what a cute new Thai grocery market in Sterling! It's not a huge market, but it has your Thai essentials. tons of snacks and instant noodles. instant Thai iced tea. all the Thai sauces you could be looking for. Thai medications. Thai frozen goods. Thai homemade sausages. really, it's just a really cute Thai grocery store. but the hidden gem, is the little restaurant in the corner. you can order your meal & wait for it while you shop. currently they are offering free Thai iced tea with any $25 order placed in store. the pad Thai was ok, but the mango sticky rice was delish. the kanom Chan was yummy! nice chewy, pandas flavor, definitely try this when you go. the owner is so friendly and welcoming. highly recommend stopping by & checking this place out!

STERLING, VA / THAI / 06-15-21 / TAKE-OUT DINNER +The pad thai tastes very traditional. Would've been better with wider rice noodles. +The crab fried rice was delicious. +The kids enjoyed the chicken satay. +I watched the chef prepare our food in the wok, and she was very professional with clean execution. Never did she touch her mask or let her ladle touch a questionable surface area on the grill. She had a bandana on, to make sure hair does not fall into the food. She also had a pair of cloth pants you can only get in Thailand, which I recognized because we have similar pairs from our travels. +The pandan sticky rice and mango dessert is a must order. +The store is very clean. -Submitted an online carry out order. Drove 20 minutes. Waited another 25 minutes, as it looked like they started cooking after we arrived inside to pick up the food. -They did not have the green chili peppers in vinegar or red chili peppers in fermented fish sauce, the sauces you find in the spice tray at other Thai food establishments. -The significant other foodie likes westernized pad thai. It wasn't spicy, salty, and sweet enough for her palette. Go figure. -The summer rolls are $8 and one of them popped, spilling all of the vegetables and shrimp/pork. Overall, the food was great! The ordering, operations, and execution could use some improvement, but I'll be back to try the other items on the menu. Best of luck to this Thai joint, and go check them out!

Best rose tea ever . I love that it not powder and actually rose tea

I came here for the weekly Thai market and I'm so glad I did! I learned about this market from TikTok and immediately bookmarked it. The market is outdoors when it's warmer outside but for the winter, it's inside RiceBerry Market. I wasn't expecting the market to be as busy as it was! Every stall was bustling with people. Each stall was offering different food and I was so excited to try some authentic Thai food. I got the 7 piece chive dumplings and a fresh papaya salad. What I loved about this market was that most of the food is created to order. It's as fresh as it gets! The people who work here too are genuinely some of the kindest people I've ever met. Everyone was so accommodating when I told them I was vegetarian. The chive dumplings were literal perfection! The dumpling wrapper was so soft and chewy, and the chive filling was flavorful. Each bite made me want to take another one. The papaya salad was also amazing. It was made completely fresh right in front of me, and the person making it gave me so much! She even gave me a sample to taste in case I wanted it more spicy. The salad and dumplings filled my friend and I up but we couldn't leave without getting a sweet treat. We got taro pastries and I was so shocked to see that there was legit taro inside! I'm so used to taro flavored things that I realized I had never had the real deal before. The pastry was a bit dry but honestly I didn't mind it. This market is every Sunday from 10am-3:30pm, and if you're in NoVa then it's definitely worth the trip!

It is nice to find an authentic Thai grocery store that also serves food in Sterling, VA. It's a hole in the wall. But the amount of Thai groceries is amazing. They have all the instant Thai noodles and snacks I have seen in the DMV. There are also frozen meats and all kinds of condiments and dry noodles. My husband and I ordered the crab meat fried rice and boat noodle soup. I loved the boat noodle soup which the option of beef brisket, tendon, and meatballs were given to us. The crab meat fried rice was just ok for me. The rice was soggy in my opinion. The amount of crab meat was decent. With our two dishes, we somehow scored a free drink. We wanted to Thai ice tea but they accidentally gave us the Thai coffee. Still pretty good.

I am SOOOO HAPPY that I found this small Thai market/carryout. They make one of my favorite Thai Street food, Sakoo sai moo, steam tapioca balls with pork/peanut filling! Their pandan coconut sticky rice with mango was delicious . Got hubby the thai fried rice with chicken and shrimp with an order of spring rolls. The ladies there were so nice! I will be back again very soon!

A first time customer to this place! Ordered delivery from the Fairfield Inn & Suites at Dulles Airport. Lunch options were great and prices were not too bad, even though you still had to pay delivery + tip. But it was worth it! Food was very tasty and flavorful! Got the seasoning right and spice level as well. Will have to try it again sometime when I am in the area again. Good stuff...

    PAD SEE-EEW

I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The Pad See Eew was delicious, and I really enjoyed the Tiger Tea drink. The staff was friendly, and what's even better is that the prices were affordable. Highly recommend!

