to the Bay and my back tire completely disintegrated around Valencia, so I came here hoping to get a replacement at 3pm with a VW car (that has less than common parts). Everyone was super helpful and friendly! They didn't have the specific tire size for my car, but gave me the choice of one that was just about and I took it. RG Brakes and Alignment has incredible service that was professional and fast. The workers were helpful in answering my questions over the phone and in person. They were honest and up front with the cost of things and what service my car actually needed. They performed the service with high quality and I get that they genuinely had my best interest in mind as the customer. I got an alignment and new tires from them. They provide free tire rotation for putting on your tires! 10/10 would recommend taking your car here! On a second time, I brought my car in to get new brakes. I called the day of and I just wanted to get my car looked at cause I heard a sound my car was making. I didn't even have an appointment but they were willing to see my car. As soon as I drove onto the property, the mechanic already knew what was wrong. The service was fast and efficient. They offered to fix my car right away even though I just requested an inspection! Bringing my car in for alignment, I found RG to be very thorough. They went over the computerized readout with me, but they were not satisfied with the results and decided to redo the alignment. But what impressed me most was that they explained to me the limitations of what they were able to do-- that it might not fix my premature tire wear problem. Not just do some work and send you on your way: they want you to understand the results. The price was very reasonable. The downside is that the parking along that line of shops is awful. read more

I've been going to RG brakes for over 20 years now. Ever since the original owner Rick sold the business it has gone downhill. They tell you that you need things that you really don't. They said I needed new brake pads. I pulled the tires off myself and I still had over half of the pads left. I use to be able to bring my vehicle in for a tire rotation and it would take about 20 minutes. Now they want you to drop it off and leave it, come on it's just a tire rotation on tires that I purchased from them. I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Horrible service! I went last week because I needed 3 things done: oil change, clean the engine, and check the AC because it wasn't working. I arrived at 11 am. Left my car and they called me at 2pm to tell me if I wanted to fix the leaking with a new valve cover gasket and change the spark plugs. So I said yes I needed that work done. And they were going to call me when it was ready! Hours passed by and the manager never called back to let me know when it would be ready! I went there and everything was closed! That's UNACCEPTABLE! Causing me to being ubering that night. The next day they sent me a message saying the car is now ready to pick up. I went in there and the manager was there. I asked her what happened that why didn't they call me or let me know the day before about my car. The ONLY thing she said was "what do you mean work like usually takes time and not the same day" and I said "you didn't even call me" again and SHE SAID "I'm sorry about that, I was in a meeting yesterday" and that's it. WHO CARES if you had a meeting, you needed to do your job! Not even trying to offer a good service but just getting out of the situation. Usually oil change, spark plugs, and change the valve gasket DON'T TAKE THAT LONG. You can have it done in a couple HOURS Max! If that wasn't enough, after being charged. I saw my invoice and there was nothing about the AC problem I needed too. I asked if they also fixed my AC and she said "what about it, we didn't know" when that was one of the main reason I went there for! I repeated twice to the receptionist, oil change, clean engine and check AC. And she just told me "they didn't know" and that if I wanted them to check I would have to leave my car that day which was Saturday and pick it up on Monday! Again she wasn't resolving anything, she didn't care about doing HER job! Especially when she's the manager that even when we call to complain later on she hung up on us over the phone because she didn't want to deal with that. I will never return to that place! read more

I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone. The mechanics took my front end apart to re-build it and then couldn't find the parts to do the job. After keeping my truck for a week I was then asked to purchase the parts online, to bring them in and they would install them but not warranty the job. I never heard of such a thing! Poor management and complete lack of communication! Also while my truck was in their possession, someone stood on and dented my hood! They denied it of course! Thanks R & G for doubling my costs!!! And by the way took my truck to a real shop down the street. They had it repaired and back to me that same day. read more

