Saw this place in the clock app and Im happy I finally decided to go. This isn't a sit down restaurant, they do have tables and chairs but this is food to go restaurant. I ordered a small combination fried rice (shrimp and Chicken). Extra eggs, green onions, onions, bean sprouts, chicken and shrimp (cooked well done). It was ready within 10 mins. Im not sure if I paid for a large but I ended up with a large. Wouldn't and couldn't wait until I drove 27 mins back home so quick taste in the car. I've gone to this location for many years until recently. It appears that this location has new ownership. I'm not sure if the food quality is the same. The walls on the inside are bare and a strong smell of bleach inside. No menus on the walls like before. Everyone working was Hispanic. I've called the location on Bellaire and was told they don't own this location. I'm totally confused about the Fondren location. read more

This is my local Chinese food spot. I've been coming here for years, and I've never been disappointed with the food. There are no bells and whistles at this place. It's all about the food. They offer all the standard Chinese takeout options like shrimp fried rice and orange chicken. They also sell chicken wings of different flavors, which I'm sure sets it apart from a lot of Chinese restaurants. It's very affordable, and they also offer lunch and dinner specials. I had to drop a star for the parking situation. The lot is filled with potholes, and the parking lines are unclear. But the restaurant itself is a diamond in the rough. read more

The portions are plenty to make you fall asleep after finishing your plate. I usually go with something safe when trying out a new Chinese restaurant: general tso chicken. I was not disappointed. Plenty of meat per chicken piece, tasty sauce, and not too breaded. The rice is also waaaayyyy better than that panda express crap. After reading all the mixed reviews I decided to take a leap of faith and decided to give them a shot today and I'm not disappointed at all. The guy taking orders, I'm gonna assume he was the manager was very accommodating after I sent back food due to an allergy. His tone might be different then what people prefer but once you can get over that, it's fine. The food was pretty good. We had the orange chicken, Kung pao chicken and cream cheese puffs. The fried rice that came with the lunch special was pretty bland but the chicken was great. And...10 cream cheese puffs for $5?! The prices are great!!! read more

We got to know this place from the owner of Bamboo Bistro in Austin. They recommended this place and we had to go try it. Well, of course the reason was to try the Indonesian food but when we went we didn't see any Indonesian menu. We happened to ask and they gave us another menu. As usual, my husband has this thing about beef rendang as he tried it when he went to Indonesia and ever since then he can't step into a Malaysian/Indonesian restaurant without asking for beef rendang. He claims it's good and almost as close to what you get in Indonesia. I can't make that distinction since I have never and will never eat beef rendang. :) I ordered the nasi goreng and mee goreng and they both were equally good. I've been coming here for years. It is not in the best area of town and it is not the best looking place either. However, the food is absolutely amazing and the service is always fast. The workers are friendly no matter how busy they get (THEY GET BUSY!!). I am a New Yorker and its been a challenge to find Chinese food half as good as back home. Rice bowl comes real close. Tried this place for the first time ever today for lunch. I had read how ghetto and dirty it was but decided to just give it a try. The guy in the front seemed nice enough, it was cheap, fast, and a good amount of food. The Kung pao chicken was really good no complaints there but the steam rice I had with it had these little black bugs (well I think they're bugs I'm not sure) throughout the rice.
