Now, I wasn't really happy about our seat but I couldn't see behind the wall to know if there was another table to request to move to. We were sat in the front corner I guess directly under a vent and it was already chilly outside. I didn't let it bother me because I really wanted to try ERRTHANG on the menu. Now, this is where I was about to get up and leave. We sat for a good while and NO ONE came to greet, take a drink order, or even ask have we been helped. I want to say it's because we were somewhat out of sight. Because it was freezing I got up and asked for another table, which was on the other side of the wall with all the other customers and much warmer even with the patio bar doors open. No, I don't remember my waiters name, but he came over immediately and apologized for us being stranded in the back. We went on to order our drinks which came fairly quickly and we ordered our food. I was kind of disappointed because he said they no longer served fried crab legs and should be taken off the menu, but that's OK. I was ready to order something else. I had Chef Mo's Shrimp & Grits and when I say it's the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life. It was amazing. The grits were three cheese grits with crawfish, étouffée, and large perfectly shrimp with some BOMB jalapeño beef sausage, which I would have removed, but I said let's do it. Best decision I've ever made. I cannot stop thinking about the grits. My friend ordered the Cajun fried fish and grits with a side of eggs (no pic). We both raved the entire time about how creamy and delicious the grits were. I didn't need to add anything, no butter, no salt, no sugar. They were absolutely amazing and I'm not even a huge grits fan. Now, the fish, the menu stated half a pound, which came out to be one small piece of whiting. I guess I was expecting a bigger piece or maybe two pieces because it was so tiny but that baby filet was seasoned to the gods, I mean perfect. The breading was so flavorful but not overpowering or salty. The eggs tasted like the eggs I had in the marines out of a bag, but he mix them with the grits and was fine. Everything was so good that we thought about coming back later that night to try something else. Please bring back the deep-fried crab legs

The space has more of a neighborhood restaurant with a small bar vibe, and they were playing a solid R&B playlist that kept the atmosphere relaxed. The highlight of my visit was server, Denise. She was friendly, patient, and really helped me narrow down my food selections. If the restaurant sees this, please thank her for me and give her a BIG, FAT RAISE!!! Now...the food. It was just...mid. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing stood out either. It wasn't memorable enough to have me thinking about coming back. Considering they're a Cajun-Latin fusion restaurant, I expected bolder flavors and more of a wow factor. As for the location, it's in an area that's clearly being revitalized and gentrified, but it's still not one of my favorite parts of town. The restaurant gives neighborhood bar energy more than destination restaurant vibes. Would I come back? Probably not on purpose. If I happened to be in the area with friends, and we needed a quick stop for food or drinks, sure. But I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here. He was amazing! His service, attitude, attentiveness, and overall professionalism were all on point and really helped make our visit enjoyable. To start, we ordered the jerk charbroiled oysters, which were incredibly flavorful and delicious. We also had the mango habanero wings, cooked extra crispy just as requested. They were packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, my girlfriend ordered the chicken and shrimp Rasta pasta. It was well-portioned, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I had the jerk salmon and shrimp with cabbage and rice and peas, and it was equally impressive. We also added a side of mac and cheese, which was a great complement to the meal. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience. The food was flavorful, the portions were satisfying, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was welcoming and enjoyable. I definitely plan on coming back during the week to check out Happy Hour and returning on a Sunday to experience brunch. Highly recommended!

Whatever seasoning they use is chef's kiss -- I selected garlic as a topping but I could tell there was more going on. The crab meat was warm and perfectly seasoned too. My only note: the 16oz eats more like a side salad than a main dish. For $13 it's competitive with a Sweetgreen or Cava, so next time I'm just sizing up to the 32oz. Service : 8/10 -- The young lady at the register was pleasant and made sure my order was complete. I did wait an extra 5-8 minutes past my 5:55 pickup time, but nothing major. Ambiance : 9/10 -- Not your average salad spot. The vibe is cozy -- think relaxed bar & lounge on a smaller scale. Love that the menu item names are fun and creative, though the menu itself feels a little busy and could be simplified. I'd love to see Kenny Kale franchised on a larger scale someday. Overall: 9/10 -- Kenny Kale is killing it and is def a keeper on my list I found this place and ordered the same day -- that's how excited I was. I'm genuinely thrilled to have a unique, healthy restaurant in the area that isn't another Chipotle, Tropical Smoothie, or..... fried chicken spot that keep getting placed in Black communities instead of diverse, health-forward choices. And did I mention it was black-owned?! lol nonetheless, it's a literal breath of fresh air. I'll definitely be back!

