Not a bad Thai place for when you want something quick. We came closer to closing time and fortunately made the cut off for taking orders. There are only two small tables and a counter for ordering in, which is pretty small and made it quite uncomfortable since the tables and the counter were so close together. They also don't have a bathroom. Our food arrived fairly quickly and tasted good, but nothing out of this world. I ordered the red curry and was disappointed that the flavor fell flat. It wasn't very spicy either so it just didn't feel like it had a lot of dimension to it. The chicken wings were good (although a bit on the small side) and were crispy and very hot when it came out.

Food was decently portioned, pad Thai was what I had expected and it had a decent amount of spice (I asked for spicy) but still needed some extra chili oil on top (which they provided). Staff are friendly and helped us get a seat to enjoy our meal before they closed for the night. The restaurant is small, 2 tables and 1 bar by the window. I think most people do take out here due to the limited space, but it's nice to sit down and enjoy the food! Drinks are in the fridge if you want sodas or water. They also have Thai coffee and Thai iced tea.

Stopped by for lunch and got their chicken pad thai lunch special, which comes with a spring roll. Noodles were perfectly cooked, flavor was good too. The spring roll was filled with vermicelli. Would have enjoyed some vegetables or more ingredients in the meal but the taste and texture were all there.

Confused about this place because I ordered from "fried chicken and appetizer world" on ubereats and the address is here. They do have a facebook page though. I ordered a pad thai, which is $12.59, but when I came to the restaurant, the menu is $15 for a pad thai. It seems like they are running a business within a business? The pad thai is in a container that has two compartments so the portion is smaller compared to the pad thai from the actual restaurant. The other compartment was one spring roll. The taste was good and there is no extra charge for prawn which is awesome. However, I'm not sure if $12.59 is justifiable for a portion that is a little more than half of what the restaurant itself offers at $15. It was a good deal on ubereats BOGO.

This is pretty bad thai food. Besides soy sauce, can't taste much of other flavors or fresh spices The stir fried rice probably only had soy sauce and sugar. The mix vegetables is the same vegetables as my noodles. Flavorless.

We found this little spot in the Cambie Village through a Facebook ad. That's got to be a first for us. We ordered: - green curry with chicken and eggplant, with a spring roll (The seasoning of the curry was good; the spring roll was the weak link and completely unmemorable.) - crunchy munchy chicken (This was on a special and worth a try.) We noticed too late that we could have ordered brown jasmine rice. That would have been nice. Pricing was very reasonable. This is a good value. Service was decent. The cashier answered our questions and seemed pleasant. Parking was free in the neighborhood or at a meter on Cambie. Bottom line: I liked this enough to come back and hope we'll do so periodically.

They should rename this place "Take Away Home". We've been ordering food from this place throughout COVID-19. It's really convenient that you can order online, and then go pick it up. Food is made quickly, and tastes amazing. The deep-fried chicken wings are not to be missed. They are perfectly crispy, and infused with garlic flavor. They come with a tangy dipping sauce, but I prefer eating them sans sauce because they are that good! The key is eating them while they are piping hot. Noodles and rice dishes are standard fare. The curries are terrific, regardless of red/green color. The beef "salad" is refreshing and tangy. Best of all, for around $40, you can get two entrees, a salad and those amazing wings. Thai Away Home has quickly become one of my favorite go-to places during COVID-19.

I ordered takeout from here since I was craving pad thai and my cravings were satisfied! I ordered the chicken pad thai and paid extra for tofu and they added in soo much! The chicken in their pad thai is so juicy and flavourful, not dry at all and I love the tamarind based sauce they use for their noodles! I do wish that they had a little wedge of lime! I've eaten at many locations of Thai Away Home and I can say that their pad thai is one of my favourites in town, consistency is there and so delicious!

Chicken pad thai with a surprise

This was my second time ordering from the Cambie location - first time picking up. I was met with a friendly staff member at the counter. I was able to order and pick up quickly - food was still nice and hot when i came back much later than anticipated for it. I was impressed with the takeout portion of the lunch pad thai. The vegetarian spring roll was nice and crispy. Minus one star because when I opened the container I spotted a foreign object that shouldn't be there. It was a piece of clear plastic! Almost like another container lid snapped and flew into my food.... Luckily I spotted it before I started eating.

My friend and I had craving for Pad Thai and we decided to try new her neighborhood restaurant. We had lunch special Pad Thai & Salad for lunch special $7.95 with tax We agreed ketchup flavor was bit strong but still tasty. I was happy to see many prawns in it. I'm sure I will come back again. In Summer, inside of the restaurant is much warmer than outside. I recommend you to sit at patio table if possible. They sell original curry sauce and pudding to go.

For a quick and fast Thai lunch, this is one of my go to places near my house. Friendly staff, order up front and they will bring your food out to your table (or get takeout!). My standard order is off the lunch specials menu (most items under $10, available until 4pm daily!), red curry with pumpkin served with a side of salad, rice and spring roll. Water is available in the corner of the restaurant, beside the fridges in the back The curries here are on the salty side for me, but the food still tastes delicious, I just add extra rice and it all balances out. I've been coming here for couple years now, and both the food and service is consistently good. When in season, also try the mango sticky rice, and of course, don't forget to grab their stamp card, buy 9 combos, 10th combo is free!

Downside was the calamari, the pieces are quite big which make it not as crispy as it would be. Our favorite was the salmon penang curry. the coconut flavor of the curry together with the sweetness make it a very well balanced item. it went very well with the jasmine rice. My partner really wanted to try their Boat Noodle for a while now so we were quite excited to try that dish. The waiter was nice and recommended a couple dishes for us. Som Tum (Papaya Salad) 3/5 The texture was nice and it tasted refreshing but it is QUITE spicy. I appreciate the authentic Thai spice level but it was too spicy for us. I liked the sourness and I know this rating is a very personal rating based on our spice tolerance. Roti with Curry Sauce 3.75/5 Nice, flaky roti that wasn't too oily. I wish there was a little more sauce. Pad See Ew with Crab Meat 4/5 Great flavor. There was a decent number of clumped up noodle but the portion was great. Good amount of crab as well. Boat Noodle Soup 4.25/5 This was the best boat noodle we had so far. Flavorful broth with generous portion of various meats. There could be an option to get more noodles but my partner got this and she was satisfied with the amount since there were good chunks of meat. Good heat that creeps up. Roselle Drink 3.75-4.5/5 Great compliment to the dishes as it lightened and refreshed our pallette. Slightly sour. It tasted better with the food than by itself. Thai Milk Tea 3.5/5 Good enough. Wasn't the best but wasn't bad. Rainbow Sweet Sticky Rice 4.25/5 We were surprised it came in a cup and that it was soup-ier than we imagined. I was hoping that they had mango sticky rice but we thoroughly enjoyed the coconut I think it's also important to keep in mind that this is a relatively fast paced restaurant. There is some wait so you want to finish your food, pay, and leave. The staff was nice but we could tell that they wanted to keep the flow. We would be coming back again for sure! I was also surprised to find pieces of whole fruit in the curry, something I haven't encountered in Thai curries before. The standout of the meal was definitely the Crying Tiger platter. We ordered it with both beef and pork jowl. While the beef was excellent, the pork jowl was especially memorable. Both meats had a wonderful charred, smoky flavor from the grill and were served alongside fresh vegetables and sticky rice, making for a satisfying and well-balanced dish. The prices were also extremely reasonable for the quality and portions. There are still so many dishes on the menu I'd love to try, and I'd happily return on a future visit to Vancouver.