Called and gave my EXACT year/make/model. Requested a quote for front brakes pads and rotors. They quoted me $350 for the least expensive products so I made an appointment. After paying the $45 dollar inspection fee they told me it was $550 for brakes pads and rotors. I asked what product I can get from my $350 quote and she said nothing. That's what they start at for a "Toyota Corolla or similar" so why not tell me brakes start at $550 for a Lexus like I originally asked? Didn't give them the business, Seemed shady. I went to bouquet auto and paid $390 for all new brakes and rotors and did them myself. Instead of paying $1200 that they quoted for all 4. $800 profit for 30ish minutes of work is a little high IMO read more

They got straight to my promble they fix it next thing went to get my smoke test with out any promblem after thier repair. Once I was thier found out that they have tire. We were quoted by the lady working $297 for rear roter resurface and rear brake pads. My husband went ahead and had the work done. When he went to pay all of a sudden price is $430?! When he asked for the total for service we expected it to be the total, how do you not include the cost of parts in the total price to a customer and make no mention that parts were not included in that price?! I have NEVER been quoted for brakes or any car repair without the cost of parts being included in the price, if it's not included say that. They waited till the car was done to add to the price, terrible way to run a business. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

My transmission went out and I had my truck towed here. New owner and counter service people. I was told a rebuilt trans was $2850. I thought meh, ok. I asked for the timing belt be serviced also. I never got a total estimate quote (maybe my fault). Total after all was done was $6500 . I was mad, but the work was already done. I've been going there for 15 years. No longer will. I took my car to RG Brake & Alignment completely unaware of what was going on with my car other than the fact that I knew I needed brakes. The mechanics at the shop were so polite and helpful. They explained to me that I needed my wheel Barron fixed immediately as it was a safety hazard, they also fixed my breaks and helped me out with some lighting issues. I'm my own mechanic however I don't have an alignment rack, certain machine press tools or AC evac and diagnosis tools. RG brake is my place to go for these needs. They are way cheaper than the dealer for alignments. They did great press work for me on my control arms and ball joints. They also found what was wrong with my AC system so I was able to fix that myself. I plan to use them all the time for something I can't do myself. The date of this review is 09/29/2015. Today, I took my BMW 328 to service my brakes and tire rotation at RG Brakes and Alignment. Guillermo called me, an hour later, to advise that the rotor brakes need to be replaced in addition to the break pads. He gave me a quote and I approved it. They called me in the afternoon to let me know that they have completed the work on my brakes. I tested the brakes by driving around and I was very pleased with their work. Took my vehicle in to have my brakes serviced as I noticed they were starting to squeal intermittently. After it was test driven, tires removed to inspect my brake pads and rotors it was found that my brakes did not need attention (rear near perfect and front greater than 25). As others have noted it is not easy finding an auto repair shop that you can trust. This was my first time here and these guys did a great job on repairing my Dodge Ram 2500 Ex Cab Diesel 4X4. They were pleasant and easy to talk to and even provided me with a ride home. The Brakes were replaced both front and rear including front rotors (I knew were metal to metal). They also advised me of both rear axle seals were leaking which I knew but had forgot to repair, so I had them replaced as well. It was a Saturday and they told me they could complete the work that day and even worked a little after hours to complete it so I was not stranded over the weekend without my vehicle. read more

Great service and great work! This morning we were heading to San Jose from Anaheim, in our newly purchased F250. We realized along the drive that the truck was bouncing around more than it should, at high speeds. We Yelped a local tire place and found RG's, nearby, with good reviews. We pulled up, and talked to the owner who looked at the truck quickly. The tires were severely unbalanced, as we expected. Tomas got to working on the tires and balancing them right away. Both the owner and Tomas were very friendly and helpful, explaining exactly how they were balancing the tires and why. And, we were in and out of there in 45 min, and back on the road! After a little bit of driving, the truck is doing great with smooth sailing! Glad we found this place on a whim, they were exactly what we needed. read more
