My mother and I came for dinner for my birthday after driving for a half hour and calling repeatedly to make a reservation with no answer. When arriving there were many people outside being served yet the hostess informed us that she could not seat us because the power was out. As we were leaving we noticed the power was in fact not out and she sat the group 4 that came after us. Truly disappointed in the staff at Ricardo's and how poorly we were treated. We dropped in because we were sort of stuck in this area for an evening. I found this spot on yelp and decided to give it a try based solely on reviews and or photos. It is in a little corporate plaza but has a lovely little outdoor patio. The restaurant is small but clean. Our server Rob was very attentive and did a lovely job. The drinks were a bit slow, but the tempo of the meal did get better and the quality of their food is lovely. They do dry age their meats so their menu is primarily meat but I have to say they do their very best to accommodate others ie Vegan choices, chicken, fish etc. So kudos! I did a scallop appetizer with a lemon gel which was super interesting.... the scallops could have had a little harder sear but they were delicious and the gel. The risotto was vegan and I missed that so they were amazing and took the dish back and added some parmesan cheese and reheated the dish to melt it all into the dish! I give them a hats off for trying! I would go back if we were more of a local. read more

W O W Talk about fancy. Walking up to the swank exterior one can see tables around a fire pit. Don't be mistaken by the logo, those are meat cleavers not old timey razors. Once inside you'll be treated to the sexiest display of aged beef this side of Vladimir Putin. Our table had the 45-day aged ribeye, cooked medium rare all around. Our steak came marbled and cooked to perfection alongside potatoes that were mashed by the Gods and divinely roasted Brussels sprouts. Excellent meal and worth every penny. The absolute best service. Rob D. exceeded our expectations, very friendly, personal and attentive to our needs. 10/10 recommendation.

The short: after dining here the word 'pretentious' came to mind. The detailed: I had warm goat cheese, Caesar's salad and the rib eye. The goat cheese was tiny surrounded by a large amount of white bread drizzled with balsamic dressing. The Caesar's was dry and I asked for extra dressing which was good. The worst offense was the rib eye alegedly dry aged and it tasted like nothing. The veggies again drizzled with that balsamic. And that was a $42 steak and all that advertising on the menu about dry aging... Of note: it was 58F outside and the AC was blasting inside and I wish I had brought my winter coat to dinner. When asked the server said something about 'not having access to the AC controls.' I think that was the baloney that wasn't on the menu served to me on the house. A lot of people here on yelp cut some slack to those Washington restaurants out in the middle of nowhere saying they didn't expect more to begin with but I take issue with such approach. Sub-par quality, short cuts, inappropriate cost cutting, and lack of attention to detail, or plain ignorance and incompetence are just that. 3 stars for this experience because the drinks, at least, were good. read more

New to Olympia and we're trying all the restaurants. Maybe COVID is a factor, but this was not a good experience. First, the service: We were seated quickly then ignored. Finally got in a drink order and then ignored. During our wait, two obviously young teens were running around the bar without masks, in and out. Not sure what that was about but none of the staff seemed disturbed by these kids..., in the bar..., without masks... After a long wait, almost 15 minutes, we got our drinks. 10 seconds later, the waitress brought our salad and our entrees and then literally disappeared until we had the bartender track her down so we could pay our bill. We had empty glasses and no way to order dessert so we wanted out. The food: We really wanted to like this place. The $29 stroganoff was barely edible. Tasteless brown gravy and last weeks roast carved into chunks made for a dish that would make the Wagon Wheel Buffet blush. The pasta carbonara was the opposite of creamy. The pancetta was chewy and tasted odd. The egg yolks that are used to form the 'creamy' sauce had 'broken', leaving a noodle and scrambled egg platter that looked like something a 10 year old made for Mother's Day. It might be the 'house' style for this dish, but having devoted a lot of dining time to carbonara all over the world, this one stands out as something completely 'different'. No wait staff in sight. Weak food. High prices. Teens running around the bar. Not a great recipe for success. On a positive note, the IPA was delicious and the gin martini was very good. We would have had more (more alcohol seemed like a solution at the time), but again, the wait staff was MIA. Maybe a bad day for Ricardo? Maybe just a timing problem? Maybe we shouldn't have ordered pasta? Maybe to all, but it'll be awhile before we wander back in to this place. read more

Hands down the best service i've experienced here in Lacey! Nothing beats warm, hospitable, generous servers and owners who take pride in their establishment and serve delicious food! Since we made reservations for an anniversary, we were promptly served chilled champagne as soon as we were seated. We started with Ricardo clams (we were not supposed to ask how they were prepared - just to trust them) and the appy platter. Awesome cheese, scrumptious clams and sauce and delicious warm and soft sourdough bread. We went all out for dinner with the tomahawk prime rib steak for 2. It was prepared perfectly and was so well seasoned. Not to mention that their green beans were prepared in duck fat and their mac and cheese with just delicious - gotta love the crispy crunchy edges! A trifecta of mini desserts ended our meal - the tiramisu was my favorite hands down. And the whole meal was balanced with a lovely bottle of pinot noir that our server let breathe so we could have it in time with our apps.