Great local grocery to find Thai foods, snacks and ingredients! They sell hard to find thai products, in a nice and clean space. We loved their Bo Bia Sod! (Fresh spring rolls)

We visited this little Thai store in Sterling recently and had a good visit. They have a few aisles and fridges/freezers with food, and some restaurant offerings as well. We bought some fresh (non-frozen) durian fruit and ordered some pad thai, crab fried rice, and sticky rice with mango. The food is tasty, affordable, and good portions. The women working in the store were very friendly. There are a few tables to sit at and eat, but it is not like a full sit-down restaurant. Not a bad place to grab some quick and casual Thai food!

The service at the Sterling location on the day I visited was excellent. Friendly, patient, helpful, and polite. The feel of the location itself is your typical fast-food joint. Get in. Get out. Seemed clean enough. Not very cozy as in a great place to hang out. Not sure how it is during peak hours but the parking lot might get a bit crowded. The street for sure is busy & can cause cars to back up into the parking lot. The food, while not as awesome as I remembered it 5 years ago in MD, is still tasty. Today's visit, the meat in gyros was a bit dry & the gyros & the side of fries I paid full price for were rather skimpy in serving, given that the gyros used to be served with fries included in the price of the gyro. Still, the fries & the gyros still taste good. Not as good a value as in days of old...even on $7 gyro Wednesdays (which used to be $5 gyro Wednesdays). The fried fish sandwich was a good deal in these horrible economic times because it comes with a good-sized filet and fries. Although, $2 extra for Greek fries that only had a tablespoon of garlic, dry herbs, and feta crumbles tossed on top rolling off the fries then pooling at the bottom of the container. The garlic, herbs, & feta are supposed to stick to piping hot fries steaming with the awesome garlicky oil. What I received was really underwhelming and didn't even come close to the Greek fries I remember. So, I'll preface this review conclusion with this: Big Greek Cafe was one of my absolute favorite local joints... the food made me drool just thinking about it. The food was always plentiful in servings, hot, fresh, aromatic, wonderfully delicious, and everything on the menu was such a good value, you'd end up buying a ton of food. Was this trip worth the drive? Glad the curiosity about whether this VA location equaled the MD experiences was satisfied. Probably no longer high on my list to go out of my way to drive 30 minutes to get what used to be my fav sandwich. It seems a little too fast-foodsy, mass-produced now than the original delectable hole-in-the-wall local joint. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely pick up something because it's still tasty...just not as fantastic as I remember.

What a wonderful experience! The restaurant is a very, quite spacious and very welcoming. It's right next to a lake and so the setting was lovely. We had an indoor/outdoor room with doors that opened to the outside. I had a raspberry lemon martini with a sugared glass rim. Very nicely presented. They have a very varied menu and they also have a large gluten-free menu. We both had the lobster bisque as a starter and then we both ordered the fish tacos. The soup was filled with lots of lobster meat and was delicious. The fish tacos were made with cod and the waiter mentioned that the slaw had some habanero chile in it. I asked if it was spicy and he said it might have a slight kick, but was not spicy. He was absolutely correct and in fact, if he hadn't mentioned the habanero I would not have picked up on it at all. It was really good. If you order bread, (and you have choices on type), you are charged I think a dollar per order, but that is donated to help people who are food challenged. We were full from our dinner, but we could not pass up an order of key lime pie for dessert, which we shared. It was a hard choice because they had a special dessert which was chocolate peanut-butter pie. I wish we could have had both. Their other desserts also sounded great. By the way, a portion of their revenues from desserts are also donated to help those who need food assistance. I was very impressed that they do that. I want to mention that the wait staff was also great. Friendly, attentive, but not over-bearing. I can't say enough about Sweetwster Tavern. For a weeknight, this restaurant was surprisingly busy, which felt like a good sign! Dinner started out with trying some of their appetizers. We got the Tex Mex Egg Rolls as well as their special Burrata appetizer. The Tex Mex Egg Rolls came with four tasty mini egg rolls filled with smoked chicken, corn, black beans, onions, peppers, and jalapeño jack cheese. They were served with a creamy avocado dipping sauce that added a cool, refreshing contrast to the savory filling. Overall, these were a light and flavorful way to start the meal. The Burrata special was also pretty good. It came with three crisp breads, cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, extra virgin olive oil and drizzles of balsamic glaze. I loved the buttery, creamy burrata paired with the juicy cherry tomatoes. I also liked how the basil pesto and balsamic glaze gave a bright, herby flavor. For my entree, I opted for the Wood Grilled Chicken Breast. Two generous pieces of tender grilled chicken were served over angel hair pasta tossed in brown butter sauce, alongside roasted cremini mushrooms and green beans. Interestingly, I got a lemony flavor in the brown butter sauce, which was unexpected but surprisingly delicious. I especially enjoyed the roasted cremini mushrooms. These were earthy, meaty and full of flavor! Overall, I really enjoyed my dinner at Sweetwater Tavern. From the flavorful starters to the hearty entree, it was a satisfying first dinner in Dulles.
