Pad Si Ew w Beef, Tom Yum Fried Rice w Prawns and Mango Sticky Rice w coconut milk sauce.
    Nami N.

I visited here during my stay in Vancouver. It was Friday dinner time, so when I went to the store without a reservation, it was full. So I ordered Pad si ew with beef, Tom yum fried rice with prawns and Mango sticky rice to take to go. While waiting, a seat became available, but what I ordered was quickly completed. I ate at the hotel, and Pad Si ew was medium spicy, but it felt quite spicy. Tom Yum Fried Rice was easy to eat and had a lot of shrimp. I liked the sticky mongo rice I ordered for dessert. it was very delicious when I sprinkled coconut milk on it. Next time, I want to try something else!

visited this cozy, 22-seater spot with a party of three at 5:30 pm on a wednesday. i'd heard it can be tough to get a table since seating is limited, but we lucked out and got in without a wait. the space is tight but has a lively energy, with a steady flow of takeout orders and skip the dishes pickups keeping the kitchen busy. it was unusually warm inside, as the heater was blowing hot air at 29 degrees. we shared the pad si ew, pad thai, green papaya salad, deep-fried chicken wings, and tom ka gai (coconut milk chicken soup with lemongrass). portions lean on the smaller side, but it's a good excuse to try more dishes. sadly, no mango sticky rice on the menu, but there's still plenty to satisfy a craving for healthy, thai flavours. the neighbourhood feels a little rough around the edges, but it's worth a visit if you're in the granville entertainment district and looking for a quick and casual spot with fresh, hot food. arrive early if you're dining in, seats fill up fast.

Sometimes I get these mad cravings for Pad Thai, and now I've found the place for it. Yup. That's it. This place. Good Pad Thai.

Their Pad Thai is one of the best Pad Thai I've ever had. Had to buy another one before going back to US

Pad SI ew with tofu was pretty good
    Christina L.

We got Pad Thai with chicken (spicy) and Pad Si Ew with tofu for takeout. Portion is average so big guys might need an appy. The spicy pad Thai was quite delicious. We loved the spiciness, but it is "Asian spicy" so I think most people would not be able to tolerate it. The pad si ew had lots of veggies in it, but it was oily and a bit bland at the same time so next time I will ask them to make it spicy as well. Overall, ingredients tasted fresh and I will do takeout from there again. I only wish the debit/credit machine didn't have a tip screen that you have to bypass before paying because it requires everyone to touch the pin pad during COVID-19 times. I'd prefer to just tap my card without touching anything.

Good food for the price and location. Everything was tasty and fresh. Small business seats 16 max, so service is right on.

    Swimming Rama

Was really happy with my takeout here a few weeks ago! I tried the swimming rama. The peanut sauce was seriously amazing, it was super flavourful! I didn't expect a dish of just spinach and tofu to be so filling but they really packed it in there and the rich sauce also did a lot for it in that department. Everything (especially the fried egg on the side) was on the greasy side, I ended up dabbing the egg with a napkin to minimize the oiliness, but otherwise I really enjoyed my food. At the time when I ordered they had a 10% discount if you order for pickup instead of delivery, which my wallet thanked my for, but the regular price is pretty reasonable.

    Green curry chicken with eggplant

I stumbled through the entrance on a cold and damp Wednesday night in November. A space heater by the door and a warm smile from the cute and friendly hostess immediately thawed my numb extremities. A cozy and welcoming environment on a brisk evening... After conferring with the Heavenly Goddess that was the hostess I decided from her recommendation to enjoy the green coconut curry. The green curry comes with eggplant and the protein of your choice. I went with the chicken and a side of white rice. You do have the option of brown rice which is healthier alternative for those hoping to live longer. The food came fast! The silky smooth coconut and basil broth was comforting and complex with just the right amount of heat to awaken the senses. By no means am I a rice connoisseur but the rice was on point as well. The only disappointing aspect of the meal was that the chicken was overcooked and missing tenderness. God knows I could use a little tenderness in my life right now #firstworldproblems. A solid 4 stars for service, quality and price. Portion size adequate but bigger eaters will need an appy. Total cost including tip around 15 bucks. Yelp had 10% off with check in. BON APPETIT!

This was probably the worst experience I have ever had with service. Food was ok. Felt the staff was rude and not very accommodating. The food was decent portions but I felt the pad thai was greasy and the spring rolls were cold. I just wanted to have nice lunch but the experience made me lose my appetite. I'm most likely going to a different place the next time I go for thai food.

Great snack/appetizer before hitting the pub. Great staff. Delich.

