Stopped in for lunch while traveling through Ocean Springs. Saw mixed reviews but decided to give it a try. I ordered the Rio Grande plate, which was a sampling of pork ribs, brisket taco, brisket empanada and sides. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, but lacked flavor and served room temperature. The taco was tough, cold and I only got one bite in that I couldn't chew through. The empanada had great texture but was greasy and once again, room temperature. In fact, the only thing on my plate served hot were the beans, which were fantastic, sweet and smoky. My wife's baked potato came piping hot and I sampled the turkey which was really good and tender. The service was adequate, stood at the host stand for an awkward minute or two before being greeted. Our server was nice but not overly attentive or friendly. Seemed to be fairly clean and well kept in the dining room and bar area. May come back and try it again, but wouldn't go out of my way based on this experience. read more

I had ribs, chicken breast and brisket with mac-n-cheese and baked beans. She had turkey breast, brisket and fried catfish with mac-n-cheese and fried okra. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. The brisket and chicken breast were tender and had a good smoky flavor. My wife said the same for her turkey and brisket and the catfish was nicely fried and good as well. I ordered takeout. The service was fast and the food came out hot and perfect. The wings were the Nashville hot which was perfect once you eat it right away, which I enjoyed!!! Well everything was fresh and looked and smelled great. THE PLEASANTRIES END THERE!!!! My wings were ok, maybe a 3. Nothing to write home about though. I visited this restaurant on a Saturday at lunch time with my Mother and son. It is a new place and is clean and very nice. There are TVs on the walls and overhead music (which isn't too loud, but could be a little lower). We were seated immediately and served quickly. The food came out fast. I added pictures of our food. Each of us were full and satisfied. Mom took home left overs. We will certainly be returning to try other items on the menu. read more

I am putting 4 stars bc the experience was not so great this time. Food was excellent as always. I came in to eat with my 5 year old son and it was not busy at all and I waited about 8 minutes to be seated. There was an employee that saw me waiting to be seated but she just stood there. Then when the girl came, she sat me and my son on the bar side which usually I don't mind but there was a group of people drinking and being loud and my son didn't like it. Server was OK. Wasn't really friendly until I was ready to pay. I still gave her a pretty good tip was half of the bill. I like the food here so I'm going to give it one more chance to drive out this way to eat. Visiting Ocean Springs and this was recommended by friends.. we were warmly greeted and seated.. got a lunch menu..first ordered were onion rings.. delicious and plenty to share. I ordered cob salad and 2 "wet" ribs off the lunch menu, huge salad and the ribs were sweet and tender just perfect.. my hubby had a 3 rib basket with 2 sides.. loved it! The 4 is for service, lovely lady waited on us, and announced she was "new" and then we seemed to coach her and be understanding through out the meal. He came up to our table and asked if our drink order was taken already and he was really uncomfortably assertive. We have not be there at Rib Crib in a long time, but today we want to try it again. First the place add no air conditioner was not working they had fans going but still it was a little warm but there was no sign on the door as you came in saying they had no air conditioner, we order the dirty deed, the potato salad was ok , the cowboy beans were very good, but the fried okra was hard as a brick like it was left over from lunch under a hot lamp and nothing was hot when it got to our table the rib was tough. I ask for extra lemon but she forgot it and then I had to ask for again, when she brought out our plates there no bread we had to ask her about that, my husband had to without tea for about 15 mins before she can back to check on us. Now I see why we have not been back the food is bad and the service is not good , after tonight we will not go back and we will let our friends know go somewhere else to eat besides this place , and the rib like they boil them and then put them on grill to get that smoke flavor. I see now why the parking lot has not been full. They need a upgrade this place and they need new waitress . read more

The food was lacking FLAVOR. A little seasoning would have helped the veggies, but all the water in the gulf couldn't help that dry brisket or pulled pork. The restaurant itself has so much potential, a beautiful building with an unused patio,and a nice bar area. The service was slow, and I actually got my food to go because the atmosphere in there was as dry as the meat. I gave this place three stars because, as I stated before, this place has so much potential. I really hope it doesn't turn into an empty building in our beautiful town again. read more
