We both ordered off the menu, rather than making our own salad / bowl. I had the Vietnamese bowl - chicken, quinoa, cabbage, cucumber and carrots, with a vaguely Asian dressing. My fiancé had the Caesar salad with chicken, and while it bore little resemblance to a Caesar salad, he enjoyed it. I then had the southwestern burger, which is always a favorite of mine because of the green chilis. The burgers are always cooked nicely (I order medium) and I was able to substitute a side salad, which was easily one of the best side salads I've ever had at a brewery. The location was perfect for us because we were able to easily walk there from our hotel. We were lucky enough to get outdoor seating, which made the experience even better. It was great to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Durango weather, and people watch while having dinner. We decided to do a beer flight so we could sample a variety of their beers before committing to a full pint. It was a great way to try different styles, and we each ended up finding a favorite. Everything we tried was really good. My husband liked their Buffalo wings and whiskey burger, I enjoyed the seared tuna bowl, and our kids liked their pizza. It is definitely a busy and popular spot, especially during peak vacation times, so I would recommend putting your name in early and expecting there could be a wait. In our opinion it was worth it. Steamworks had a great casual vibe that worked well for both families and adults wanting to enjoy a brewery experience. The downtown location adds to the charm, and it definitely felt like one of those must visit spots while in Durango.

However, for a fine dining restaurant where both the food and drinks come at premium prices, the service fell well short of expectations. Great meals can make for a memorable evening, but attentive service is an important part of the fine dining experience, and unfortunately that was missing during our visit.

Well, my version of freezing. Finally the buzzer went off and my sister picked up my order. We all shared the Cajun fries because the portion was definitely shareable and they were so good. The filet slider really impressed me! The blue cheese and caramelized onions were the perfect touch. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Durango!

I've had this dish before & it's always been grest, however tonight there were several areas on the filet pieces that were raw. (I just ate the cooked steak.) Typically I would have requested new sliders but I was in a hurry. I also had a side of their regular house cut fries which were delicious...nice & crispy. It was a huge portion. Counter service wasn't up to par either, not particularly friendly. I'm hoping this was just a one-off. I will try them again in hopes this was the case, since this has been my go-to place in Durango.