Downside was the calamari, the pieces are quite big which make it not as crispy as it would be. My partner really wanted to try their Boat Noodle for a while now so we were quite excited to try that dish. The waiter was nice and recommended a couple dishes for us. Som Tum (Papaya Salad) 3/5 The texture was nice and it tasted refreshing but it is QUITE spicy. I appreciate the authentic Thai spice level but it was too spicy for us. I liked the sourness and I know this rating is a very personal rating based on our spice tolerance. Roti with Curry Sauce 3.75/5 Nice, flaky roti that wasn't too oily. I wish there was a little more sauce. Pad See Ew with Crab Meat 4/5 Great flavor. There was a decent number of clumped up noodle but the portion was great. Good amount of crab as well. Boat Noodle Soup 4.25/5 This was the best boat noodle we had so far. Flavorful broth with generous portion of various meats. There could be an option to get more noodles but my partner got this and she was satisfied with the amount since there were good chunks of meat. Good heat that creeps up. Roselle Drink 3.75-4.5/5 Great compliment to the dishes as it lightened and refreshed our pallette. Slightly sour. It tasted better with the food than by itself. Thai Milk Tea 3.5/5 Good enough. I was hoping that they had mango sticky rice but we thoroughly enjoyed the coconut I think it's also important to keep in mind that this is a relatively fast paced restaurant. I'm not usually the biggest duck fan, but the curry itself had great flavor. The broth was a bit looser and soupier than I was expecting, but it paired wonderfully with rice. I was also surprised to find pieces of whole fruit in the curry, something I haven't encountered in Thai curries before. The standout of the meal was definitely the Crying Tiger platter. We ordered it with both beef and pork jowl. While the beef was excellent, the pork jowl was especially memorable. Both meats had a wonderful charred, smoky flavor from the grill and were served alongside fresh vegetables and sticky rice, making for a satisfying and well-balanced dish. The prices were also extremely reasonable for the quality and portions. There are still so many dishes on the menu I'd love to try, and I'd happily return on a future visit to Vancouver.

My fellow Yelpers raved about this place when I first moved here, and my kid came here with her school pals 5-6 years ago and also raved about the wings. It's been on my list to come here forever - and last night, finally, I did. It did not disappoint. My kid warned me, there'll probably be a line up waiting to get in (they don't take reservations here. I checked), so we decided to go at an off-time and get an early dinner, around 5pm on Friday. We walked there and, miracle of miracle, there was no line and we got seated right away. (Granted, we got the last vacant table in the place, and when we left after our meal, there already was a line of people waiting to get in). Food-wise...wow. I am NOT one for adventurous eating, so there were dishes on the menu I couldn't comfortably order (I wish I could, but hey, I'm better now than I used to be!). Still, there was lots for me to choose from. And first and foremost, I HAD to try the famous chicken wings. And I can honestly say, they were the best I've ever had: SO SO crunchy and crispy on the outside, and hot and moist on the inside. OMG so so so good. I can't speak highly enough of these! My kid ordered the butter beef. It was tasty and soft ("like butta!"), and the marinade was lovely, but personally, I couldn't get over the...rawness and redness of the meat and juice (which looked like blood to me). For fellow non-adventurous eaters out there, this might not be for you, despite how flavorful it tasted. It was just hard for me to get over how it looked. (I know I'm in a minority here. This dish is one of their most popular and asked-for dishes). We had the garlic dry spare ribs. I love spareribs. These were delicious but a tad too salty and greasy. I brought most of them home and had them today for lunch. I gotta say, they were so much better for me today: less salty, and I blotted off the excess grease. Delicious! My kid ordered a "small" sweet and sour soup with prawns, and wow, it came in a huge black cauldren. I can't imagine ordering a large size. Anyhow, this soup was a stand-out soup - especially for my kid who said she had dreams about it all night (lol)! So complex in flavors - spicy, sweet, savory, chock full of prawns and sprouts and lotus shoots and pineapple chunks and and other delicious stuff.... For me, it was a wee tad too spicy, but wow, even I thought, this is a special soup. So delicious and warming. 10/10. Our servers were prompt and impressively able to efficiently tend to a full house of diners. They got it all down to a science here. One issue of note: my kid had to use the washroom at one point and she left for a very extended period of time. I actually thought at one point that something had happened to her or she was ill, she was gone so long (VERY unlike her). When she returned, she told me it was "quite a hike", around the back of the restaurant and up a flight of stairs, too. I only make note of this in case anyone has mobility issues, know that the bathroom will be difficult (or impossible) for you to access.