The organizer had booked the brunch about a week in advance and had coordinated with the restaurant to pay a large group deposit. The reservation was for 1:30 PM, but our table was not ready until 2 PM. When we were finally seated, the table was only set for 20 people. We were in the upstairs room with another large group, so there was no space to really add two more chairs to our table. We had to crowd into the table to accommodate the last two people. Even though the brunch is bottomless with a menu to choose from, the servers decided to just bring random items from the brunch menu to the table. Honestly, some of the worst food I have ever seen. The vegetable vitamin salad looked like slop, as did the rice/salad dish, which I'm not even sure what it was called. We were also brought a trio of three dips as well as pita and cornbread. The dips were very bland, the cornbread was dry and flavorless. As I did not like any of the items that the servers selected, I begin requesting other salads/appetizers off of the menu. I requested the Greek/Mediterranean salad and the pickles, both were very underwhelming. As far as the brunch foods, the menu was literally all over the place. Even though this is a Balkan-inspired restaurant, there were items such as fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and shrimp and grits on the menu, which don't actually make sense in light of what Balkan cuisine is. The best thing I ate was grilled steak, which was on a platter with eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. There were two Belgian dessert waffles as well which were underwhelming. The only decent thing about the entire experience is that our servers kept the mimosas flowing. Each person in our party paid $75 inclusive of tax and tip-- 100% NOT worth it.

We sat directly in front of the band and speakers. Id suggest pushing tables back a bit. We ordered from the late night menu. Pls note after 10pm the menu is limited. We ordered the honey hot wing and fries as well as the jerk wings. I assumed the jerk was grilled and it wasn't. They were very spicy if you like spice. We didn't order cocktails. The jerk chicken sandwich was kinda small and Chicken thighs are used. The overall vibe was decent and the price wasn't bad at all. I would visit again

It's a small but quaint spot with a mix of booth and table seating, making it a nice place for a relaxed dinner with friends. As a picky eater visiting for the first time, I kept my order simple with wings and rice. The wings were the highlight of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The rice, however, was disappointing. It was dry and lacked seasoning, and I found myself wishing it had at least a little butter and salt to enhance the flavor. The mocktails were delicious and complemented the meal well. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The music was at the perfect volume--easy to enjoy while still being able to carry on a conversation without shouting, which made for a pleasant evening with friends. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. One small note: the ladies' restroom was clean but very small and narrow. It had a hook-and-latch style door but no place to hang a purse, which would be a nice addition. Parking on H Street is always a hit or miss, so plan accordingly if you're driving. Ratings: * Food: (3/5) * Atmosphere: (3/5) * Service: (4/5) * Dinner with Friends: (5/5) Overall, Lydia on H is a pleasant neighborhood spot with friendly service, tasty wings, and excellent mocktails. While the rice missed the mark for me, I enjoyed the company, the conversation, and the relaxed atmosphere. I would consider returning to try other menu items.

Not ideal, but honestly... once I tasted the food, I got over that real quick. The Cajun salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked and the sauce on it was everything. Easily the best salmon bites I've ever had. Even without dining in, the food held up and still felt like a full experience. If I'm ever back in DC, I would definitely go back--hopefully to dine in next time.

Me and my sister came here for the first time, I got it confused with Miss Shirley's but still wanted to check it out. Simple set up but a welcoming staff. There was a live jazz 2 man band which was very fitting. Denise was our waitress and was very nice, attentive and informing. After the oysters, I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta. I did not care for it at all, the shrimp was full of seasoning but not the pasta itself. It was like it was thrown on top of the sauce and everything was just mixed in lightly. My sister ordered the shrimp and grits that looked so oily when it came out, we asked Denise if they could make less oily. It was just returned within 2-3 minutes with more oil we just asked for it to be taken back. My sister ended with the chicken and waffles. I honestly will never understand that concept but she liked it. We also ordered the spinach dip and it tasted so bland. We also got the charbroiled oysters,we didn't like the cheese on it. I'm use to briny or spicy type of charbroiled. I don't think it's worth the $55 bottomless food unless you are super hungry and can eat for awhile. We didn't do the bottomless drinks but for $25 that's not bad at all.
