30 Day Filet Mignon, 45 Day Prime "Rib Eye"
Maria S.

I used to LOVE Ricardo's. It was a nice place to celebrate and was upscale... but in the last 2 years I've really struggled with enjoying it as much. The food presentation has gone down hill and sometimes strange. Their interpretation for French onion soup ruined my dinner on my second to last visit. Last night we went to celebrate my son's 16th birthday and his steak was smothered in so much sauce he didn't want to eat it. I think the food is still flavorful, the steaks are delicious, but the presentation and balance has been lost. I remember getting the filet and it used to be a nice design is sauce around the potatoes with the steak laid nicely on top. It didn't completely FILL the plate. When my plate was "plated" this was my vision of how it looked in the back: here's a spoon full of potatoes (splat) here's the steak (smack) here's some Gorgonzola (heavy pour). Like serving in a cafeteria. We've been slowly transitioning to the other steak house in town and unless I notice a quick increase in quality presentation... I can't say I'll keep trying. At this point the last chance will be when we host our Christmas party here (only because the other steak house was already booked) The server was amazing and attentive. It was a little upsetting that he wasn't notified when the sushi chef left. when we'd placed an order, he had to come back to tell us that there was no sushi available.

Took my buddy out to splurge. He's never had a tomahawk or an old fashioned. Our waitress was phenomenal and the setting was perfect. Both our steaks were amazing and drinks were perfect. Definitely spendy but Ricardo's never disappoints.

Went to Happy Hour and got some pretty good steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Also tried the lava cake which was more uncooked cake rather than a cake with melted ganache in it and they give you the smallest ball of ice cream to go with it. Their outdoor patio is great on a sunny day but the servers were just off. None of them were very friendly and they kinda seemed sad, so I don't want to be too critical since who knows what they were going through. At least the server who brought us our coffee tried hard by frothing whipping cream with milk to make up for their not having half and half, which was nice because it turned out Americanos into lattes. Still, for Happy Hour $80 is pricey for two people.

Outside of restaurant

Food was good but price was high. Pork chop was good but engulfed with to much gravy. And for a high standard place the bathrooms were very messy and dirty.

This is the place for steak, seafood, and sushi (on Wednesday). I can't say enough about the food, the kind service, and the attack on your gastric delights. Bravo!

We split the special that they offered that night. Plenty for 2. Added a Caesar salad.

Always have a great time at Ricardo's. Staff is super friendly. Food never disappoints. I like how easy it is to make a reservation on open table.

Special menu for Valentine's Day weekend?

Will duck nachos return? We sat on the patio eating those several times, a couple years ago, but have never seen them since then.

Hi Rhoda, I'm glad you enjoyed them. We didn't sell much so unlikely to return ;( they were delicious though.

Can you get food to go?

Yes!

Are you going to bring back the turkey nachos? I loved them!

We will do them again around fall!

Do they still serve beef carpaccio here ? I can't seem to find this dish in places that I used to

Our beef carpaccio is seasonal. It will be on the menu next year!

What is your corkage charge?

$30

How do I confirm my reservation?

As I recall, Ricardo’s only books reservations thru YELP now which is what I did. Then a reservation confirmation was sent by email or text if memory serves.…

The shrimp was good, through the seasoning was inconsistent despite my best efforts. I ordered the spiciest option, and the shrimp was the only part I got the spice from. Sometimes I'm there was no heat, other times it felt like it was trying to kill me. My biggest gripe with the food was the lack of potatoes. Why get stingy with potatoes? There were only 2 in the boil I got. It was a generous amount of food overall, but I feel like potatoes are the weirdest part to skimp out on. The restaurant looked nice and had good lighting. My biggest complaint overall was the choice of music. Objectively, it was not appropriate for a family joint. It was Kanye West, Childish Gambino, Tyler the Creator, and other similar artists. The songs were explicit, and there were many families with children in the restaurant. I can't rate it too low because all the food I tried was great, and I hope to come again in the future.

I ordered the Wet Burrito (foreground of photo) and the Chile Relleno de Camarón (background). Both were, without exaggeration, the best we've ever had. The flavors were vibrant and balanced, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the spice profile had that perfect layered depth you hope for but rarely find. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size. We're already telling everyone we know to come eat here. This place is a gem.

Did have to request cutlery and it took a while to get the typical complimentary chips and salsa, but once they did them and beverages they kept up on it and checking in overall! Nice atmosphere and comfortable booths. Chicken Wet Burrito "Bowl" Overall 2.4/5. Chicken 3/5. Rice 3/5. Beans 2/5. Toppings 3/5. Size & value 2/5. Surprised the chicken was in strips usually it's shredded but that's fine by me! I order my burritos as a "bowl" usually without tortilla, cheese, sour cream. Top it with salsa and mix it together. The chicken breast had good seasoning and flavor, a little dry but not bad. The rice was fine but a little moist and not super flavorful, salty. The refried beans were thin and way to salty. I could taste salt after every bite. The lettuce and salsa were fine, nothing special, a sweet red enchilada style salsa rojo I requested, it usually comes with a green salsa verde.

The beans in my Plate were just how I like them Smooth with a Hint of texture, not too much. The rice was moist and well cooked not to mention, flavorful as well. My wife got the nachos which she absolutely loved and only had 5 chips left over which, being the good guy I am, helped with. Seriously though the nachos were great. She added extra jalepeno which they had no problem doing for her . We also noticed in a restaurant that's ethnic has a lot of people from the same culture eating there that's a GREAT sign! Service is prompt and pleasant.
