I placed my order on the tablet. Before the two ladies who were placing their order with the cashier. They both got served. I got up and ask and she tells me 5 mins. Why would you make people wait when they ordered first? It's just one person working and I get it but it's not right. If you want to encourage people to use a tablet then you should skip around orders. And she didn't bring or tell you where utensils are. But. She did for all the other customers. read more

The pad thai was amazing. All the dishes I tried were good. Everything was fresh and looked pretty. The Yelp event was fun. I got to answer one of the questions correctly and our team won. Sean said hi and you can tell his commitment to his restaurants because he has a baby at home and he was working so hard, cooking all the dishes! I have been going to this restaurant quite regularly and I have always liked their food. But price has been going up little by little and portion has become smaller. Today the portion was really small and despite the small amount of veggie I guess they used way more sauce and it was too salty for me to eat. I went to the counter, politely asked if they could remake it as I honestly could not eat it. The girl who was working in the kitchen just stared at me and gave me a nasty look like I was asking something obscure.... I don't think I will come back again. It came out really fast and it was really filling. None of the items come with any meat so if you want meat you would need to add on. This wouldn't be a good place for vegetarians. It was exactly what I wanted right then. The yellow curry was lovely, all ingredients were very fresh. Decent value, I feel I got what I paid for. Service was fast! Our food was in front of us maybe 5 minutes after ordering. If you're in the Robson/Coal Harbour neighbourhood and need a quick, flavourful and value for money lunch, this is the spot! I've been coming to Rice and Noodle on a pretty regular basis for the past year given it's proximity to my workplace. Service is extremely quick. Great variety of options along with a sliding scale of spice levels that are available which is a really good feature! My go to is usually the Pineapple Fried Rice (photo below) but would also recommend the Pad Thai, Penang Curry or the Tom Yum. This place has legit flavors being from the Berkeley area of Northern California, we had had our share of good food from the Far East. The pad thai, tom yum and laksa had spot on flavors. Their wok technique was spot on with good "wok hei" known as dragon's breath which comes come thru very high heat and a properly seasoned wok. The server for dine-in was super nice albeit being very busy with delivery drivers. The place was bright and modern. I can honestly say it was one of the top meals we had in 5 days in Vancouver. Rice & Noodle has good quality fast food that is easy to order and fresh. You pick a base and a protein, order at the counter and your food is out in under 15 minutes. I had the Mongolian stir fry with tofu at level 4 spice, which is pretty spicy! It's hard to imagine what Level 10 is. This dish had a brown slightly sweet sauce and the carrots, broccoli, sprouts and other vegetables were stir fried just enough to retain their crisp and color. We tried Pad Thai beef and chicken. In my point of view it was one of the worst Pad Thai I've ever tried before to be honest, because I am a Pad Thai lover hehe I tried both beef and chicken and it was weird, the flavor didn't match together even though they were just different type of protein... While on a solo vacation from the United States, I stopped for some chicken Pad See Ew for a late-night dinner. It was delicious! I got foodora to deliver me a pad see ew and Mongolian beef with level 8 spiciness. I like that the pad see ew had lots of veggies and it wasn't drowned in some sweet sauce. It was just spicy and savoury. So delicious! The Mongolian beef was pretty good as well. I think the price is pretty good for the quality of food you get, even though the portion size may be a little on the small side. I wish they had a mixed vegetable dish. The thing that's different about this Thai restaurant is that it's layout is similar to a fast food restaurant. You order at the counter by choosing your rice or noodle base, the level of spiciness you want and your protein. You can then add on extra toppings or sides if you like. From the interior of the restaurant, you never would of guessed that this was an order at the counter style restaurant. The interior was modern and they had both booths and a bar table. Upon ordering you bring your number to where you're sitting and they'll bring it right over when they're ready with it. I decided to go with the Tom Yum noodle soup because if you don't have a good Tom Yum, how do you call yourself a Thai restaurant? I decided to go with 5/10 on the spicy scale and goodness I could taste the heat. At first I could handle it but by the end of my meal, my mouth was numb from the spiciness. Out the three dishes my friend's and I liked the pad sew ew the most. It had great flavour and decent amount of meat and veggie that went with it. All three dishes were around $10 - 11. This restaurant is mostly self served where you get your own water and utensil and you order at the cashier first and find your own seat. Decided to give this place a try since my friend reccomended it and I was really craving pad thai and needed a quick bite. Walked in and the place was extremely clean and had quite a bit of seating for a small pop in style restaurant. You go up to the counter to order and there's a a set menu you order from and you get to choose your protein. For $9.99 (before tax), was the pad thai and I ordered that with chicken. You're also able to choose your spice levels so I chose medium just for a bit of a kick. After I ordered, I went and sat down and waited for 10 minutes and my pad thai was ready. If you are allergic to peanuts, make sure to notify them before hand since they will put it on the side of your plate. Overall, the pad thai was great! Good flavour, noodle texture was good, good amount of chicken and tofu as well. I'm giving this place 4 stars since although I had a really good experience and the food was great, it was nothing too CRAZY to write home about - just perfect to pop in for a quick bite or takeout. My new go-to place for $10 lunches. Yes, $10 is a big deal because this is Downtown Vancouver and almost everything is more. Pretty busy most days during lunch so go early or just do take out. For take out, you could even order online or give them a call an order over the phone. If you eat there, make sure you order your food, get a number and find somewhere to sit. The restaurant is also sparkling clean, elegant, and modern. It carries a simple menu, with each entry averaging a reasonable ~$10. I tried the green curry with 5 on the spiciness scale.
